Nice I’m currently on maternity leave now nhs nurse practitioner and I will be off work for 15months only because my husband can afford to keep me off work otherwise I would’ve gone back to work after 6months because the pay is not enough for the entire time off lol this is my second pregnancy been with my trust for almost 6years 😊

Maybe my manager in 2015/2016 was ahead of her time because that is what she had me doing. Weekends but no night but weekdays. Its just better off overall been pregnant while working in the NHS. SHE WAS THE BEST MANAGER EVER 😇😍I Alread had 2 and a half year old at home. I went back at 9 months also. then I took annual leave when the pay would decrease, as I gave birth in March so I came back in the new financial year. I went back in October so I took 5 weeks annual leave with my SMP and I took the remainder when I came back from maternity leave.
Some people are just really lucky

Please my question is if you decide to go to work after any month before your agreed maternity leave is due, would you be paid the hours you’ve worked in that month in addition to your maternity pay? Let’s say, I’m on maternity leave and the initial plan with my manager was to stay at home all through the 9 months however, along the line I decide to come back to work in the 5th month to do some hours. Am I going to receive the hours worked in addition to my maternity pay?

That the new English proficiency NMC UK is trying to implement, they're now considering to add ecctis, so by the end of this month they'll come out with their conclusion, I'm also praying for the ecctis to be implemented cos i don't want to write IELTS. So hopefully by God's grace they'll add it, I'm praying seriously for this.

In my trust you need to specify whether it is pregancy related. If you break your wrist it is not classified as preganancy related.
Also if you are sick with pregnancy related sickness in the last 1 month of your pregnancy that's when they can start you on your maternity. On the other hand in that last one month of pregnancy you can go off sick with non-pregnancy related sickness and will not be started on maternity.

Well it’s for your own good your first 10 shifts will be considered KIT shifts
It's not compulsory but it's a good idea for getting you ready for going back to work.
I went into work for core training during my KIT days.
What is d difference between NHS n carehome
Carehomes are usually private owned companies and NHS is the National Health Service of the UK so government owned hospitals

No unless you where already working for that agency and worked for them on the 15th week before your due date. It could be one day on that week, sick pay or holiday pay.

Hello Griselda, I’ve got a question. I’ve been working for 19 months in the nhs. Im switching from one nhs to another but I’m currently pregnant. By the time I start my new job I’ll be like 12 weeks away. Will I still be entitled to maternity leave as I’m just starting the new job or will they calculate my eligibility from the time I started working for the nhs.

If it’s the same nhs trust then you will be entitled. If it’s a different trust you will not be entitled. But you may be able to get maternity with your current trust as long you have been with them for at least 6 months before the 15th weeks before your due date. Read your contract and talk to hr at your current trust. The worst case scenario will be that you will be entitled to maternity allowance but if you resume work anytime during your maternity leave the maternity allowance will stop.
It is a different trust I’m moving to. Just to be clear how long should I have worked to be eligible for maternity leave before my due date?
@@vidabrefo1790 6 continuous months before the 15th week of your due date. I have found that this is the standard requirement for most employers here in the uk. But different employers might have different policies. Therefore read your contract with the new trust and talk to their HR if you’re not sure of anything.
As long as you are moving from nhs to nhs, it is considered as same employer. You will still be entitled to your maternity pay.

No because its a different job so will start again
As long as it is with the NHS, it counts towards your years of service.

As you progress in nursing in the UK, you can look for higher position with your certificate, but as an international nurse ,you start at the lowest level in nursing which is a band 5 irrespective of your qualifications assuming you already have the basic requirements

Informative as usual. Can nurses work agency shifts while on maternity leave?
If you work for another employer whilst on maternity leave your maternity pay automatically stops as everything is connected to your national insurance. You can work up to 10 days for your employer whilst on maternity leave. These are called keeping in touch days and you are paid for them.
If you’d like to work for an agency, it’s best to do so in the last 3 months of your maternity leave as these months are unpaid. You can technically do this without your maternity leave coming to an end.
If the agency were to pay you through your own limited company it may be different
Also to add, the Keeping In Touch days that you work do not have to be full days. You can work 1 or 2 hours and you’ll be paid as if you worked a full shift.

I did, in 2012, after February, already used my KIT work days for upgraded trianing days, my maternity ended March-May, an agency that interviewed me at that time, also mentioned it, I took the opportunity immediately, 3mths and 2weeks worked and nicely paid...win! win!
