Have you tried adding Styrofoam or floral foam to the base before the foil? That way you could add some dimensionality and have some places to jab the wire ends into for even more stability?
I have used the technique you suggested in the past (the jungle videos) so I didn't want to repeat the exact same tutorial. Your suggestion is definitely a better way to create the bases on this build.
Well, I guess that depends on how much weight or how large the peice will be. 22 PT is only about as thick as cereal box cardboard so it's good enough if the peice is only 4 or 5 inches in diameter. Otherwise I'd go with the thicker board. I hope that helps.
Nice tutorial, & cool manticore. I am working on making one right now. As well as a sentry mech, chimiria, some land speeders, & some futuristic lizard man. Hey if you are still interested in a gaming session. Drop me a line.
Time to add some more jungle scatter terrain by crafting some bamboo thickets! What jungle terrain pieces would you like to see next?
What about treetop forts like Endor’s Ewok village?
Great idea! I'll add to the queue of projects! Thanks for the idea!
Wow! That bamboo looks great!
It's amazing what a bit of paint, glue, and cardboard can achieve. :-)
Im 4 years late but this is just in time for me

@@TheGameSmithsTable I will go back and re-watch those! Keep up the good work.
Coronavirus replaced "local dollar store" with "Amazon"! I'm sure the dollar store missing you during all this!
Congratulations on 700 subscribers!
Fortunately, I can get to the dollar store now... after I rent a Uhaul. haha. And thanks for the support!
If you used foam core you could have inserted the wire into the foam before gluing for more stablility.
I'd have to say no, for my own preferences. I wanted the base to be thinner so foam core wouldn't be my best choice of material.
@@TheGameSmithsTable makes sense.
Bamboo is a grass? really? I checked that its a grass. That's wierd. I really liked the herb base. that must smell great. congrats on 700 subscribers!
Yep, it's a grass and the herbs smell amazing. They make me think of turkey stuffing :-)
Would you recommend 30 point chip board or is 22 point good enough. Would like to know before I buy. Thanks.

@@TheGameSmithsTable yes thank you I didn't know which one to purchase.

Wow! It sounds like you're super busy, too. I'm very busy right now, but I'll definitely keep in touch.

Cool beans.
Is this workable with 6mm due to how big bamboo gets?
The scale of the bamboo is much too large for 6mm unless you are wanting a massive stand of bamboo. All the terrain is meant for 28mm miniatures.
