This is one of Mayhem's very best songs, in my opinion. I had just turned 20, everything was seemingly crumbling around me and I found myself drinking way too much, about 4 nights of every week (what I previously said I had given up doing, and frowned upon it), stumbling around town as a gloomy, bitter shadow in the evening, before heading home. I frequently tuned in to Mayhem's discography as I had been doing for a few years prior (mostly DMDS, OAC and WLA), but as I clicked with this track and seasoned my ears to it, something dawned on me, deeper inside. Put in a really simplistic way, the gist was : "Fuck it, there's nothing left of all that you saw yourself as being to lose, that image is dead, in fact, dust, so get up and move on." I ended up gradually reducing the booze intake, moved towards more avant-garde BM when I wasn't listening to the more folk-based stuff, and started getting into all sorts of obscure and complex stuff that took a while to grasp, which I am really thankful for (not just because of this particular track, I have to say), and developing interests in various other subjects. This video just popped up on my recommended list, so I decided to give it a play, for a weird sense of nostalgia and a reminder of how things ended up. Fucking amazing, in an extremely dark and introverted way, despite the corny make-up and stage performance (imo) during the album's tour.
Seriously underrated off beat masterpiece. This song connects with me on a deep, resounding level.
It is underrated.
True black metal! Godamn I miss the 90s. Too many great metal bands to list. The glory dsays
Gehenna is among those bands. Truly, truly underrated
Underrated.
Even the Mayhem fans dont know how great this song is.

Te serduszka niespecjalnie pasują do utworu którego właśnie słuchasz
@@VCN01 Kiedy to są czarne serduszka.
I czyż nie można kochać black metalu?
Do you hear with eyes?
The universe is crunching
After the war... silence
Not in the black hole of stretched time
You ones had blood in your veins
The blood so black it hurts
Remembrance is torn away
I offer cosmos in my design
Chromosome needles in your arms
The suffering of a thousand voices
My science hurts
Values arises from pain
Birth is pain
Kaosconstruction not my game
No fairytales from dust dead books
Birth is pain

Intense
listening in 2025 for first time complete. for some reason id skipped this one upon hearing clean vocals.
on headphones this album is a trip.
So cold
Maniac actually singing? Is there more of this anywhere? I find it oddly nice for some reason.
It's Øyvind Hægeland from Spiral Architect doing the clean stuff. Love that part too!
@@Alcoholocaustia thank you very much. Sounds like I have another band to check out.
Best Metallica song covered by ghost
Lol no
Nice
Opening reminds me of Black Sabbath
Kalt wie das Eis.
A very ominous record, at some moments it looses a little appeal for me, but god damn this song. Every other track seems to be flawless, I’ll have the CD one day haha.
How many fucken' adds during one song?
Should be a crime.
Rip dead and euronomouys

It is hard to take this music serious for me . The music is good but the voice - sounding like a demonic type- you see it live and think to yourself " What am I doing?"
Sometimes the composition is so good that You have to use your ears and mind to lower the undesirable features in the mix and it's worth it to do so
