Lancashire Walks - Rivington Pike Walk

Took a hike around the area of Rivington Pike today. Hadn't been walking around here before so thought I'd give it a go. Found a route on outdooractive and off I went.
There are some great views from the Pike, you just have to get there.... It's a bit hilly on the climb, but if you take your time, you'll get there. There's also a couple of seats at the top for those that need a rest afterwards....
It was warm.....REALLY WARM and I was glad of carrying the extra water. So glad... One of the paths takes you past the reservoir which is nice.

Any tips on navigating the route you taken? I'd like to try it but will probably get lost in the first 2 miles

Hi Dan. Thanks very much. To be honest, this was a route that I found on a map/navigation app called Outdooractive that I use. It's like a stanav for walking out.ac/IKuwNk. The only real advice I can give is, there's several routes up to the Pike itself, but the one I saw going up, whilst taking the detour to see the fall, was a white tarmac road that looks like it goes nowhere. It does. Follow that and pick up the footpath across a field uphill. Once on the Pike, the route out is on the opposite side to where you walked up, heading off towards what look like pylons on the horizon. But don't take that path a head left over the hills. Other than that I followed the app... Keep the water to your left on the way out and on the right on your return. Hope you give it a go.

Late to the party here, you might already know but for those that don't, the reservoirs around rivington supply the drinking water for Liverpool.
