Gods of Destruction vs. each other, and countless manga battles that had more martial arts elements than the anime scene's counterparts. All DBS scenes that have plenty of Martial arts. It's not like martial arts just disappeared from the franchise

Never forget that Jeice and Burter tried hitting Goku and their attacks fazed through him. He was moving so fast that to the outside eye it looked like they were fighting a mirage. I wish Super did more in terms of displaying Dragon Ball character’s true power.
By the time of the android saga, even the weakest z fighter was planet-buster level. They'd already been moving faster than a normal eye can see since the original dragon Ball. Goku powering up to ss3 the first time shook the whole planet. His fight with Beerus sent shockwaves through the entire universe. Once you reach that level, it's kinda hard to really show how much stronger these guys are getting.
That's why super sucks, when you make all the characters strong enough to destroy galaxies the show isn't fun, plus the animation, Jesus christ it's garbage...
Good point and its always every fight now is with an overpowered baddie that makes the heroes reach another new level. They are going to flood the show with a buncha pointless transformations and ruin so many other elements until, it is just.
Different audience, different generation, different times. We were lucky Dragonball was created in that era. If it began originally in the time DBS did it would be some very weird, bubbly, flashy, colorful, who-knows-what-else, type of thing that wpuld match what people are into these days as far as popularity in manga and anime goes

Jesus creates birds of clay and gives them life. Jesus brings the dead back to life and gives everlasting life to all who seek him. Goku's original speech to Frieza... "I am the hope of the universe." blends right in to Goku using his own power to bring the dead (the bird) back to life.
This is the kind of fighting I miss in later episodes and movies. Idk if it's a budget thing or what but I'd rather watch this than repeating frames of punches and constant powering up
