I like to think that Sarabi was present while Kiara was just a cub, but I don't see her living long enough to see her granddaughter grow into a teenager. I'm glad you made this video, because Sarabi is such an underrated character. She went through hell, yet still remained strong. She reminds me a lot of my mom, who I really look up to.
That makes 0 sense because Sarabi wouldn't of had time to die because Lion King 2 starts right off where the first one ended so she couldn't of died that fast, she would've been able to watch Kiara be born. Now when Kiara got older who knows but look at Rafiki he's old and he was there when Kiara was born and grew up so you're comment makes no sense at all. Have no idea where Sarabi was in the second lion king cause she didn't die in the first one she should've been a part of the cast of lion king 2.
Sarabi does appear in the sequel! After the timeskip, when adult Kiara walks down from the den, surrounded by lionesses, the one that says something along the lines of: “My! How much you’ve grown!” Looks suspiciously much like Sarabi.
Emma can't come up with a creative username she got better they didn't replace her voice actress so even if she wasn't on part two we don t have to worry about somebody destroying her character
Honestly, Sarabi was probably the strongest character you could ever find, she has literally went through torture/ living hell (whatever you prefer) Like, she didn’t give in at all and kept strong, she didn’t care if scar was king she just wanted the best for the pride. (Through the rough times, obviously scar didn’t care) So.. Sarabi was actually my most favourite character, even if she didn’t have much script in TLK.
To me, her dying of old age is the most logical explanation for whey Sarabi wasn't in Lion King 2, aside from the fact that her voice actor died, and I heard that Disney couldn't find anyone who could do her voice as well as the actress.
4:10 Zazu placing his wing on Sarabi's paw in comforting way 😭 I can just imagine how heartbroken she was - she had lost her husband and son in one day, then she managed to go through Scar's tyranny
I think Sarabi is a very underrated character. Sure she doesn’t have that many scenes like Nala or simba but she actually plays a pretty big role in the movie. After loosing her mate and believing her son to be gone as well, Sarabi kept her head held high and helped keep the pride strong while scar was destroying the pride lands. She’s a very wise and strong lioness and fought till the very end. It’s a shame we never get to see her again in any of the sequels or tv shows because it would be nice to get a actual backstory about her life and stuff.
It makes sense, I mean lions really don't live all that long in the wild, some are lucky to make it to the age of 10. And judging by how huge Mufasa was, they may have been around the age of 5-6 when they had Simba. And it takes around 3-5 years for an adult male to grow his mane, so with Simba returning with a full on hair-do, she could of been at the right old age of 9 at the end of the movie.
Wow, so they were basically middle-aged by the time they had Simba, and Sarabi was nearing the end of her life when Simba returned. At least she lived to see Mufasa's legacy preserved and the Pridelands restored to their former glory, thus she could pass on peacefully, and complete the circle of life.
I know this is a old comment but female lions usually live longer lives then males, (females can live from 10-15 years in the wild) so she was probably old when they had simba or she was killed
Mufasa and Sarabi were the same age, but she may have lasted a few years longer than he did. She may have been killed when hunting or just died of natural causes.
Yeah I'm kinda sad to, honestly I think Sarabi would've played an important role to Kiara's life, like in Moana with the Grandmother being her role model, but sadly too late for us
Sarabi was, and will always be my favorite character in TLK. Watching this video made me want to cry ugly tears. The animators did a magnificent job in animating her and Madge Sinclair knew EXACTLY how to bring my beloved lioness to life.
I will think that Sarabi died when the actress died because nobody could do Sarabis voice correct and out of respect... Sooo my story is she watched Simba announce his cub from the cave she was in the distance because she was old, tired, and sick. After Simba announced his baby she passed away peacefully, she was happy knowing the circle of life was then complete... ❤ ❤ 👑👑🐘🐘🐾🐾⭕⭕
@@fabriciocesar__073I think what ended up happening to Kopa and why we don’t see him in simba’s pride is he wasn’t born yet and we didn’t see him as an adult was because he may have left to start his own pride which is brought up in some fan theories
Most of them aren't even cannon and don't even make sense anyway. They got so many characters that were never seen in the actual movie that appears in the book.
I played this role last year when my school did the lion king and as I researched the role I became very proud to represent this wonderful queen. I never thought much of her as a kid and was slightly disappointed at first to get the role as my good friends all got main roles, such as Simba, Nala, and Timon. However, acting the scenes where she confronts Scar, as well as where Simba returns to pride rock gave me a new respect for her. I could feel the defensivness and loyalty to her pride as I fought scar. When Simba returned, I could feel the loving link to him as we embraced after I learned he was alive after all these years. The role ment a lot to me, and helped me grow as an actor. It was a new challenge to embrace a character I didn't know, but one that I am truly grateful for
Sarabi is a great character as Simba's mother, I cherish her few moments on screen say a lot: yes, she loved her son Simba very much and it hurt her to think that he had died as a child. Loving, brave and strong to endure that pain and Scar's tyranny. I liked the cartoon you showed wow: So I also imagine that Simba's childhood was with his mother, and that surely after his exile, he missed her very much. I was glad that at least she got to see her son come back, after a long time, and see him ascend to the throne.. I like to think that she thanked Timon and Pumbaa for raising him with love.
I agree that Sarabi most likely died. I think also the stress and fighting under Scar could have weared her down physically. She held on long enough to see a better tomorrow and was rewarded with the return of her son and the removal of Scar. Great video. I'm going to check out the updates on Patreon. Take care.
Molly Vatauli her name was Roxy. She was an amazing black actress a woman of Jamaica and wonderful mother to her own lion of judah- lenny kravitz. I'm glad she was brave for gyals like me to learn from
The scene where Simba and the rest of pride rock saying their good byes yo sarabi would have been epic and a real Tear jerker. I wished they would have wrote that into the movie. Still to this day I can’t get over the lion king movie! Such a beautiful story
While it is possible that she died, I dont think that is likely. Lions live a long time, males reach around 10-12 years and females can reach 18 years. At the start of the movie, she is a fertile adult, but reasonably young, Simba is the crown prince so he is most likely her first cub. This would mean that Sarabi at the start of the movie is at youngest 3 years old. If we look at Mufasa, his heavy mane reveal he should be around 5, so if Sarabi and Mufasa are supposed to be around the same age, they are most likely around 3-5 years old. Then we can replicate this process for Simba to add that age onto Sarabi. Simba is leaner and dont have a mane that is as full as Mufasas but it is still somewhat close, so he is most likely between 3-4 years old. So Sarabis age seems to be between 6-9 years old towards the end of the movie. Yes, that is old for a male lion, but that is because of the injuries males get when defending their territories, Sarabi is however a female so she has another 9 years left and in that time span she could see both grandcubs and great grandcubs. So old age is not the killer here, the only thing that would possibly have made her kick the bucket prematurely is a sickness or a grave injury, but this is Disney, they only kill of parents when they need to traumatize the protagonist. I mean look at Pumbaa, warthogs live around 7-10 years in the wild and he was an adult of unspecified age when he met cub Simba. Warthogs reach maturity around 1½ years of age just like Meerkats so he synch his age well with Timon. They seem to still be bachelors at that time so we can approximate their ages to be around 2-4. If we add Simbas age at the end of the movie, Pumbaa become about 5-8 years old, then we add on Kovus age (as we can easier see where he is age wise through his mane and Kovus age seem to be about 3-4 years at the end of Lion king 2), we get 8-12 years. That is a really long lived Warthog! So, Sarabi is probably still alive. She might just have retired and moved to a different spot on the pride rock, that thing is full of caves and hollows, and she might just want to live in peace and calm now that Scar is gone. A lot of animals seek more solitude when they get older. But in the end, we can only wait and see if Disney ever addresses this.
While this does seem to be reasonable, I still think she died. You say they live up to 18 years, but that's usually in sanctuaries. This is in the wild, where animals just don't last that long. 12 year old lions (male or female) are EXTREMELY lucky to have lived that long. It is possible for her to have died. I suspect she died while Kiara was growing up. The beginning hardly showed the rest of the pride, so she could've been there. But then probably the time Kiara was grown up, she died. I can tell the time difference because Kovu has his full mane, which by your logic he would be around 5. So, if she was nine around the end of the 1st movie, then she would've been 14. That's old for lions in the wild. Animals just usually don't live that long. Again, if they do, they're incredibly lucky.
You say males usually die before ten due to injuries sustained from defending their pride. You're forgetting that Sarabi was dealing with hostile hyenas who we SEE snarling at her throughout Scar's rule. Given that Scar allows them to snap at her this way it's not unlikely they've outright attacked her before. I think it's much more likely that Sarabi died shortly after Simba became king. She could finally relax and allow herself rest knowing her pride was in the paws of her son. But speculation is just that, speculation. Most likely we'll never know for sure.
Great video, Issac. Sarabi is one of my favourite characters in the Lion King. I believe that she was murdered. In the lost story about Kopa, I read that when Zira had a plan to devour the cub, Sarabi protected her grandson and defended him. However, Zira attacked Sarabi, which led to her death; after that, Zira killed Kopa. Hope this sentence will make sense (I don't explain things too well).
What about Sarafina!?! Heh WHAT ABOUT HER HAHAHAAHA WHY IS SHE NOT IMPORTANT! Sorry... I'm salty, I played Sarafina in my school play. I just wish she was more important, I mean she IS nalas mother. Edit: Thank you so much watso videos for hearting my comment!💙
What a great video! My family has always been huge fans of Madame Madge Sinclair. She didn’t get the recognition that she deserved during her life & acting career, but she was awesome! She had such a regal presence, even when she was younger. I always wished I had her bearing! Such an impressive lady & a fabulous actress! Thanks for mentioning her. She is definitely missed. This is my first time seeing one of your videos & I’m impressed. Plus, you’re a little cutie 😊. Take care🌈
I agree that she likely died peacefully, and I expect that she helped advise Simba to drive out the outlanders. Simba is a kind soul, and a new king, he was not prepared to kill his uncle even after all he'd done. So I find it difficult to believe he would drive out any of his former pride without a serious push to do so. Now that push might have come from Nala but I think since Nala is so ready to forgive Kovu in TLK 2 it's much more likely this advice came from his wise mother, a lion who had seen what a divided pride can cause. After seeing the pride return to peace she would be eager to help her son make sure they don't get another Scar in their midst and the quickest way to do that would be to drive out his supporters. As the lead lioness she would be strategically placed to know who those were as well. She would know who Scar tended to show favour to, which Simba and Nala would not. That's just my hypothesis though.
That makes no sense because they start the 2 lion king right off where the first one ended so Sarabi couldn't of died that fast she would've been able to watch Kiara be born.
Great video. I agree with you. Any theory that isn't "Sarabi died of natural causes" is less likely to have happened. If it were otherwise, Simba or Nala or Zazu would have mentioned it in passing in the second movie. And her being banished is probably the silliest...the lionesses can attest to her not being complicit in Scar's rule.
A mention of Sarabi's passing in TLK 2 would have been nice. It wouldn't have left a loose end, and would have tied the previous storyline together. Maybe at the presentation of Kiara, both Mufasa and Sarabi could have appeared in the clouds to be looking over the presentation. Simba could have been looking up to them, maybe the only one who could see them (like Luke in Return of the Jedi), Mufasa and Sarabi could smile and nod in approval, and that's all you would have needed.
I like to think that a particular background lion in Simba's Pride is her. She stands near Simba when he goes to confront Zira that first time, when Kiara is just a cub. Doesn't say a word, but her features are kinda similar and she was standing behind Simba. But that's just what I like to think, and there's absolutely no evidence to support that. I haven't been able to spot her again after that, so it does kinda make sense that maybe she passed away before Kiara grows up. Anyone else with me? :)
Wotso Videos Okay. Thanks for letting me know. Sorry, I just like Vitani as a character, I was hoping you'd do a video about her. I'll get off your back about making a video about her. I just felt for a while, that request went unseen since you probably get thousands of comments per video.
Master Riku I really don’t like that theory. The lion king is a movie that should stay the same. It’s so amazing and all these fan theory’s are ruining it.
Thanks so much for this video! Sarabi passing away by the second film makes sense Especially because madge sinclair, her voice actress, died a year after the first movie was released It's like sarabi was written out of the story
I believe that she died of natural cause before Kiara was born. Her being banned is silly because we would have seen her with the outsiders and Plus Simba loved his mother. Plus if she died in a gruesome manner, Simba, Nala, or Zazu would have mentioned it.
“What are you doing son?” “Pouncing” “Let the pro show you how it’s done” “What are you telling him Mufasa?” “Pouncing lesson.” “Oh very good...... POUNCING!? Oh no sire you can’t be serious”
Thanks for telling more about Sarabi and why she wasn't in the franchise all of the sudden I'm a fan of Lion King and Lion Guard and I'm glad your here to tell more about these story's. Also can you tell me where did you get those Lion King King of the jungle comics? Give me links of them please 😃❤️
I linked the Lion King wiki page for Sarabi. If you scroll down on her page there are links to all of the comics she appeared in. There is a description of the comic and all of the panels translated into English. Enjoy!
The reason Sarabi wasn’t in The Lion King 2 was because Madge Sinclair (the voice actress) passed away in 1995, and the filmmakers decided to leave her character out of the film. They felt that replacing her voice with someone else would be disrespectful.
JoshuaTV20 - IMDb confirmed it. She was left out to show respect to the actress. They could’ve had her in the film if Madge Sinclair hadn’t passed away.
She could of had internal bleeding from that blow scar did. But that my thought. It's really sad but at least she seen him do a raw and become king. Might of when to bed that night and not woke up. :(
I wish they'd put Sarabi in the lion king 2 She could've seen her grandchild be presented to all at the ceremony but then not be shown up in the rest of the film, implying she passed away Though maybe she could've been a background lioness watching her granddaughter go out for her first hunt? I have no idea, I guess I just kind of missed her in the lion king 2
they have relatives??, we need them in the series or a movie!!, also if Sarabi died (they could of found another voice actor like the rest of them), it would of been nice too actually see her with Mufasa up there.. not Scar tho...
I think she may have gotten sick and she tried to hide it because she did not want them to worry about her and then one day she died. And maybe while she was sick (in my theory) she was in pain but knew she had lived for greatness. (The sickness wasn’t contagious.)
Sarabi deserves a better life I wish she was alive when simba was king my favorite characters of the lion king are Nala and Sarabi my favorite characters in the lion king 2 are Kiara and Vitani
This was a pretty good one. I didn't know about the other stories and comics. I've always loved Sarabi. I was always kinda bummed she didn't get a bigger role in the Lion King.

No it was revealed that strabi was revealed to be living before the movie
I believe she is still living
They can live that long in captivity but in the wild it’s usually 10-12 years on average.
I think she died naturally.
Good video! Your channel is brilliant!
I'm happy you're enjoying it and you liked the video! Thanks for watching!
I'm glad you liked it! That makes a lot of sense actually. I could see that happening as well. Thanks for watching!
actingmylife Ya I agree with that
It's no canon! All this soap-opera plots out there are just fans fanfics ideas.
Sarabi is my favorite character
When are you going to make new video Wotso let me tell you my name is Jade and I'm 8 years old😃
Sarabi is such a sweet natured yet stirned character! I enjoyed watching the scenes of her!
In Simba's dream about Mufasa, Scar looks really wicked! Even more so than the first film.
Sarafina's story/theories PLEASE
I want to do this! Thanks for watching!
Wotso Videos yes please! I've known her name was Sarafina meanwhile I've never actually seen her name mentioned anywhere
Hi Alethia, you know who I am
Hamilton :3
What about Sarafina!?! Heh WHAT ABOUT HER HAHAHAAHA WHY IS SHE NOT IMPORTANT!
Sorry... I'm salty, I played Sarafina in my school play. I just wish she was more important, I mean she IS nalas mother.
Edit: Thank you so much watso videos for hearting my comment!💙
LunarSmiles AJPW wait.......SCHOOL PLAY ???!!!
it's kiki but who is Nala’s FATHER 😵O-o?
@@specklesandblueeyes for what she refers back to Sarabi for her only lines in the film lol
@@Bananika16 not mufasa
Nala is one of my favorites
What a great video! My family has always been huge fans of Madame Madge Sinclair. She didn’t get the recognition that she deserved during her life & acting career, but she was awesome! She had such a regal presence, even when she was younger. I always wished I had her bearing! Such an impressive lady & a fabulous actress! Thanks for mentioning her. She is definitely missed. This is my first time seeing one of your videos & I’m impressed. Plus, you’re a little cutie 😊. Take care🌈
Sarabi was the most underrated queen ever!
Sarabi is one of my favorite characters in lion king pity she is not seen more often!
can you do a theory about what happened to Mufasa's body
Lashema Francois most likely taken by the lions and then put to rest in a 6 foot deep hole for everyone to pay there respects
Antelopes eat the grass and in the end they become the grass such and such stuff circle of life. c:
yeah do a theory
It has went through a _magical_ thing called "decomposition"
His body became the grass....and the antelope ate the grass....
No wonder those female lioness could fight, as they're the one who do the hunting in real-life
I love Madge Sinclair, what a perfect choice to voice Sarabi.
sarabi is so underrated. i loved her in the first lion king movie, and i love her character design
I really like the background music near the end of the video it goes well with telling the story of Sarabi and it's really empowering.
Thank you! Glad I picked some good songs! Thanks for watching!
I always thought that Sarabi died of old age before The Lion King II. I love your videos on The Lion King!
I'm happy I can make them for people like you then! Thanks for watching!
Well, Madge Sinclair did die before the Lion King II came out, but it wasn't from old age, I'm sure!
That makes no sense because they start the 2 lion king right off where the first one ended so Sarabi couldn't of died that fast she would've been able to watch Kiara be born.
HarveySpecter Fan
Probably did but died shortly after.
I just think they didn't want to replace the voice actress.
I was in a local production of Lion King The Musical a few years back as Sarabi. Thank you for giving her the attention she deserves.
If she didn't die in the sequel, how would she have reacted to her son when he was acting very irrational towards his daughter and to Kovu?
I like to think that a particular background lion in Simba's Pride is her. She stands near Simba when he goes to confront Zira that first time, when Kiara is just a cub. Doesn't say a word, but her features are kinda similar and she was standing behind Simba. But that's just what I like to think, and there's absolutely no evidence to support that. I haven't been able to spot her again after that, so it does kinda make sense that maybe she passed away before Kiara grows up.
Anyone else with me? :)
thats nala...
Nah
I still want to see a back story on Vitani and hear about your thoughts, on the fan theory that Vitani is actually Nala's daughter and not Zira's.
I will make a video on Vitani. I don't know when, but I promise it will happen. Thanks for watching!
Wotso Videos
Okay. Thanks for letting me know. Sorry, I just like Vitani as a character, I was hoping you'd do a video about her. I'll get off your back about making a video about her. I just felt for a while, that request went unseen since you probably get thousands of comments per video.
Heroteam 598 and nuka
Master Riku I really don’t like that theory. The lion king is a movie that should stay the same. It’s so amazing and all these fan theory’s are ruining it.
You are right nala was scar's queen and together they had a cub and that cub was vitani
The video was 6 minutes ago yet it still has dislikes
That how u know your awesome
Thanks so much for this video!
Sarabi passing away by the second film makes sense
Especially because madge sinclair, her voice actress, died a year after the first movie was released
It's like sarabi was written out of the story
Legendary review, Issac. Thank you! 🦁
Love you channel
Been here since you started
That's awesome! Thank you for sticking around so long! Thanks for watching!
I agree, And I think it just adds to the circle of life law in the Lion King universe.
0:41 what do you mean spoilers? *EVERYONE'S SEEN IT*
5327indarkness - I have two friends who haven't seen it
5327indarkness it was for the one's that have not watched the movies
Has anybody else realized that when kiara looked in the puddle her reflection was sarabi
Huh?
No
Huh?
Sarabi is my favorite character in the movie I'm so glad u made this video
Holy crap, one of these TH-cam TLK life of X that's actually really good. And... subscribed! Would love to see one on Nala or Sarafina one day.
Machungwa63 YES YES SARAFINA!
Welcome to the party! So glad to hear you subscribed. Sarafina is a great idea by the way! Thanks for watching!
I always get excited when you upload videos! 😊
Glad to hear! I'm always excited to bring you more videos. Thanks for watching!
I believe that she died of natural cause before Kiara was born. Her being banned is silly because we would have seen her with the outsiders and Plus Simba loved his mother. Plus if she died in a gruesome manner, Simba, Nala, or Zazu would have mentioned it.
Sarabi has been my favorite since the beging
She's mine too!
“What are you doing son?”
“Pouncing”
“Let the pro show you how it’s done”
“What are you telling him Mufasa?”
“Pouncing lesson.”
“Oh very good...... POUNCING!? Oh no sire you can’t be serious”
Yzma backstory would be awesome
Agreed! She's hilarious! Thanks for watching!
Wotso Videos thanks for your videos they are awesome
Many clues to her dying, but I'd still like to think she's alive.
JoshuaTV20 -
IMDb confirmed it.
I wish they'd put Sarabi in the lion king 2
She could've seen her grandchild be presented to all at the ceremony but then not be shown up in the rest of the film, implying she passed away
Though maybe she could've been a background lioness watching her granddaughter go out for her first hunt? I have no idea, I guess I just kind of missed her in the lion king 2
We are doing the lion king for production at school, and I am playing Sarabi 😂😂😂
Hi wotso videos! Keep educating me more than my stupid textbook
Will do! Thanks for watching!
I love her ! Thank you for making this.
Wow, Sarabi was a very good mother, she's sweet, has a sense of humor and knows how to keep her children in line.
Well Sarabi like Mufasa has completed her journey in the circle of life 🦁🌅
@ Wotso Videos, This is such a good video 😝 Very interesting since THE LION KING live-action remake will be released in a few years or something.
they have relatives??, we need them in the series or a movie!!, also if Sarabi died (they could of found another voice actor like the rest of them), it would of been nice too actually see her with Mufasa up there.. not Scar tho...
6:11 Mufasa and Sarabi: (Individually and nonverbally to Simba) "I'm SO proud of you"
I think she may have gotten sick and she tried to hide it because she did not want them to worry about her and then one day she died. And maybe while she was sick (in my theory) she was in pain but knew she had lived for greatness. (The sickness wasn’t contagious.)
Sarabi' Actor: Madge Sinclair died before The Lion King II: Simba's Pride came out.
Zazu is the Disney version of those fairies in The Legend of Zelda.
Sarabi deserves a better life I wish she was alive when simba was king my favorite characters of the lion king are Nala and Sarabi my favorite characters in the lion king 2 are Kiara and Vitani
She gets overlooked so much, it is amazing that people barely notice her.
This was a pretty good one. I didn't know about the other stories and comics. I've always loved Sarabi. I was always kinda bummed she didn't get a bigger role in the Lion King.
What about Sarafina?
You should do the full story of Zazu
who are kristoff s parents
Literally have been wondering this.
Elsa she made him didn't u see in the movie
Maddie Flynn kristoff not olaf
I love Lion King. I have all the movies and the books about it like that short secret story you mentioned
I love Sarabi. Her voice is smooth and deep and she is very elegant and.
Wow that's so cool my password is Sarabi. Is that a coincidence
I can hear shadowland playing on the background
I believe Sarabi is still alive. She just doesn't have screen time is all, but she's there
Finally. Someone from 2019 commented lol
Thank you WATSO videos!!!!....you really give a lot of infos about my favorite cartoons
Sarabi was the most loyal guardian that ever served the Jedi she gave her life to protect us but her spirit lives in our collective history.
