This was an absolutely fabulous look at the Rouleur show. I have watched nearly all of the videos produced from the event and I can say with 100% confidence that I enjoyed your video the most! I love how you would preview the product, then talk to the reps off camera, then provide the detail via a voice-over...that is an awesome technique. All too often I see creators trying to interview the reps and things never come across in a coherent way.
I also appreciated your opposing viewpoint on many items (mostly in relation to pricing). I fell that you handled this in a very respectful way. It is annoying to watch a creator cover a show where all of their takes come across like a paid advertisement. In your case, I love your content because I have grown to trust and value your point of view. Getting your point of view while still being respectful of the manufacturers definitely put your video head-and-shoulders above others.
You need to work with Joe from Panda Podium and get together for the China Cycle show in Shanghai next May!!

  • @NimrodGilAd

Here's what I think is behind the Lab71 label:
A few years back, there was a story that the bike manufacturers were secretly producing frames with higher QC levels for the pro teams, in large part due to cases like Hambini's frame reaming videos. Since the UCI stipulates that equipment used by riders should be available to Joe Public, they cried foul, and forced the manufacturers to create appropriate official products. Some manufacturers already had something in place, like the S-Works sub-brand of Specialized, but some, like Cannondale, simply slapped a logo on otherwise similar products, but with higher QC levels - hence Lab71.

It's nice to see some honest thoughts on the products displayed. Especially when it's "I think this isn't worth it" or "This look like a simple marketing stunt with no real benefits". Most channels are basically just YT adverts and for a regular cyclist it's far more beneficial to hear what a somewhat regular cyclist might consider buying or looking into in the future.

I'm a 3D CMM Specialist and the first thing that popped in my head when I saw that 3D printed Scope hub: "That better be Titanium!".
And later in the video we learn that it's only Scalmalloy. I'm quite baffled by this. Regardless SLM or EBM 3D-printing technology this material is intended for complex organic shapes. But a hub isn't a complex shape at all. Clearly Scope as a brand doesn't have the knowledge/expertise and just outsourced this project. But I think they knocked on the wrong door. I have my doubts if there is enough material around the spoke holes. And if it will hold up over time (fatigue). Even if it's okay for light weight riders I don't think this is the golden bullet compared to Titantium.

If decathlon wants to be a brand that focuses on value for money, they either have to undercut the competition and have similar performance. It has to have a differentiating factor. Which it doesn't. It doesn't have to be better than bikes that cost more than it, but it can't be worse than bikes that cost 10% less and have a more established reputation in the competitive cycling scene.

Nice honest reviews. Learnt a lot about the show and velo business. More than all the other show vids I have watched on TH-cam this week. This probably the last one too. But not least! *proud owner Emonda SL6Pro, new integrated carbon cockpit upgrade, waxed drivetrain.

Thanks to your content I own a Aliexpress equipped bike that costs way less than name brand bikes and gives me way more joy knowing that I didn't have to spend so much $$$ to achieve the same results.

As a bike nerd, I find it funny that you've never heard of the Ganna's TT bike "whale" ripples on the seatube and seat post as it made quite some noise I thought when it came out for his hour record, although it was then as a 3D printed frame. Made me realise how deep one can be in his own tiny bubble. Great video and awesome bikes ! I would litteraly turn mad with so many nice things to look at

Luke the latest vlog was a blast and I thoroughly enjoyed you overseeing the bling!! Would you ever take a £30 -35 k bike anywhere?? I'd be terrified about getting a speck of dirt on it!!!
The bike I liked most was the one with the orangy marbled effect on top tube. I think it was the Reap?
I have to admit ilmao about your post hot dog episode! Jeeeeezzz I couldn't stop and almost split my sides, made worse by that clip of a dam? Purging its pipes?? Good stuff fella and i speak for all that you do a fantastic job! I was surprised you didnt come away with any little "trinkets", like bars etc!😁😁😁

Really enjoyed the format Luke, was chuckling when you cracked out with “so let me know if you would spunk 4.5k on it” regards the super record group set 😂

Good effort on the vlogging. Good to hear honest options positive and negative. Usually channels blow smoke up everything regardless.

Best coverage of any TH-cam channel I’ve seen so far from all the usual suspects, well done.
