I'm pretty sure they are peat dams for blocking erosion gullies. These are supplemented with woody material. Nice video, thanks!

@@AmblingTrails Good luck. Though I was up there last week and they've fenced off the path from Whimberry Hill to Dean Mills resi. I'm not sure why.
