In 2 Wochen fahre ich mit dem Zug und nun, wo ich ihn schonmal im Video gesehen habe freue ich mich umso mehr darauf. Danke für den Bericht, war wieder grandios!
A Well composed video as always Doc. Some feedback on the new format: I think this format works, but I prefer longer videos. The amount of time the captions stayed on screen in these longer videos was about right in my view. However, I understand if it’s more viable for you in this new setting, to continue it. As long as you’re comfortable with your choices, then that’s all that matters. Kind regards, Anthony.
I am keen to use this train, it is beautiful to look at. There is something about a red train! It would be perfect for a 2 centre break, with a night (or two) at the adjacent hotel, if only for the view! 1st class definitely seems more appealing than business, although a family might prefer that option🙋♀️🇬🇧
I like the new format, but I would say the sweetspot for your videos is half-an-hour. Subtitles with railway sounds is very soothing. More Asian videos please.
Great train, can see that what counts here is the passenger's comfort, that's the most important thing. Unfortunately, some countries don't know this and will never go in this direction. Great video
In general these trains do look great, however the business class doesn't look good to me, personally I don't like compartments and therefore I would feel more freedom in the regular 1st class
New format: absolutely o.k., although could also be up to 30 minutes as other comments have written. Concerning the Railjet: o.k., some details have been improved, as low floor entry, more privacy by the closed backrest of the 2-seat rows, footrests also on 2nd class. However the seat pitch is crsmped in all classes, subjectively narrower in 1st class than before (not yet verified by measurements). 2nd class seat comfort is by no means better than in regional trains.
having to go up and down steps at every gangway is a real pain, that's the reason for the " lack of distribution" particularly if you board a different carriage to your reserved seat and have luggage - if the trains not full people won't bother.
You made a very good Video. I really like the Railjet 2 but in 1st class only (I made a Video from the domestic one between Wörgl and Vienna ) I tried the Business Class also, but the small between the other people is not worth for 15 €. Small tables and so on. Alone in the compartment is fine, but I don't like when there is another people seating you face to face my friends tried, it is "2nd class style" But I really like the new Railjet 2. The 1st class is more better than before 😀
I don’t know but on my point of view, business class should be small and single compartment or at least have some, this is the highest class and a group of 4 for this is not so right but apart from that, the compartment looks nice
Another excellent video Doc. I guess you have to comply with the big Google algorithm, for the short attention span society in which we live. Your long videos have a lovely pace - more like being on the train - and you get to show more scenery and train features. If by 'shorter segments' you mean the way you edit each video, longer time on each portion of the video is nice, and has been your attractive style. As others commented, it was difficult to read the subtitles. Please continue the good qualities your have of no talking, no music while en route. Thanks!
total length of videos is not going to be reduced; the length of the video segments will decrease, while at the same time to number of video segments will increase
The new Viaggios are totally different rail cars. Different frame and aluminium skin and are thus much much lighter than their older (and cheaper) Viaggios 1 that are made of heavy steel. The new ones also have special coating on windows to allow cellular signals through. Oh, BTW, if what Siemens did for VIA Rail has done in Canada is any indication, the train horn in the cab car in front of train (when loco in in back) is INSIDE the car so whenever the train sounds the horn, the passengers in that car REALLY hear it. Hopefully, they did it differently for ÖBB. (in canada, for every crossing, trains sounds horn 2 long, 1 short, 1 long, FOR EACH CROSSING and there are hundreds between Monreal and Ottawa, a 2 hour jourey).
The cab car of the new railjet doesn't have the licence for being used in push service. So it might take some time until we will know about the horn. Secondly In Austria and other European the horns are rarely used on mainlines
As I've said on another travel video, if only we could have this train in Canada, going between Windsor and Quebec City, and the other corridor with the cities that escape my memory now for the moment.
Thank you for video. I suggest you to use black outline 3px on subtitles, it is really difficult to read white text on bright video. I see shadows under the subtitles, but it’s still not enough. Nevertheless I love trains despite Deutsche Bahn Verspatungs

Quite susprised (and disapointed) that you did not videop the gangways between cars. You ALWAYS comment when walking betwene cars for some trains, you would be affraiud to bring kids through.
