@chrisperez3614 The biggest difference is those other 2 countries share their culture. China does not. You have to dig to find it. Indian Mythology is not terribly well known in the U.S. either. Nor Vietnamese or Tibetan or Laotian
Fun fact: Resolute strike is also a counter that nullifies any damage, which the game refers to as "seeing through the enemy". As long as you have at least one focus charge you can use light attacks, and when enemies swing at you during your combo, right before you get hit, hit your heavy attack button. It's actually really effective for building focus and staying aggressive in fights.
@@zZiL341yRj736 If you're not getting it to work, your timing is off. You also have to be mid combo since Wukong unlike Soulslike games allows you to combo cancel.

Here’s a tip for new people use staff spin and max out staff spin in skill tree you will see the last one will give you massive amount to focus points every time the staff hits
I was today years old when I learned you could just reignite single sparks instead of the all of them at once. Another great video. You explain everything so quickly and concise. You get a sub from me.
Thank you, for the tips just started playing yesterday and beat a few bosses( the guy who has a second form turns into a snake) with barely any upgrades.
Very Happy that you are covering that game man, cant stand most of the mainstream Dudes making videos about it. Thank you for your time, loved everything you did for HFW.
If you wanna get great at perfect dodging use the entire first stamina tree. The extra stamina and the agility you get is amazing. I’ve spent my entire playthrough never using a heavy attack yet but just dodging and using light attacks and spells. Your guide actually taught me how to use heavy attacks, so thank you.
I learn a lot from this one video of yours than a bunch of videos from other gamer youtubers. No wonder I'm only subbed to you. The way you think and present what info is valuable and practical are brilliant and very helpful. Especiall hitting that light attack button one by one instead of button mashing. Thanks man.
Top tier content from Arktix, as always. I'm stuck on Tiger Vanguard right now but this vid showed me a few things I definitely did not know. Going back to look for that stamina charm now. Thanks dude!
Just like with Horizon, the absolute best videos / help out there. It is very complex and a lot to learn (just like Horizon) and I tend to button smash. With your help I am motivated to keep at it and knowing eventually It'll click as it did with Horizon. Thank you so much for you're work.
Really happy that I found your channel and this video! Love the way you present your recommendations and tips. It’s so easy to follow along and learn from you❤
@degollador3able The way it works is that it will refill a gourd use. So one floaty spirit is one gourd use, and some will, while two floaty spirits will refill two gourd uses and some will. It is something you get in chapter 1 shortly after fighting the big wolf. I think I must of grabbed a spirit with a full gourd so I didn't notice.
@@qazz6209 I have returned to say you are in fact correct. Later on you will come across green wisps with 2 or even 3 wisps in one go which awards more will (money) and you get 1 gourd charge (heal) per wisp, so if you have a full gourd and are hurt and come across a wisp, heal, then pick up the wisp!
Take the dodge keeps light attack chain skill and perfect dodge heavy attack focus skill omg . The sheer way you can mince and match the skills to suit your playstyle is just amazing
Your voice is so pleasant to listen too and everything is explained very well. And thanks for the very essential information. Just started playing and I'm on chapter 2. Going to check the other vidoes. :)
I put my first 30 points purely into the light attack tree and stam/crit and immo. i'ts a good way to really focus on basics in the first chapter. there's a skill in the light attack tree that allows you to dodge in the middle of your light attack combo and pick up the combo where you left off, and it trains you very well to look for incoming attacks, and reacting. The "see through" focus ability is safer and easier but if you lean on it too hard you won't build reaction reflexes as good.
I run smash stance and I slept on Mobile Spin, and it's upgrades for too long. I am in chapter 4 now, and mobile spin allows me to turn bosses into jokes. It gives a lot more focus, and Qi builds up based on hits, which means you get a ton of Qi for transformations and spirits.
Bro thank you! Im stuck at work right now I can't wait to go home and try all this! I just started the game last night and I'm loving it. I didn't know most of this stuff at level 9
I think you forgot to mention/maybe didn't know, that in any kind of fights (even some boss special attacks) if you fell down, you can quickly get up or avoid attacks using "dodge" button, even while laying down. Really helpful when you got hit by first of multiple attacks of an enemy.
Helped me throughout all of Horizon: Forbidden West. Now let's do the same for Black Myth: Wukong! Also, little extra tip/trick: you can enable damage numbers in the menu too. Little less immersive, but it will show you actual damage numbers!
Not sure if you just saved it for another video, but you didnt mention here the main point of Resolute Strike, which is to 'see through' the enemy. If you time the heavy attack just as the enemy is attacking, you will 'see through' which means completely avoiding any damage from that attack. It also lets you restart the light attack chain from the 3rd/4th (cant remember which off hand) light attack in the usual chain so you get back to the 5th attack finisher quicker.
Thanks, as an older gamer this info is gold dust! Started off finding this game a breeze abit have quickly become stuck and angry at it. Think I need to respec my points.
I like your vid but I disagree about the early sparks, probably more important to investing a bit in rolling and light attacks first since they will be what you do the most. And for stance, in the beginning only invest in one stance at a time so you get as far down the skill tree as possible because they get so much better that way, and just respark when you want to play with a different stance.
I'm at the end of the first stage.... I had no idea how heavy attacks worked this entire time. I thought you HAD to charge them up to use them. So I thought of them as useless in boss battles. The whole time I was like: I don't get what focus charges are exactly. I was relying so heavily on the light attack combo. I'm so dumb. I think you've made the game a lot easier for me. 😂
I wont believe, i discovered i can jump half way through chapter 2. That too cuz i saw shorts of people jumping. I was like huh? 😮 and opened the controls. And bam! 🤩🥳
finally, you will get max 4 focus points, but the last one has to be fuel from hitting monters, not by holding heavy attack charging. and the last one disappears over time if you don't hit monsters to keep it.
07:35 actually if you doing light then heavy with more than 1 focus point and your stafff/crudgel isn't glowing red, you are not performing resolve resolution at the right timing, and it won't trigger the follow skills:invigoration ,Vantage Point the right timing to do the heavy attack is when the foe's attack is about to hit you.

One major tip you forgot to mention, under Smash Stance if you choose the resolute column, it allows you to parry attacks if you press the heavy attack button just as an enemy is about to strike
I did discuss Resolute Strike actually. Personally, wouldn’t call it a parry because it doesn’t cancel the enemy’s attack, but it does allow you to avoid/minimize damage.
@@ArktixOfficial If you Google it, Resolute Strike in Wukong is considered a parry mechanic. When you time it correctly, it nullifies all damage. Another mechanic that allows parrying is Rock Formation.
Yes, cancels damage against you, but resolute strike does not cancel the enemy’s attack. Personally I would call rock solid a parry or “parry-like” because it cancels the enemy’s attack and staggers them. I would not call Resolute Strike a parry because, while it does mitigate damage to you, it does not actually cancel the enemy’s attack or stagger them. Only the actual hit from your attack can stagger them and that can happen at any time, not just when they’re attacking you. And usually you need to go all the way to Skyfall Strike to get a stagger.
@@ArktixOfficial technically by definition a parry is just deflecting an attack, whether they stagger or not isn't necessary towards being a parry although it does help. I do agree Rock Formation is a better parry overall but it's limited, resolute strike is great for side enemies throughout the world rather than having to dodge every time you hit them with a few light attacks.
