Hey Rene! Thanks for letting me know! We actually learned that officially on our last day of the trip. We had some incredible run-in’s with sea turtles prior to that, but didn’t touch any of ‘em. The 10 foot rule is definitely noted for the next time we’re there though👍

Love the Big Island! Grew up on the Hilo side but now live on the mainland. Brought my family to visit my home island 3X and they love it too! Glad you and your parents had a wonderful time there.
One year when I was staying on Oahu, we flew over to the big island for a tour. We stopped at Punalu'u for malasadas. They were so warm and fresh. We went to the black sand beach and there's a coffee shop that we went to. Also, that dude with the honey was amazing.

@@jamesmizuki , unfortunately I don’t remember the name or the resort we were staying. I know it’s been at least 10 years. All my photos and pamphlets when I moved are in storage. The vegetation is beautiful and the houses are way up off the ground. When it rains they have plants with jumbo leaves to shield them from getting wet. We had a beautiful time. 🙏🏽❤️

Lol you have experience what the locals experience all the time... The sweet bread company you visited, they make some ono sweet bread... next time buy the loaf they sell on the stores. The hotels are good to check out too, all the Airbnb and VRBO places take away from our housing market and is greatly affecting rent prices right now, if you do book with Airbnb type places please check the NUC on the rental listing to see if it's a legal STVR before booking, most on those websites listings aren't operating legally.
It looks like you guys went to Kai Loki's 😍 thier Loco moco's are the best!! It's the best food in my area...Alot better than the Lnl we have here. Lol. Punalu'u Malasada's are bomb. I love thier Bismarks and Poi Malasada's!! ❤ My boyfriend loves thier Strawberry Guava Donuts and Macadamia kona coffee ice cream 🍦 Did you guys visit South point? Or Green Sands Beach? My advice for foods to try next is Shakas Tacos for thier Fish and Shrimp Tacos. Kona inn and Don the beach combers have the BEST mud pie and stunning ocean views. We just finished dinner at Umeke's and going home down south. Glad you enjoyed your trip and had fun with your ohana. 🤙🌴🐠🍧🍻
Woww these are such incredible recommendations! We weren’t able to make it to the green sand beach, but we still did soooo much! I wish I could have gotten this videos edited and posted sooner so I would still be on the big island seeing your comment!
