I really enjoyed this video. A great look back on such an important piece of history that is often forgotten. The magnificant drone shots really capture the size and scale of the event so superbly. Thank you so much for creating this video! I'll make sure to share it

so interesting to think about the intersections between politics and place in influencing our own conceptions of 'freedom'. thanks for the insightful film!

Thanks for making this. I'm from Bolton but I live in Canada. I've been following the lead up to this on Paul Salveson's Facebook all year. I would have loved to have come home for this but of course not possible, so this was a great second best to being there.

A big thanks for this. When I lived in that part of Lancashire, I was amazed to discover this mass trespass, which was much bigger, and older than the Kinder Scout mass trespass, and other events. I've always struggled to find a good reference, so from now on I've bookmarked your lovely video.

Just found this video. Knew a bit about the Kinder trespass but not other earlier ones like Winter Hill. 'Real change comes from below' indeed, and solidarity with all who work to achieve it.

@6:20 The word 'Holt' on the side of the Black Dog public house suggests a railway or tram, ran through here. In parts of Lancashire a Holt is akin to a station or -crossing. Here's the intriguing part - look around - 1. The road and terrain all have quite sharp angles of incline, both up and down, in all directions - foreground / background etc.
    2. Railway trains don't work in this terrain without first cutting a 'route' through.
Question - So which came first? Logic says the holt (station and tracks) were functioning normally before the 'terrain' arrived out of the blue and changed everything. It's like a real life crime thriller - whodunnit? Who done eden in?

I know at bit of mining has been done of Winter Hill, maybe something to do with that. Best of luck with the crime thriller!!!

But where are the women's voices, other than the beautiful singers of course, as there doesn't seem to be any shortage of female walkers.

Apologies, I do agree and an oversight on my part. And the choir was certainly brilliant, really added a lot to the atmosphere of the day. Thanks for the comment.
