This is a great point, thank you for bringing this up! The Battle of New Orleans actually took place after the Treaty of Ghent was signed, since both the U.S. and British forces were unaware that the treaty was ever signed. This mix-up happened because message delivery in the 1800s took a very long time. Although I'd still argue that the Battle of New Orleans solidified the ending of the War of 1812, since it was gave the U.S. one final victory against British forces. This was a victory that would be seen by many Americans as a defining moment in the war, while also being the primary kick-starter for the Era of Good Feelings as well!
it will also be very nice to see a complete series of US elections from 1789 till 2020, that will be very informative and will add uniqueness onto ur channel. You only covered US presidential elections upto i guess 1800. Hope u will look into it, cheers for ur good work.
Thank you very much! We look forward to completing the series. We are actually working on a video for the 1804 Presidential Election right now, so that should be up this week!
as a American and a history buff we didn't win the war of 1812 but we didn't really loose neither all conquered lands were given back to us and the brits stop patrolling our waters the only thing we got out of the war of 1812 was death and a burnt capitol and we actually lost more than we won. but one thing we can all agree on there was one looser and that was the native Americans who got their lands taken away. p.s don't hang me for be unpatriotism or whatever.
Important history information but the music is unnecessary and is distracting. This is as a class. In academic classes music does not help and is not allowed. Adding background music indirectly gives the misleading message that background music is necessary in order to learn.
I respect the grind
Thanks man, good to hear!
