Cool features but Too many steps
Yes, I would say the same. It's faster to do this maneuver yourself. And then to tell the truth, by me sitting inside the car, I would see it as even safer and I would feel calmer and a little less nervous.
@@aris1956 only time where i feel it would come into use is when u literally have enough space to park but to not get out, or youre parking the car in a dirty area and get out before it goes into the dirty area

Whining while you don’t have this at hand is subjective. I like this feature and use it regularly - it comes in quite handy and it allows me to step out before it becomes a hassle. BMW is all about comfort.

BMW, a driver's car and as the ultimate driving machine is meant to be driven and not for automated and self driving gimmicks.
What else can beat when we used to alternate between half and full clutching whilst pressing the gas pedal during making a 3 point turn or parking your car. The sound from the engine revs alone makes you feel to be commanding a beast of a machine.
true but i dont think a 60yo dude with a 7 searies has the same expectations with a young fella driving and m2/3/4.

My garage has a 6.5” clearance on each side of my 7 series. So instead of using the parking assistant, I just slather the doors and garage entrance walls with Irish butter and the car slides in just fine!

Not but four days after owning the car, I legit scratched my mirror cap. Can confirm the parking assistant DOES NOT LIKE such a small clearance :(

Not very useful when the car next to you doesn't have it and the person can't access their car anymore without damaging yours.

This is cool technology. But if you park in such a narrow spot that you can't get in and out of the car, then what do you think the guy parked next to you will do? This seems like a great way to either get keyed, dinged by their doors, or both.
was just going to say that, if you cant get in or out your car after parking how would the person next to you do it then?? come back to your bmw with door dings .LMAOo
Would be handy in other instances, such as parking against a wall in your own garage, property, etc.

Meanwhile we still can’t open or close the sunroof of the iX3 MY2022 via the app. 😒 My MY2019 CLA could even do that.

With my driving experience, I will accurately park my car with the aid of side mirrors and reverse camera and park two other cars before this remote parking will complete it's cycle. Humans have become too lazy and wants almost everything done for them effortlessly and seamlessly. In my opinion, the more you park cars in tight situations, the sharper your driving skills become.
Yes but if you damage a regular car, no one cares about fixing it or it would only cost a few hundred but on a bmw it would costs thousands just to repair a scratch.
@@oscar7476 Exactly. The 7 series is a beast of a sedan given its width and length. It was enjoyable for me to manually parallel park my Mini Cooper or even my 5 series (once I got used to it). It is NOT enjoyable to manually park the i7. I scratched the mirror cap of my i7 on my extremely narrow garage entrance and it cost nearly $700 to be repaired by a third-party bodyshop. Let's ... have a parking algorithm park the car perfectly, every time, thanks ...

At this point BMW has surpassed Mercedes Benz in regards to technology. People, you are missing the point about this feature. If you’re in a tight parking spot this can park for you remotely without you dinging your vehicle. I understand what about the other vehicle that doesn’t have it and they just might hit your vehicle, but it’s option you want to have than not have; no gimmick folks just technology and real issues being addressed.
The automated parking reversed my car to hit a pole, damaging my new X1 and the carport. Can we really trust this🤔?

The app is so cluncky, it hardly connects to BMW. I have I 7. It has bot wi fi and blue tooth connected still does not update charging etc. before you tout about all features, make a system “that connects well”

after getting out of car it need 10 mints to open the app & park the car and operate this app system come on this is 2023 bmw team once the car parking space is found the owner should only get of the car & car should park itself. just my suggestion
Why??? Im a big BMW fan and currently own the ix50. However, so many features are painful to learn which sequence of buttons to press like Park Assist and Driver Assist. Too many very confusing steps. So not worth it.

User Experience Design poorly integrated. There is too many steps to achieve this parking spot. The purpose of this feature was supposed to be minimalistic but it's lit taken too long

Park assist is useful but remote parking is really pointless.
Mostly, I agree. I can either carefully open my door, get in and back out of my fairly narrow spot in my garage, or i can use my phone. Using the phone, I don’t have to get in the car (and then climb back out if I am just moving the car out of the garage to make space), but it does take time to navigate the app. Taken in its entirety, though, the suite of park assist features are very, very useful.
So nice interior and tech but exterior design, so ugly, but I bet they will gonna make super nice facelift after few years and wheels are super ugly.
