People say they don't like the paint design need to remember Scott is a Swiss Brand, the Swiss are known for their minimalism. If you want Big corporate logos screaming at you get an American bike like Specialized, screaming design then get an Italian bike Pinarello. I like the subtle design of Swiss bikes.
Yea, I think the design and paint are top notch. Huge fan of minimal logos. I took the decals off my RTP Tarmac SL8 because I think it's looks better plain.
A wonderful review however I would be a little concerned of puncturing with such light tyres. Unfortunately I am cursed with riding on regular roads with cars, tractors, cows, drunks dropping glass bottles and of course random chickens and roosters darting out onto the road. For now I will stick with my more or less bullet (and chicken) proof CAAD 10.
Lacks usability such as disk brakes 😂 come on... Funny now how bike companies are able to make lightweight bikes again all of a sudden weight matters while the last 5 years we have been told it doesn't matter 😂
the entire build might be the lightest production setup, but the S-Works Aethos is still the lightest frame at 570g (size 54 RTP) vs the Addict at 599g (unpainted or 650g painted)
Hmm, interesting you mention that because the David Arthur video I just watched about the Scott said their frame was 300/400g lighter than the Specialized. Scott make two Addict Frames the HMX and the HMX SL which only the top flight model gets..could that be your difference?
@Roger101Watson you can't make a frame with today's tech that weighs under 200g, which it would have to be to weigh 400g less than an sworks aethos. Not sure was David was smoking.
Excellent review. I like the look of this bike. My carbon bike is a Scott CR1 SL from 2006 which I then built up with Record 10 and alloy wheels. It was lighter than this one!
So basically, if you put those wheels/tyres/tubes on to an S-Works Aethos with SRAM Red, the Aethos would be lighter? Maybe Aethos v2 will be out soon with a 550g frame. And 130mm saddle, according to pretty much all bike fitter saddle reviews, that’s the size for most people and 143mm is too wide. I’ve just changed my Power saddle from 143 to 130 and it’s made a massive improvement to fit and reduced inner thigh rubbing. Keep 130mm, well done Scott.
Just left wondering exactly how you’re going to be stranded on your ride? Will it be from a puncture in those ridiculous tires or from the frame cracking in that 0.6mm thick section when you hit a bump in the road?
Yeah, killed it with PF bottom bracket (all Sram riders are surely happy) and yet another proprietary steerer/stem size :) I have the previous Addict RC and also S-Works Aethos, I was looking to replace both with this new model, but am pretty disappointed by this...
PF bottom brackets aren't the problem it's frames that are made poorly which can cause issues. That now is less of a problem with Bottom brackets From Enduro, Token and others to solve that. Don't let it put you off.
If you weight 90kg, bike weight change 2-3kg will not change anything :), change is only ~2%. Unless you very competitive in racing, then maybe it worth. I better choose aero, and include suspension on gravel bike
I've dropped 45 kg in weight, now weighing 67 kg. A 2-3 kg lighter bike (I have several on both sides of that, a 6 kg Supersix Evo and a 8.5 kg CAAD10) is noticeably easier to accelerate to close gaps and attacks
His comments about the average cyclist and the wheels...What average cyclist is spending £12,999 on this bike? 😂😂😂😂 Great job on the comparison chart I liked that feature. Maybe include an online brand like Canyon too. Total agree on a Dura-Ace equipped model not having a power meter..come on Scott don't be so tight fisted!! The range topping model looks naff...Scott really got that one wrong which is very unlike them.
Im 6'2" 100kg and looking for a bike that won't feel like a pool noodle or crack at the sight of a crack in the pavement, can cycling weekly do a video on bikes for Clydesdales please 🙏 16 year old me would have wet his pants about such a lightweight bike. 34 year old me just wants it to last and feel responsive.
I feel that apart from them both being lightweight bikes, the new Addict and the Aethos are fairly different. Aethos isn't really aero, has a more old school setup for easy maintenance (non-proprietary stem/bar/headset) and is pretty basic which I like (I own one). The Addict is more of a race/aero build and I think it would be a bit less comfortable. They are all overpriced for what you get.
I think all the manufacturer lost the plot now. Majority of consumer wanted good and affordable bike. Not off the shelf bike that priced at car prices.
For the dentists and posers who buy the bicycles for the price of the Surron electric bike(top specced one) It's moronic to pay that much for the bicycle which is inferior to any motorcycle in every way! Greetings from the everyday bicycle abuser from Croatia 😎
Sorry what - a bike isn't useable because it has rim brakes and tyre clearance for 25mm tyres only - bike industry is headed down the drain for this reason!
My husband bought me a massage candle that melts into massage oil. It was romantic until I realized he misunderstood the concept and tried to light it like a regular candle✨
I agree. If you compare the Addict RC 10 to the Tarmac SL8 Expert, you’re essentially getting a similar bike for $300 less. While the Tarmac will likely still be a bit faster aerodynamically, the Addict won’t be too far off with its updated design-especially considering that it features an integrated cockpit and slightly deeper wheels.

although the exception to that rule for specialized is the aethos - very minimalistic design & logos
Dude…😂😂 I ride a Spark RC World Cup from 2020 and it is anything but subtle. And I love it.
Yea, I think the design and paint are top notch. Huge fan of minimal logos. I took the decals off my RTP Tarmac SL8 because I think it's looks better plain.
The really good news is that Scott isn't going out of business as rumored 6 months ago.
Let me guess. Pricing is in Kilos? 3k per kilogram? 😅
Surprisingly no. Much better priced than the Tarmac.
Not feeling the colour of that one ... Matt paint is a PITA and shows every mark .... the 105 version looks like the great one to me ...
Yep, both 105 versions are the best (pink and this greenish) :)

You're not cursed... You're blessed with what sounds like a peaceful, beautiful area... Not counting the drunks. Respect those farmers 👍
@@Nikolai3855 and unleashed farm dogs coming out to destroy your bike
Lacks usability such as disk brakes 😂 come on...

Bikes are cell phones now. Gotta buy a new one every year.

cool story bro
David said that the new Addict is 300g lighter than the outgoing Addict model
Bike looks amazing
Excellent review. I like the look of this bike. My carbon bike is a Scott CR1 SL from 2006 which I then built up with Record 10 and alloy wheels. It was lighter than this one!
Alloy wheels at less than 5.9 kg? Unlikely unless you are tubular. This is significantly stiffer than those old Addicts, too
ok its a Trek/Specialized blurred line. In essence, they brought back the old TCR design. 🤣
How does it look like a tcr? It looks just like the old addict rc with a foil head tube
Oh. So weight suddenly matters again???
Did you notice if this bike climbs and accelerates faster than heavier bikes?
So basically, if you put those wheels/tyres/tubes on to an S-Works Aethos with SRAM Red, the Aethos would be lighter? Maybe Aethos v2 will be out soon with a 550g frame.

Still more aero than an Aethos would be
Just left wondering exactly how you’re going to be stranded on your ride? Will it be from a puncture in those ridiculous tires or from the frame cracking in that 0.6mm thick section when you hit a bump in the road?
Oh its a Giant TCR. Its funny that all the new bikes coming back to Giant TCR
This looks far more aero than the tcr. The downtube on that is just ridiculous
@ its like your opinion man
The Addict geo is way comfier than the TCR mate.
Much more aero than a TCR. And same weight or lighter despite not having ISP, which is a deal breaker for me
Yeah, killed it with PF bottom bracket (all Sram riders are surely happy) and yet another proprietary steerer/stem size :) I have the previous Addict RC and also S-Works Aethos, I was looking to replace both with this new model, but am pretty disappointed by this...

What size is the demo?
Ok, enough for the pro bikes that 💸cost an eye, a leg and an arm. Would you mind review the model for the mortals?🤷🏾♂️
Quite impressive for a disc brake electronic gear bicycle.
If you don not what to do of your money ! I have CAAD13 with Roval Alpinist and it is fine and way shippier.
If you weight 90kg, bike weight change 2-3kg will not change anything :), change is only ~2%. Unless you very competitive in racing, then maybe it worth. I better choose aero, and include suspension on gravel bike

I don't know...270g on a disc brake fork...and the number of spokes on those wheels is rather low. Impressive what can be achieved though
What's the point of a test review of this bike without some climbs?
have you checked also the vittoria corsa n.ext in 28mm to see how much they weight ? i don't see them in the chart....
Vittoria corsa next G2.0 in size 28 is apparently 310 grams
@oliverjacobs8594 wow.. previously I've had n.ext in 26mm and they were stupid light 😅..light 200gr ish
I like it, but man if you broke a spoke on those wheels that’s going to hurt.
How are you going to break one of those spokes?
So if you put all components of this bike on Aethos frame, the Aethos will be the lighter bike of the two?😂
So it costs £12999 for 'fun'?
They should have made a rc pro with ultegra or force 🤔
Lightest production bike... May be, but only of the brands who are queens of marketing... But anyway extremely light and nice (and expensive)
His comments about the average cyclist and the wheels...What average cyclist is spending £12,999 on this bike? 😂😂😂😂

Time ADH. Look no further. Buy now, thank me later.
Get a steel bike. It won't crack ever

where is the uci sticker
Yup
This is confusing me is. Is this the endurance Addict or the RC? I wish.Scott sort out the naming because the commentators are unclear
It’s the RC, I have no idea why the channel didn’t just put that in the title. Everyone else has “RC” in the title
I think all the manufacturer lost the plot now. Majority of consumer wanted good and affordable bike. Not off the shelf bike that priced at car prices.
5.9 without pedals - so not 5.9 to ride then.
What the hell are those blue marks just make it black
The RC10 has better wheels than the RC20; well worth the price increase!
Nice toy for retired pro's or senior dentists. I would not part with my 8 year old 7kg. Canyon mechanical anytime soon ($3500 !).
Those carbon spokes look expensive and vulnerable
it's boring to just make black bikes in 2025
For the dentists and posers who buy the bicycles for the price of the Surron electric bike(top specced one)
It's moronic to pay that much for the bicycle which is inferior to any motorcycle in every way!
Greetings from the everyday bicycle abuser from Croatia 😎
It probably costs an arm, a leg, and a liver.
A Specialized SL3 S-Works can hit this weight with ease.
2015 called. They want their rim brake SL3 back!
5.9 kg = 13.0 lb
Sorry what - a bike isn't useable because it has rim brakes and tyre clearance for 25mm tyres only - bike industry is headed down the drain for this reason!
I promise you it doesn't matter if your bike is 20 lbs or 12 lbs. Either way you still need to pedal your fat ass over that hill.
I love watching this guy drop a massive load BS marketing.
The paint job looks ugly AF
Tried to explain to the guy why I was laughing so loud and we ended up laughing alone🌺
