    A Well composed video as always Doc. Some feedback on the new format: I think this format works, but I prefer longer videos. The amount of time the captions stayed on screen in these longer videos was about right in my view. However, I understand if it’s more viable for you in this new setting, to continue it. As long as you’re comfortable with your choices, then that’s all that matters. Kind regards, Anthony.

    I am keen to use this train, it is beautiful to look at. There is something about a red train!
    It would be perfect for a 2 centre break, with a night (or two) at the adjacent hotel, if only for the view!
    1st class definitely seems more appealing than business, although a family might prefer that option🙋‍♀️🇬🇧

    New format: absolutely o.k., although could also be up to 30 minutes as other comments have written.
    Concerning the Railjet: o.k., some details have been improved, as low floor entry, more privacy by the closed backrest of the 2-seat rows, footrests also on 2nd class. However the seat pitch is crsmped in all classes, subjectively narrower in 1st class than before (not yet verified by measurements). 2nd class seat comfort is by no means better than in regional trains.

    having to go up and down steps at every gangway is a real pain, that's the reason for the " lack of distribution" particularly if you board a different carriage to your reserved seat and have luggage - if the trains not full people won't bother.

    You made a very good Video.
    I really like the Railjet 2 but in 1st class only (I made a Video from the domestic one between Wörgl and Vienna )
    I tried the Business Class also, but the small between the other people is not worth for 15 €. Small tables and so on.
    Alone in the compartment is fine, but I don't like when there is another people seating you face to face my friends tried, it is "2nd class style"

    Another excellent video Doc. I guess you have to comply with the big Google algorithm, for the short attention span society in which we live. Your long videos have a lovely pace - more like being on the train - and you get to show more scenery and train features. If by 'shorter segments' you mean the way you edit each video, longer time on each portion of the video is nice, and has been your attractive style. As others commented, it was difficult to read the subtitles. Please continue the good qualities your have of no talking, no music while en route. Thanks!

    The new Viaggios are totally different rail cars. Different frame and aluminium skin and are thus much much lighter than their older (and cheaper) Viaggios 1 that are made of heavy steel. The new ones also have special coating on windows to allow cellular signals through.
    Oh, BTW, if what Siemens did for VIA Rail has done in Canada is any indication, the train horn in the cab car in front of train (when loco in in back) is INSIDE the car so whenever the train sounds the horn, the passengers in that car REALLY hear it. Hopefully, they did it differently for ÖBB. (in canada, for every crossing, trains sounds horn 2 long, 1 short, 1 long, FOR EACH CROSSING and there are hundreds between Monreal and Ottawa, a 2 hour jourey).

    Quite susprised (and disapointed) that you did not videop the gangways between cars. You ALWAYS comment when walking betwene cars for some trains, you would be affraiud to bring kids through. The new trend is to have fixed consists with non-standard wider and fully enclosed gangways, so am quite curious if these Railjet 2 have the whole train as a fixed consist, or have sets of 2 or 3 cras permanetly counped, and then standard couplings betwene groups to allow change in train length.
    Since those are designed to be reversible (and losing the end of train view forever), do the seats rotate inside cars, or are half the seats already facing one way and the rest of passengers travelling backwards? On TGVs, they are retrfitting first class seats to be reversible so people face forward.

    • @sebastianhofmann17
      @sebastianhofmann17 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The new railjet has fixed coupling and open gamgways between all of the 9 cars. It is normally not possible to reduce the length of this consist.

    At 04:30 you show the departures board. Your subtitle mentiones RJ 286, but departure board shows EC 286. In fact that was the only EC train. there are some RJX and others. I assume these are designations for type of service? I assume RJX is international Rail Jet ? How come your train an international and Rail Jet , but has EC train number?

    • @sebastianhofmann17
      @sebastianhofmann17 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      RJX are Railjet Express train which have less stops then regular RJ services thus faster travel time. The new Railjet set are the replacements for the old EC (EuroCity) trainsets on this route thus they still have the same EC number as before

      why do you think Business Class was a downgrade ?

      Economy class on the new RJ2 is among the best ones in Europe.

      @@doc7austin With the current business class you have much more spaced-out seats, fully reclinable with leg room, and slightly staggered, so your legs don’t crash against the person in front of you. More importantly, they have some individual seats for the solo travelers that provide great privacy. This new business class has 4 seats crammed in inside a small cabin, and even though the actual seat seems slightly wider, if you are 6 foot tall your legs will touch the person in front. I must say, the First-Class seats seem nicely improved in comparison to the current ones. I have traveled the RJ across central Europe multiple times, and I am 6’4’’, so I know what’s comfortable on a train and what’s not. I will miss the current business class seats.

    I prefer your sub-title only videos. The only thing I would say is be consistent with terminology especially with proper nouns. If you prefer to call it München rather than Munich then stick with München and don't have both. Having said this, your videos are far superior to those of Simply Railways. He still insists on having a voiceover introduction in his heavily accented Franglais. I have had to stop watching his videos because of this. Fully-sub-titled is the way forward.

      it appears the youtube algorithm prefers videos with audio narration.

    • @Eurobazz
      @Eurobazz 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@doc7austin Why is that? If voiceover is to be provided then it should be in the videographer's native language with sub-title selections.
      I watched Paul Lucas' video immediately after yours albeit in the reverse direction and onwards to Italy.
      Paul is a native English speaker and knows how to narrate professionally so that the viewer can understand him.
      I watch a Spanish railway-themed video where the narrator speaks Spanish but I read the sub-titles throughout the video.
      I've no objection to non-native English speakers narrating in English as long as they don't follow the example of 'Simply Railways'.
      'Railways Explained' is a great example of where a non-native English speaker does an excellent job at narrating in English. It can be done! I wish you success with your choice.

      the problem witj any narration/voice-over -> you cannot hear the original sound of the railway ride anymore

    This time doc7 Austin was okey with OBB . Perhaps he already forgot the bad experience on
    board of a Nightjet that after all there was more to blame to DB than OBB .
    About the Business compartment and the 4 strangers i think that's a very restrictive view .
    The compartment can be booked by 4 business man /women that work together , 2 friend couples , a family , the Fab Four , don't you think ?
    In the other hand , you have a very good 1st Class . I wish my Country had a train like Railjet.

      if the Railjet 2 train would have been cancelled, there are plenty of alternatives to get from innsbruck to munich during the daytime; this is not so much true for a nightjet berlin-brussels
