Happy Sunday Paul! Thank you Mrs. H for the lovely roses, I do so enjoy your arrangements. Oh, yes, the Gillette Super Adjustable razor paired with a Gillette Rubie blade. That is some good kit there. My prediction: Awesome Shave. My Sunday plan always includes watching your shaves. Today, I should head to the supermarket, as on Tuesday there is heavy snow forecasted and I want to mow the yard tomorrow before the storm strikes. I have to get the plants inside...again. SOTD: 1969 Wilkinson Sword Sticky razor loaded with a 1969 Wilkinson Sword Super Sword Edge blade (1st use). D.R. Harris Arlington shave soap lathered with a Simpson Chubby 2 synthetic brush. Finished with Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel toner and D.R. Harris Arlington aftershave. Superb BBS shave. The Wilkinson Sword blades came from an anonymous Grandfather via eBay at quite an acceptable price. The quality of these vintage blades are always amazing; smooth, sharp, and long-lasting. Yes, Paul, it is nice to see you use the blades more than 3 times before binning them. I mean if there are shaves left in them...some blade are done before the first pass is done, such as Tiger Platinum and pre-2016 Derby Extra blades, yet there are other blades that can last 10 plus shaves, such as Gillette Rubie, Gillette Platinum, and the longest lasting Personna 74 (an incredible 23 shaves). Each brand and type have their own longevity. You did get an awesome shave. Please stay healthy and safe. Take care, Paul!

Good morning Paul, I love these "simple" old fashioned shaves. My Sotd will be, Gillette Tech with a Voskhod blade, some Fine American blend soap and aftershave. Great shave Paul💈💈 Could be my computer but I noticed a small blur on the video, a water spot maybe. Beautiful spring time flowers today, thanks Mrs H. Simple, easy, old school shave, always a good choice. For me, Wilkinson soap sticks are the hardest to source, always out of stock it seems, maybe a UK item only. The Gillette Super Adjustable 109 is a great razor, I also have a 1976 model, last year for the metal bottom. Razor Emporium has a wealth of knowledge on the vintage razors, worth a visit. SOTD: PAA Cube, Tallow & Steel "Boreal" soap and splash, "Rich Man" custom brush, RazoRock "Lupo" SS razor w/Personna "Med Prep" blade, alum, Thayers witch hazel and AV 5 in 1 balm...Glorious. Nice video, dinner sounds good. Enjoy your Sunday.

My SOTD: 1973 Gillette Super Slim Twist from England. Astra green, 2nd use. Mr Fine Bay Rum, Prorasso by Omega Boar Brush. 3 passes plus the usual pickups. Osma Alum block, (never miss it), cold water rinse. Thayer's lemon witch hazel. Captain's Choice Bay Rum Aftershave and finished with Nivea post shave balm for sensitive skin. BBS!

Hi Paul, nice shave and a beautyfull display by Mrs. H (who must be obeyed..😉..) I also had a sotd with some classics:
Gillette Superspeed flare tip, Gillette Wilkinson Blade from India, Palmolive shaving cream, lathered up in my face with an Omega boarbrush, whitch hazel, Hattric aftershave and some Arko classic cream. My dad used the aftershave when I was a little boy (50 years ago...) and the scent always brings back some good memories...standing next to my dad when he stood in front of the mirror in the bathroom shaving and the sounds of my mum, prepearing the breakfast downstairs in the kitchen....the mixed smells of the aftershave and some bread beeing toasted.....

Good shave, Paul; the neck brace joke never gets old. 💈The black beauty is my favorite razor. Last Sunday, I shaved with a Gillette Rubie, second use, and it was the worst shave I ever had. I'm not sure what happened to the blade, but the Gillette Rubie (platinum) Plus is one of my favorite blades. Have a great rest of your weekend. 🍻

My shave was. Feather popular razor with a feather blade. Soap was Body shop Aloe Vera and macca root soap and balm with Lynx Africa aftershave. Dinner is Roast pork with all the trimmings. Have a great Sunday Paul and also Mrs H.

Sotd was Henri et Victoria Absinthe soap from Canada. Brand new Gillette Nacet in my Edwin Jagger. A best Badger brush. Finished with witch hazel, aqua Velva musk, and Nivea cool balm. Cheers and thanks for the videos

I have a slim adjustable from the 80s. Has a bit of plastic bellow the base plate. Some of the 80s modernity creeping in, but still shaves great.

Nice vid and flowers. Rubi is the only Gillette blade that gives me weepers.....with any razor. Those super adjustable razors are nice.
Another great shave Paul. You inspired me today. I also used my W3 Black Beauty (my son's month and year birthdate), Palmolive stick (I don't have a Wilkinson) and Aqua Velva. Like you, I'm a little sentimental about the razors. I have an S2 short black handle adjustable (my daughter's birthdate) and a P4 Black Handle Super Speed (my wedding). I won't say what my birth razor is, just a hint - it's post WWII but no date stamp. Have a great remainder of the day.
Thanks for another video mate. Funny enough, I just used the Gillette Rubie yesterday but in a Gillette Heritage rather than a black beauty. I went with a TOBS Sensitive Skin soap with a Semogue 830 brush. Absolutely destroyed my face but that was definitely down to poor technique. The blade was mowing through the hairs with minimal tugging which is rare for me. Definitely going to give it another try. I've been trying to do daily shaves with mild blades but I seem to be opening up old cuts so I might have to go to the dark side and use a Gillette Mach 3 for the weekday shaves and save the DEs for the weekends. Gorgeous display by Mrs. H. as always.

I just shaved (Literally just got done) with my 1970 (P3) black beauty, Phoenix AA CK6 soap and aftershave and balm. Yes they made them into the 80s, but they had a black plastic base plate after 1976. I have a 1987 that I hope somebody wants as a birth year razor that I found at a yard sale here in the US. It has the diamond knurling instead of the straight lines on the older models. They stopped making the black beauty in 1988.

We got the same Black Beauty. Last year with the metal base plate on that razor.
They were made into the 80's but they couldn't keep building them with all brass heads. The newer ones had black plastic base plates and plastic internal parts. Production was then stopped and the Knack/Slim Twist took over.
Always a good shave with a Gillette adjustable, as with the Wilkinson stick. I'm now almost one month into using a shavette and this a.m shave was practically bbs and uneventful. MOTD - McDonalds Big Mac, large fry with a large chocolate shake. SOTD - shavette, 1/2 of a Astra SP blade, Vie Long horse hair brush, Williams Mug soap, Aqua Velva AS with Vaseline Aloe Vera balm to finish.

I’ve always wanted a good old fashioned razor to have a nice Sunday shave. Don’t know if you’ve notice but I don’t shave that often, normally a trim with a Philips one shave. But on a Sunday its nice to spend the extra time and have a proper wet shave.

Great shave as always Paul. I bought my Black Beauty in 1983/4 from an old fashioned Pharmacy that sadly no longer exists, I think it’s a Cafe Nero now! It could have been in stock for years.
I sadly no longer have it. Great memories having shaving competitions with my older brother to see who could shave the closest😂😂 was a bloodbath at times 😂😂. Enjoy your Gammon.

I used my New Old Stock Merkur 11C that I got in the mail today with my PAA Sangre De Drago soap that also arrived today.
