I have a 2016 CVO Road Glide Ultra Limited that lost 2 of them, the last one being in the middle of a 4782 mile ride home from the Rocky Mountains. Had to ride it to the nearest Harley shop and luckily they had one in stock that got me home. Once I saw the revised M8 one come out, I didn't even wait. I immediately changed it because we travel to much to take that chance again. Got 80,000 on her now and no problems for 60,000 since. Wasn't hard to do, just a little patience and take your time.
Those clamps you are talking about are called "constant tension" clamps and are waaaaay better/neater than worm drive clamps and can be installed/removed with pliers, slipjoint/needle nose depending on access but yes they make pliers specific to these clamps too and they work extremely well and are not expensive.
Just had the temp light come on my 2015 Harley Ultra Limited, the coolant reservoir overflowed can that be the water pump or the thermostat? These are both stock on my bike
@@williampizarro7411 yes i struggled with that too. Drilled 2 holes in it and used some zip ties to hold it on. Bout the best I could come up with for now
HELP!!! I keep getting codes 0691- cooling fuse, 1691 & 1693- r & l fans. My cooling fuse keeps blowing. Occasionally I will get 1019- difference- hot. But that code does not come up everytime. Is it more than likely the water pump? I am wondering if I have a wire inside the pump that needs soldered. And that is why the 1019 code only comes on sometimes. I have read that bad wire connections inside the pump are the main issue. And maybe as I go over a bump, it causes the wires to short out inside the pump which is in turn causing my fuse to blow. When I do the throttle test to see if the fans come on, the r- fan does not come on at all. & the left fan only comes on for a split second then the fuse blows. I can't tell if the pump comes on. I took the lowers off and tested the fan today to make sure it is working. And it is working fine. But I am baffled. Does it sound more like the pump than the sensor?
Just bought a 2015 ultra limited. Can you ride the bike for short period of time if your water pump goes out? I don't see any cylinder temperature gauge on this one.
Yogi good video just wanted to say I just bought the new pump kit from Harley and it is way more than 375 bucks. Current price from dealer as of May 2024 was 511 bucks and change. Mine is still operating, 38k, but I figured it ain't gonna be any cheaper next year so I bit the bullet and bought it now so it won't be 700 bucks next year.
Yep, just paid that too. There was a time you could order OEM parts from other dealerships for much less than MSRP. Surdyke HD was one of those dealerships. Surdyke sells it for $409, but not allowed to send HD OEM parts (that they sell below MSRP) beyond their region. At least that’s the gist of what i read when I tried.
Hello thanks for the video. Does part number 26800107 come as a kit with the mounting plate, clamps, and the electric connector adapter you mentioned? Also do you know if Harley has a cover that fits over the new pump? You mentioned you had a little trouble with it.
Yes that kit comes with everything you need to replace the entire cooling system more or less, minus the radiators. No it doesn’t come with a new cover and actually I need to get a new one still. That one you see got ripped off by a road alligator last fall. If and when I get one I will post something up on it. I think I will get one for my model year bike and go from there versus a M8 cover which I am not sure if the mounting system is the same or not
I don’t but check out the video I mentioned in this one. He shows it. You need to post the top inner cover off to get access to the screws that will let you pull it apart
Just wanted to thank you for this information and about to do my pump swap. Mine went out with just over 17000 miles, just got my tri glide and only put 1500 minors or so fast and already working on it. How it gets better from here. Thank again for the info. Off I go to change it👍🏻
Hello How many miles do you have on your 2014 limited? I have 85,000 miles on.mine and replace the water pump a couple of years ago with the updated pump.
Mine just went today. For the second time. Am I right they can't fit the old pump anymore? Kit is £352 plus tax over here. ($500 plus tax.) Seriously considering to have a go at this.
I think they stopped producing the stock kind from what I can tell. You may be able to get the Bosch pump but I am not sure how comparable it is. Might make the most sense to just bite the bullet and upgrade as much as it hurts
@@YogisCycleService thanks. It's going in for a diagnosis tomorrow, so we'll see where we go from there. Dash was giving p/n along with the error codes, which was new.
@@YogisCycleService here's a puzzle for you: last few days, both lamps have come on after a mile or so. Went grocery shopping today, gassed up at the supermarket.
