Why are you taking a bit of the coffee grounds out?
✨ The coffee recipe requires 23gr dose of the coffee ground, and most of the time, the grinder is being inaccurate, either giving me too much or too little, so I have to scoop it out :)

How to find a Barista work in Australia if I’m from another country?
✨ You have to obtain a visa that allows you to come, stay & work in here first, then you can apply for a Barista job. Most people from other countries (I was too) use Work & Holiday Visa.

After 10 years working in a cafe, i have a piece of advice: always have birthday candles, birthday hats and baloons ready in stock. You have no idea how many customers were asking for them, and thankful when we have them!
I liked the solo morning rush a lot because everything was serene and it has darkness with sunrise just beginning and people were coming out of bed for coffee, you were organizing everything, there were deliveries etc. Would like to see more of those early morning rushes (not necessarily solo).

I was wondering if there are days at Gordon's where things go wrong? Recently, at the cafe I work at, our coffee grinder just short-circuited and would not work at all. We had to go for an hour or two where we couldn't sell coffees (to our customers' displeasure :( ). Finally got maintenance to look at it and thankfully it was an easy fix. Have there been similar things at Gordon's that you may have video-documented? Would love to see how you and your team manage the difficult obstacles that come your way (if there are any!)
We had some of those moments before, not on camera and not often.. But I feel like our team is great, the owner is quite a handyman, and we can call the roastery to give us a brief instructions while they send out their maintenance team to come and check it out for us.. We have our lovely FOH staffs who would tirelessly telling every customers about the situation and apologising on our behalf and everyone have just been very understanding about it..
