Players: omg you get more fundamentals when you acquire more transformations? that's so cool and thoughtful. Devs: guys did we run out of space on the 1st tab? throw everything else on the last tab
also one of the reasons so many people confused on this: they add the "View transfomation" button in the skill upgrade itself, so naturally people will think that only applied to the transfomation.
I'm in shock. I alway thought they should have the stats panel right beside the upgrade page so you can see the immediate effects. Thank you for this vital info.
yeah I stumbled across this too... best thing is the upgrades are cheaper / more effective in the transformations foundations section than in the proper foundations tab - i.e. more stats per spark
This was something the devs should have definitely explained. I stayed completely away from the transformations upgrades oage because i thought they only worked while transformed/ for that transformation ONLY. things can be very situational in this game and i thought this was one of those things
same, combat seemed best when fighting with a stick + dodging than transforming. I ONLY transform into Wolf if the boss has a quarter or less HP left and if there's anything left, I finish him off while still being monkey by default. Meaning I will always stick to having a transformation that lasts for a short time, there's far more benefit to investing in martial arts and/or resistance or skills than transformation. But now I know these transformation skills at the top directly affect base stats, its too bad we didn't know this sooner.
@@drakke125Channel that’s the wrong strategy, you should use the transformation early in a boss fight for the free HP health bar and damage dealing and then later on in the boss fight you can transform one more time after the cooldown into the wolf or something else to get another free, HP health bar and more damage dealing.
Realized this the other day and it was mind blowing, it’s a game changer especially with the upgrade you get from acquiring yellow loong which increases the activation window for see through parry’s
Among the many things I find hard and frustrating about this game, the skill tree and descriptions of skills are the worst! Thanks for this, super useful!
Oh, I on the other hand never noticed the "press Y", so I understood it correctly as being fundamental upgrades. But had I seen the "press Y" on my own, I would have thought it counted towards "only when transformed as well". Definitely a bit of a UI confusion there hehe. 🙂
Yeah I started suspecting this when I saw there was an upgrade that didn't match with the transformation it was associated with, I don't remember what specificallu but it was like increasing the fire damage on a transformation that din't have fire attacks or something like that. At that point I figured those effects must be valid in any state and not only for the transformation.
They should add an option to see the stats sheet so we can actually know how much "slightly or moderately raises" actually means in terms of numbers, like when you equip spirits.
I realized this at 167 hours. I really enjoyed this game but honestly these small buffs don’t help much on Ng+5 but still helpful for Ng+1 so definitely definitely worth it.
Wat? 😮 Like, wow, I'm glad that you tell us your findings. Because I just finished my first playthrough, and I was wondering how can I still improve my Destined One. Well, will put in some spark over there too in the future.
def fought with this in my head for hours. glad you actually checked the stats and noticed a difference because i 100% thought you had to have the transformations equipped and im on NG+3 LOL
I did find it funny that some stats did not apply or make little to no sense for the/specific transformation. Like cold resistance, once transform you just rely on the might gauge.
I was literally wondering about this recently in Ch 3 and 4.....now I know for certain these actually are stat buffs for the player's base stats, NOT for their Transformed state.
I was the opposite, I immediately knew what those upgrades were about the first time reading them, but never leveled them up, because I like more active spells/skills/abilities than those passive powers.
Yeah that confused me for a very long time and I ignored it thinking they were linked to the transformations in the preview. Only very late in the game because someone said those main icons' buffs are general I realised that. They confused the issue by showing the respective characters in the preview.
Yeah I unlocked those just before Erlang on my first run. I didnt know either. I originally thought it would up the defense of that specific transformation and not my foundational skills
Worst thing in the game is the slow input when using medicines. Brand new controller and it just don’t wanna play ball sometimes. Gets me killed more than it benefits.
@@parkout95on new game plus going on my second run, so cool seeing all of the bosses again and even when you thought you seen everything on the first run you catch something new on the second run.
I knew those were static buffs. I didnt know they were tied to transformation unlocks. I thought they were unlocked with levels. So now i see its benefiticial to try and get all the transformations
Damn I was just wondering the same thing bc I noticed my defense went up after but I thought it would only be for transformations. They really should’ve outlined that or not put a video of you transforming lol
New vid is up go watch it: th-cam.com/video/eOKsBRhUcKs/w-d-xo.html

Devs: guys did we run out of space on the 1st tab? throw everything else on the last tab
😂
Hey, don’t blame devs. It’s always a product manager or designers
Amazing! I also thought it's only related to the transformation itself.
same... maybe in my 401 hour playing i might figured that out! but thanks to this video 🤣

I guessed it because it didn't say specifically for transformations, but I just made sure I had it all sparked up as an ocd thing.
This was very helpful… and That lil “thanks for watching” at the end just gained you a subscriber
Same. 👊

@@drakke125Channel I used smash stance through the entire game. And pretty much only used the first 4 spells and spirit attack i got.

Wow so I don’t even need to have it equipped to take effect? Nice, now I need to try it, really useful to know. Thanks!
Realized this the other day and it was mind blowing, it’s a game changer especially with the upgrade you get from acquiring yellow loong which increases the activation window for see through parry’s
It’s great because this is how you upgrade elemental damage.
Among the many things I find hard and frustrating about this game, the skill tree and descriptions of skills are the worst! Thanks for this, super useful!
I love the “moderately” and “massively” increases things that give you like +1, or +2 to a stat 😂 that’s some next level cope on the descriptions
Thanks for the info. I had thought it was transformation too
So when I go spell binder I should be upgrading those too?!?
Wow, that's actually really helpful. Thanks for pointing this out. I never saw the point in upgrading the transformations before.
Nice had no clue
When I saw the title I said it would be classic nonsense, I'm shocked, brother, you gave me a reason to play another 100 hours more.
NO WAY !! I HAD NO IDEA this is now a game changer for me
Oh, I on the other hand never noticed the "press Y", so I understood it correctly as being fundamental upgrades. But had I seen the "press Y" on my own, I would have thought it counted towards "only when transformed as well". Definitely a bit of a UI confusion there hehe. 🙂
Wow, I NEVER put points here because I felt it was a waste to buff a transformation
That was very useful, I never realised that! Thanks for uploading this, now I can become a tank for when the DLC comes :)
Yup. The game doesn't explain it at all. I realized after 200 hours myself.
sigh... time to install back
Incredible! I also just automatically assumed they only affect the link transformation! Thanks for this info! Subscriptions earned!
yup, that are some additional buffs to your foundation, my first unlock was Cold Edge that gives you cool down for cloud step, super handy!

You are the man!! Thank you for this amazing and game changing information!!
Lol how were we supposed to know, thought they were stats for each transformation individually, thanks so much for this info ! God bless you

I think it is still related to transformation. The defense score you see it overall defense with your everything armor, drinks, transformations
I did find it funny that some stats did not apply or make little to no sense for the/specific transformation. Like cold resistance, once transform you just rely on the might gauge.
I realised this today actually since it never say that it's only for the transformation! Btw, hiii Aziz! So Glad I found your YT channel
I'm in Chapter 3 of my first playthrough rn and this is so helpful, thanks for sharing lol
Yeah they didn't specify that upgrade path and I found out myself by testing it, the defense is an easier one to test with detailed UI mod...
I kinda wondered if maybe those stats worked for all the transformations.. but never thought it'd be foundation. Thats wild dude nice find!
I didn’t peep this until my THIRD PLAY-THROUGH
Thanks gonna use this in my current ng+ run
I was literally wondering about this recently in Ch 3 and 4.....now I know for certain these actually are stat buffs for the player's base stats, NOT for their Transformed state.
I was actually just thinking about this! I had a hunch and wanted to test but was too lazy but now you saved me some time
I assumed this from day 1 so I leveled those up immediately.
Same

damn and here i thought the first foundation was the strongest i can get now you’re saying i can even become stronger

Lol. Now i wanna play the game once more
Sir wym once more, it's a sin to not had played this AT LEAST 3 times
@@parkout95on new game plus going on my second run, so cool seeing all of the bosses again and even when you thought you seen everything on the first run you catch something new on the second run.
The game has a lot of UX problems, which is common on Chinese softwares. I love the game, but definitely more room for improvements.
Wow thanks I was wondering about this if they only applied while transformed or normal character . Thank you
🤯 genuinely! Thanks for sharing this my guy
Wow. Had no clue. I didn't even touch those transformation nodes because I don't really like the ones I have.
Oh hey, just saved me 300 hours. Thank! :))
this is huge knowledge for my first playthrough, thanks buddy!
What is a talent level?
Is the main levels that provides sparks?
Thank you, it was so confusing to figure out 😭
I didn't realize that too, but it makes total sense.
I was wondering the whole time if those were for transformation or just our character. Thanks dude
I was so confused because I always thought these skills have nothing to do with transformations, thanks
I am going to play it for the first time and I just saw ur video before playing, ty soo much, I think it can help
thanks for sharing I didnt know that, it definately will cause me to rethink how I balance my sparks.
No way... didn't know either, thank you very much for sharing!
Bro, thank you, I have been wondering about that since I started that helps a ton!
Thanks for letting us know
Yes, I also learned this only midway of my second run lol
This is great! We've been misled LoL. I'm in the end of chapter 4. Great timing for this, thanks!
Yeah the game is not clear about a lot of things for example took me an entire play-trough to realise I could change the passives in the relics
well god damn, this video deserve more love
Yeah it's only after I gotten Yin Tiger's transformation and saw the skill do I then realized the intended transformation upgrade is to buff Wukong
makes me want to go n add all those full that seems like a big diffence for just 2 sparks no?
yeah i figured this out on my second playthrough once i started having spare sparks. Very easy to miss!
mind blown... i did not know this. Thanks bud
Bro they need to hire you as QC specialist
Thanks for explaining this, I also thought was only for transformations.
Thanks man! I just started the game 2 days ago and I was curious about this
This is huge. I was doing nothing with these because I too thought it was transformation related!
THANK YOU FOR THIS INFO!!! YOU EARNED A SUB SIR

You just gained a sub. I was wondering this but didn't know.
I never facepalmed myself soo hard in my life
This is actually big brain stuff
I was today years old. Thanks my guy.
Damn, thank you so much. You earned a new subscriber today!
Subbed this is great thank you for this. Where are you from?? I love the accent!
Amazing discovery thank you
News to me! That is so confusing! Thank you.
I'm shocked on why the game had to make it so complicated
I kinda had a feeling since there was an upgrade for perfect dodges
Damn I never would’ve known that, thank you
Damnnnnn, build about to be even more crazyyy affffff
Nice. I also thought those are related to transformations. Good to know.
Yeah, I figured that out too. Currently on NG+ 2.
What... After over 200+ hours.. I didn't notice that .🤦🤦🤦
Why my transformation screen dont look like that?!
Thanks for this clarification , you got a subscribe.
i legit did not know that. Welp, time to upgrade all of em😂
Super confusing, why did they lay it out that way lol
Thx, I unlocked all achievements without knowing this 😅, I thought I had to equip a transformation to have its status.
