Being 68 years old all the adult folks I grew up around were survivors of the Great Depression and WW2 their parents born in the1800's or very early 1900's. Gardening, canning, hunting, and fishing was just a normal way of life. They really looked down on people who couldn't take care of themselves.

That’s what I just said, I live in North Pole and I have a 300 Gal tank in the back of my truck with a 12gpm pump. It’s a necessity.

I live in Alaska and we all have auxiliary tanks in our pickups. We use them for diesel, heating fuel #1 and #2, it’s just a common things here. A must have.
I prefer the concept of bugging in!

You don’t take the main roads, you can take trails from Mexico up Idaho in the area I live in. Canyons work best if there’s no rain.
Don’t ruin elk and fine cuts with smoking. Use the bad bits for that.
