@@sijojohnson that is the egr cooler, the two holes at the top are where engine coolant loops in and out, I have this engine (f6ja) and thinking of doing just this but can’t seem to find a rebuild kit anywhere online :(

@@neilscott7487 I had already looked but couldn’t find a complete kit, I’ll probably have to buy it all separately but either way it desperately needs doing as it has 230k on it and is leaking oil from the sump and at the cam shaft housing, not to mention the worn out tappets and worn cam lobes 🤦♂️
How has the engine been after the rebuild. Is it reliable?
So far so good now the vehicle has more than 550000km
Had to rebuild mine on 270 000 cuz bad fuel and hot sandy conditions , lost an injector too, cheers from Algeria.
hello there, I am about to rebuild mine on fiesta beacause of oil consumption and bad compression. how yours is going so far?
@@medk460 had to change one connecting rod after measurements, piston rings , o rings , seals,gaskets ..., had to machine the crankshaft, change oil pump, valvs (they need to be rubbed for a while so they feet in the cylinder head), put new jackets inside the cylinders, injectors cleaned and checked,general cleaning of the engine block, change the belts and tensioner, I'll probably will change the air conditioning gas, and maybe I'll give a check to the pump that is inside the fuel tank, clutch is ok, turbo seem fine just need cleaning, , so need another few days.

Is machining required after changing piston rings?
If the engine block is OK than you can install piston rings with no machining but if it's not OK than you have put sleeves

Check the ground point under the battery they usually corrode and the ecu it's not working
My fiesta has 400k kms leaks oil from turbo, but now started leaking coolant when engine is turned off from some where behind engine cheked the thermostat hoses radiator expansion tank and lines to heater core what else could it be? It leaks from bh engine but it only loses about half a dcl a day
And what is your thoughts about using some stop leak to patch it up because it is just a small drizzle
Stop leak it's not going to work because it can't deal plastic if your fiesta is with electric egr then it's probably from plastic pipe that goes to coolant pump if it's with mechanical egr than it has two plastic pipes that connects each other and go in coolant pump I have a video you should check
Just saw the video in question and it is definetly from there will try and put some 2 component adhesive for plastic on it for now it is a mechanical egr. Thank you and greetings from croatia 👍
Hi, thank you for the detailed video. Q: As you have mentioned that the metal cap and sealant application should be done in order to avoid the oil leakage, thus there will be a chances for leaking of engine oil or transmission fluid..??
Please confirm, because I am getting leakage in the same point.
If you are asking about 2 metal caps at the bottom of the engine yes if you remove them then you have to use sealant to prevent oil leak from engine if they are never removed then the oil leak is from another place
@@mechanicigor thank you for the response. Actually I bought a used car and getting leakage in this place even though portions were sealed with M-seal. Now I am doubting that the engine maybe reworked that's the reason the metal caps may removed and sealed back. If the bolts been never touched since from factory assembly, then there won't be any leakage problem.

same engine. white smoke coming from oil dipstick and oil filler cap. engine also consumes too much oil. 1l per 2000KM. there is light oil leakage from tubo charger. is it turbo charger problem or engine blow-by?
Usually first you have to check turbocharger how much movement is on the shaft if the shaft is moving to much then its from the turbo I have a video check it out
Could be pcv diaphragm. Simple fix.

How much km does this engine had?
This one was 450000km driven in taxi so in normal conditions should go 600000km if the oil is change every 15000km with filter
@@mechanicigor IT SEEMS STRANGE, 1.4 tdci engine do not last long, 150000km the engine starts consuming oil.

It's on valve cover close to opening for oil filing where the hose of turbo is connected

@@rantzzzrantzzz2568 no you have remove hose from the turbo and there are 4 bolts with torks 25 I think and wiring connector
