    Nice project and explained very nicely. I can see designing a 2x2 tile project (4 tiles total) and then placing them next to each other on the bed and burning them all at once to make a design 8x8.

    Good video. Haven’t had any luck yet with tiles. Will try again, and will check out the shirt link. Thank you.

    I see that you have made some custom risers. I just bought that laser and would like to get a set. Even if they are just hold downs I like the idea of the machine lining up every time.

      moonshinecrafts.com/product/generic-laser-foot-mounts/ is for the mounting feet. I did not design any risers for this laser since I have others that I can adjust height on. Measure your leg thickness. Some are 4mm and some are 5mm.

    I spray painted some glazed white tile with black spray paint then engraved the tile. I love the way the laser looked through the black paint before wiping it off. My question is, Can I engrave glazed/unglazed black tile?

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, but results will vary. Depending on the composition of the tile. It may engrave white, gray, or black.

    Thanks for preparing this video. It has answered a lot of my questions. 1. I was thinking of making tiles as framed displays. Have you come across any wooden (picture) frames that work with the tile dimensions? 2. Have you tried using the Titanium-Alcohol solution method yet?

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Titanium Dioxide/Alcohol works well and cleanup is easy, but MUST be sprayed to get a uniform coating. Have never looked for frames as ours are for coasters or actual user on walls as tiles.

    Love your videos. Recently my wife and I purchased a Longer Ray5 10W. I downloaded the files for the tile projects. When I open up the Norton Tile test grid the power is set to 100% on all the layers. Do I have to change the power in the Lightburn file?

    Great video! You may have changed my mind about which model to get, so much choice! Do you recommend air assist with laser engraving? Great hair BTW.

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Air assist is good have when engraving wood and leather, etc. I do not use it when engraving ceramic tiles, slate, or stainless.

    Great video. Can you do the same thing with other colored tiles, not just white tiles? Many thanks for the ideas.

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. The larger tile in the video is not white, but an off-white with tan mottling.

    Another GREAT video! I think you have covered this before. But on the burn test grid, how does it adjust the power down. Looks like it is all 100%. Must be somewhere in LB you are telling it to decrease power as it goes across the grid by colors? Thank you! Steve

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, in the layers, power is set at different values for each square. I did not make this grid.

    • @slhasebroock
      @slhasebroock ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rogersshop Ya, found it in LB. For the benefit of others, you can change the power you want for each box in Shape Properties.

    Hi Roger. Did you ever manage to sort out the cable management for your ZBAITU 40W Laser Engraving Cutting Machine M81??? Many Thanks!

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      No. Rather than try to design a drag chain and some way to add air assist, I took one of my xTool D1 lasers and added the extension kit, then put a drag chain on it. th-cam.com/video/6JhksZasl6Q/w-d-xo.html

    hi, wot would u need to change if you wanted to burn a picture (as in say my wife) or would this not be good

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That can certainly be done. The photo needs to be setup with a high contrast first. You will need to try some experiments first to establish the best setting. Too complex to put into a comment reply and this would be an entire video subject. May do that in the near future.

    Im trying this method on my xtool 10w and only geting grays same paint. Is there something i could be doing wrong? Thank you

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you make a test grid tile first? There should be several squares that are black which will reference the best speed and power. Also, make sure your laser lens is clean! I've seen several instances where this is the problem.

    is there any others option for the spray paint?? other than that brand??

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use this brand and color due to the high level of Titanium Dioxide. Cheaper brands may (will) have lower levels. The higher the level, the better the result.

    what is the purpose of the paint? i asked a question, then you removed the paint. do the lasers come with instructions on how to do these test grids?

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The white paint contains titanium dioxide, which reacts with the laser beam, turning the engraving black. Once engraved, the white paint is removed with solvent and the remaining black engraving is permanent. without the paint, it will not make a visible engrave. Lasers do not come with any directions beyond assembly and startup.

  • @jinfolsom
    @jinfolsom 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Love the tile engravings. However, I noticed your price for the coasters was $2. How can you make any money with that? You have to have more than $2 of your time invested. For me that is less than 5min of time. then your cost and overhead plus profit.

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Mass production. I don't make one at a time as in this video. Made in lots of 12 per design, mostly unattended, on multiple lasers. Paint is applied via HVLP gun, 100 at a time. Clean off is in a 5 gallon bucket of acetone in large lots.
