There’s been two comments people have been leaving about this video I want to address:
1. I am aware this isn’t “every Zelda game” - I excluded portable Zelda titles or “NON MAIN CONSOLE” titles as I explained at 0:41
2. I am aware Demise is not Ganon. When I said “renamed” ganon to demise, I suppose I should have said “replaced”

I will say, Demise is the god of evil and Ganon is his reincarnation. Just like how Zelda is the reincarnation of the goddesses Hylia. Demise is the one that put the curse of reincarnation onto Zelda and Link.
The curse of Demise only follow their reincarnations it did not create it, reincarnation is just something that happen to everyone in Hyrule.
Ganon isn’t a reincarnation and Demise is already dead in the Master Sword at the end of Skyward Sword. The JP translation clarifies things better than the English translation (which is also wrong)
@@kleinsbottle I'm just basing it off the timeline videos from the people that did a lot of research, and according to them the Canon lore is that demise creates the curse, and Ganon is his reincarnation. The curse is that all three of them are doomed to be reincarnated and battle for all of eternity.
Alex Moon Demise’s “hold” on them was over once he’s defeated. And who are you going to believe when it comes to the reincarnation being a thing: a bunch of TH-camrs or the ORIGINAL INTENDED text?
@@kleinsbottle He curses them as he is defeated so that doesn't make sense. The TH-camrs that made the timelines showed evidence of the Japanese and English versions including the details you could only get in the books bought directly from Nintendo that had better explanations of the lore than some of the games provided. So I'm gonna believe that evidence that I've seen. If you want to link something else as evidence of your point you can and I'll totally watch it. But as of now the 100's of lore vids I've watched for fun ( not bragging about how many I've seen I'm just saying I have seen a lot so I'm not pulling anything out ma butt) and the 40 minute timelines are my basis.
Edit* I mean I just googled it and everything says Ganon is the mortal incarnation of Demise, just like Zelda is the mortal incarnation of Hylia. 🤷 It also remarks on the fact that Ganon's red hair is supposed to show the connection between the two.

The water temple will forever give me nightmares. As a kid it was incredibly confusing and I had to ask several friends what the hell I was supposed to be doing but when I finally went to beat it, I did it all in one sitting without realising I hadn't saved since the start conversation with princess ruto. I beat morpha and was so happy but being a dumbass little kid I just turned off my N64 and went to eat my dinner. After returning to my game I legit had a mental breakdown because it took me hours to beat that thing and I was going to have to do it all over again...
Thats why i preffer the remake a bit

its like graphics dont make a game good, but a good game with bad graphics can be remastered.
I think there's a huge difference between updated graphics and stylized graphics. 8bit can still be as beautiful as full 3d rendering but with 3d there's so much room for improvement that once you see it better it's really hard to go back. Also nostalgia filter makes us think that games always looked that good... They did not.

In the manga, when Ganon runs out of Castle Town on his horse and blasts Link with his golden ray, Link drops Saria's Ocarina, which Ganondorf mistakes for the Ocarina of Time, and steals it from Link. Link then goes and grabs the actual Ocarina of Time out of the moat.

To be fair, even some of the most hardcore fans can have trouble with the timeline and lore. I personally still have no clue what the point of Vaati is. Like, i know in Minish cap he wanted to get the light force so he could make fun of Ezlo, yadda yadda envy and pride... But what do the writers plan to do with him after that? Why is he teaming up with Dark Link and Ganon? Revenge on the Hylians?
And who the heck is Aghonim? Is he ganon in disguise or is he just a dick? (Lttp is the game i know the least about) And YUGA!? Why is this flamboyant clown who vaguely resembles Girahim trying to merge with Ganon?!
On a different note, anyone else find it weird that every game on the fallen timeline except for Triforce Heroes features the same incarnation of Demise? Like, it's not a new Ganon. They all have the same Ganon... Except Triforce Heroes which doesnt have any form of Ganon or demise.

@@bucket9144 I don’t know what the point of Vaati is because I haven’t played Minish Cap, I’m pretty sure Aganhim is another one of Ganon’s pawns who only exist to revive Ganon, and Yuga merged with Ganon so that he could acquire the Triforce of Power so the Lorule would have a Triforce again. Though I don’t even know if that’s how merging with Ganon works but okay.

Damn, I really feel like I'm one of the only ones that truly loved Skyward Sword. It had its fair share of issues, but I was able to look past them and really enjoy the game.
My 2nd fave Zelda game..it's so fun and beautiful in all aspects! Although I did tire a bit of the imprisoned..and the medusa squid was not so beautiful
@@lizardman6515 Same, behind BotW! I will admit that the imprisoned was terrible. Tantalus was disgusting, Fi could be rather annoying (not nearly as much as Navi tho), and the motion controls were a bit iffy sometimes, but not too bad. Other than that, I loved the game. Fantastic story, awesome characters, probably the best zelda/link chemistry in any game, graphics were great for its time, and one of the best soundtracks as well. It's hands down the most under appreciated game.
Sam Korican me too! It’s my favorite Zelda game. From the story to the soundtrack to the world... it was so beautiful. I don’t think I’ll ever understand why people dislike it. It’ll always be the best Zelda game to me.
Its a great game, its just being compared to all of the other Zeldas so its a pretty tough crowd. Skyward sword is the second best Assassin's Creed after Pirate Fantasies and might even beat Sephiroth for best Final Fantasy.
It has the best combat in my opinion and best dungeon in the sky loft dungeon and my favorite villain but it’s world is lackluster, still a great game.

Yeah, they changed the primary antagonist’s name to Demise in Skyward Sword. That’s because the primary antagonist isn’t Gannon. Skyward Sword takes place at the very beginning of the entire timeline, and every reincarnation of Gannon is actually a reincarnation of Demise.
THANK YOU. It bothered me so much to watch the entire Skyward Sword segment. Clearly didn't get the entire idea about the game, and what it stands as in the Zelda lore.
Except for the fact that there is no reincarnation of Ganon. Each Ganon/Ganondorf you see is the one from Ocarina. Fallen timeline, it’s beast Ganon that some wizard or someone brought back. Never reincarnated. Child timeline, Ganondorf is sealed away in the twilight realm until he breaks free using Zant. Then is “killed.” Adult timeline, also same Ganondorf who is sealed in the sacred realm until he breaks free in wind waker, until Link kills him. It is even theorized that the Ganondorf from BotW 2, is the same exact Ganondorf, just kept alive and paralyzed by some magic of some sort.
Emily Norris Okay, but even if he is just resurrected every time it’s still a resurrection of the reincarnation of Demise. It says it pretty clearly in the final fight of Skyward Sword, just like the Hero’s and Hylia’s spirits are reincarnated for every Link and
Zelda, so is Demise’s spirit for every incarnation of Gannon. Just because something is resurrected doesn’t mean that it becomes a completely new being.
Austin Cote I never meant that he wasn’t the reincarnation of Demise’s evil. I just meant that there was one reincarnation because the Ganondorf didn’t die in ocarina. And in the fallen timeline it was the same Ganon brought back to life. He still is the reincarnation of Demise but it isn’t multiple ones

I have grown to appreciate Skyward Sword. The story telling is the best in the series, and Groose is probably my favourite character. I loved the motion controls, the rpg elements and the final boss fight. For me, SS has the 2nd best dungeons in the series after Twilight Princess. For all of it’s flaws, it is still a memorable Zelda game. (I nearly cried on 2 occasions with Zelda and later Fi.) I also enjoy watching people rage in the silent realm. I remember thinking if Skyward Sword elicits those kind of emotions in me, then maybe it’s not such a bad game.

I love SS and TP, they are the only 2 games I was able to play, and now I'm playing Botw. Definitely my top 3!!
How could anyone rage in the silent realm? They're the easiest parts of the entire game. SS is just terrible, honestly. Even the first boss would make you want to ragequit and that's ridiculous, especially since the boss fights afterward are incredibly easy to beat. The story is actually pretty basic and irritating, especially since the dragon in Faron Woods constantly forgets literally every single thing you've done for not only him but for everyone else so he constantly tests you even though you've already proven your worth 50 other times. A lot of people had terrible motion control experiences, I'm one of them. Some challenges seemed like they were untested and you could *barely* slip through them, such as hitting 10 targets on your loftwing in 120 seconds, all to battle 1 boss which is irrelevant to the entire game apart from telling you where you can get notes for the final song in the game.
It also overuses motion controls a lot, which just makes the entirety of the game really uncomfortable to control and obnoxiously annoying, to be frank.
THANK YOU! This game is so under appreciated! The music, characters, and story are BEAUTIFUL! (Lore and character wise. I can see the repetitive basic revisits of the areas being boring to people and needing reworking along with the motion controls) If BOTW and Skyward Sword ever combined strengths, there would be no better game IN EXISTENCE.
@@Kaempfdog The music and characters are fine, but the story is awful. It's repetitive and bland. Most other Zelda games don't have that level of repetitiveness in their stories. It also just makes no sense. Zelda's in a crystal sleep to maintain seals but the seals are just broken anyway, one time even within a day of each other in-game, if that. The game would be much less boring if we were able to explore more than just the Sealed Temple when we go back in time. But we can't, and characters constantly forget what you do for people and put you through more excruciatingly annoying tests which are unnecessary overall. It honestly just seems like Nintendo felt like they needed to add *something* to the end because they felt like the game was too short. The game just feels like a constant chore.

I have always been 'aware' of Zelda, but it was only at the end of 2019 (when my little brother started wanting a Switch) that I properly got into the series. And I must say, as someone who dove into the series all-at-once - as opposed to having been a lifelong fan - I absolutely fell in love with Skyward Sword. I really can't debunk any of your points (really, i get it. I can definitely see why longtime fans don't like it), but I think a big factor of my opinion is that I don't judge it on gameplay - or how it compares to previous games (again, the series was not part of my childhood) - but rather the overall 'feel' of it (the story, the characters, the music etc.). And on those points, I was genuinely hit right in the feels, especially when it comes to Link and Zelda.
And also, I really agree with you on graphics. Of course I notice when graphics are good, but I don't factor them in my rating of a game. That's actually one of he reasons I love the Zelda series. Each of the games (at least the main console ones) have a certain look or 'feel' to them:
Wind Waker has a timeless cutesy artstyle.
Twilight Princess has typical mid-2000s realistic graphics (i.e. brown), though with a very certain aesthetic.
Skyward Sword is a goddamn painting.
And Breath of the Wild is just... beautiful.

There was so much to love about Skyward Sword, even if it wasn't perfect... And while some boss fights weren't so innovative, Koloktos remains one of my favourites next to Stallord of Twilight Princess. I wished they'd bring back some of the plot elements instead of focusing so heavily on the open world as they did in BotW. :(

Jokes aside, MM has my favorite dungeons, especially the Stone Temple.
I don't how some people say that Majora's Mask has underwhelming dungeons if this applies perfectly for Breath of the Wild. Stone Tower Temple alone is better than all of the Divine Beasts, the Divine Beasts are the worst 3D zelda dungeons by far, they are lazy, repetitive, they simply suc* .

Ocarina was my first Zelda back in 2003 when I was 5. I loved this game, The music is good too. I always idled around the forest temple to hear that awesome yet spooky music. And honestly fuck the water temple..then after a year, I finally beat the game...yes that is a long time but I was 5 lol I discovered Majora's mask afterwards and it's definitely in my top 3 favorite Zelda games. The number 1 spot is a tie between majora and twilight..I can't choose because twilight has a special place in my heart

Twilight Princess is my no.1 favourite game. (Along with a couple others but TP was also the first Nintendo game I ever properly played)

Phantom Hourglass is Such a good sequel to wind waker you need to play it
Eh it's definetly one of the weaker game in the series. And as someone who enjoy music in Zelda games, Phantom Hourglass had the most barebone soundtrack of any Zelda games. Which is why I prefer it's sequel, Spirit Tracks.

I Enjoyed Phantom Hourglass alot,I see People Disliking it but I for one enjoy The Sense of A entity Destroying the entity that protects the sea,plus It's a nice Game And yeah the graphics arent perfect but I for one Would like to see More people Give it some attention it deserves
I've played all the way through Skyward Sword twice and had 0 issues with the motion control. Feel most of issues people had were user error. Also my top 3 game.

I think this is my favourite video of yours, and I’ve never even played a Legend of Zelda game before.
If you want to start out it depends on the game you like things like minish cap the dungeons kind of act like a little dungeon crawler and the story in every game is great but in BOTW most people love it. Also just don’t start with tri force hero’s or either of the four swords they break the formula a bit with multiplayer and really don’t feel like a zelda game by the same logic BOTW isn’t the best game to start with
ive only played BOTW and honestly its the best game ive ever played. Its so thought through. It feels like it took 6+ years to make. i recommend it to anyone who wants to experience a quality game

I wouldn't have put majora's mask at a 10 either there are a decent amount of annoyances and problems one of which being most of the more open areas being very bland and empty, partially due to hardware of course but still not that excusable

You can still find things in them.
I actually consider Ocarina of Time worse with the open areas like Hyrule Field. The n64 zelda games aren't for you then and yes, it is the Hardware, also, the framerate in the 64 zeldas is very bad (20fps on NTSC or 17fps on PAL).
The N64 doesn't have good memory and it creates many problems.

I didn't think there was a single Zelda game I hated either until I played the ridiculously repetitive Skyward Sword. I mean seriously, after you go through all of this stuff to just get upgrades for your sword to make it the Master Sword, you've proven your worth on numerous occasions, and then the dragon in Faron Woods still wants to "test your worth" by hiding around musical notes to learn 1 song
Not only is it annoying that literally everyone forgets everything you've done for them, but it's just insanely inconsistent with gameplay.
You go to the same floating island to learn new songs on your harp thing, but apparently not the last song, and you have to go through even MORE stuff just to get pieces of that song to play it, which is absurdly obnoxious and irritating. I actually gave up on ever trying to beat the game because of having to learn the final song and go through so much more bull just to learn the 1 song in order to progress to beat Demise. Everyone wants you to beat Demise but still love wasting your time with useless challenges and tests to "prove your worth" when you've already proven it 50 times.
I'd rather play a modded Ocarina of Time where everywhere is just a constant Water Temple than ever have to play Skyward Sword in my life. It's just that annoying.

• Agree that Breath of the Wild is a masterpiece (it’s up in my top 3 Zeldas)
• Agree that Skyward Sword deserves its lower score, BUT it is partially redeemed by having the ANCIENT FREAKING CISTERN, the absolute GOAT of Zelda dungeons
• Agree that Twilight Princess is a beautiful, masterfully crafted game (my #1 favorite)
• Agree that Wind Waker is unique and beautiful and fun (although, purely due to its fierce competition, it is lower on my list of favorites)
• Hardcore disagree with your judgement of Majora’s Mask. That game is a beautiful, odd, dark, melancholy treasure of a game with the most fascinating world and endearing side characters in the series. And as punishing as the time system is, it’s a brilliant mechanic that allows for unique and compelling gameplay (This one is definitely in my top 3 favorites)
• Now, I love Ocarina of Time, especially since it was the first Zelda game I played as a wee lass (and it ignited my love of the series in the first place)... But I see it as the equivalent of Star Wars: A New Hope. A timeless classic and a fun adventure, but surpassed by better sequels (like Majora’s Mask, the Empire Strikes Back of Zelda games.) Is it amazing? Yes. Does it deserve a 10/10? Maybe, but I just think other games deserve it more (it’s #4 on my list.)

Christian Opper the aesthetic design, the music, the connection to the classic short story “The Spider’s Thread”, the Buddhist themes, the Heaven and Hell motifs, and the accompanying contrast in vibes between the two areas. Absolutely gorgeous, mysterious, and atmospheric dungeon. Definitely the dungeon I would most like to explore if it existed irl.

As far as Ocarina of Time goes. You need to look at from the right perspective. Basically rate it fairly in conjunction with it's relative release date. If you look at Ocarina of Time specificaly from it's own personal mark in history and the very moment it was released to everyone it would be hard to deny that it was in fact a masterpiece. Same goes for Link To The Past who many of the older fans consider the true best in the series. But yes. There have been plenty of obvious improvements to the series since Ocarina's time. No doubt about that.
Yeah, personally I didn’t underxtand how he praised twilight princess for its “creepy themes” but not majora. Majoras mask is, in my subjective opinion, a beautiful masterpiece. The stone tower temple is my favorite dungeon as well.

It was actually released for both the wii and the GameCube. It was originally intended for the GameCube but was delayed so it could be out for the Wii, and for some extra content and such. It was released first for wii in November of 2006, with the GameCube release in December

I’m in the minority that really enjoyed Skyward Sword. I agree, some of the bosses (especially The Imprisoned) I didn’t like at all, and the overworld in the sky was lackluster, but there were many aspects of this game I enjoyed. I’ll defend this game until my dying breath 😂

Ocarina is great but overrated it is amazing but not a PERFECT GAME as I hear from many people it has issues like navi and hyrule field being an empty time waster but it is still a great game and definitely ahead of its time.
