South Aussie wishing you a fast end to cases n lock down. I’ve been to Morpeth a friend of mine lived near there, she took me there I loved the stores including the lolly shop and second hand store. Morpeth and Hunter Valley Gardens I loved
Arnott's - pronunciation: mild emphasis on the first syllable, no emphasis on the last syllable, make it completely neutral - ah-nuhts or even ah-nehts
Hi Emmy. I’m a new subscriber, and I absolutely love your content. As an Aussie, I can tell you that fairy bread is amazing. It is made with white bread, untoasted with butter and the hundreds and thousands sprinkles, and cut into either squares or triangles, though almost always triangles. It’s the ultimate party food for kids. In Australia we call them biscuits or bikkies. Keep up the exceptional work.
In my house we use Jaffas for Rudolph cupcake noses at Christmas, they’re a family favourite. Salted caramel Tim tams are the only ones I eat, I’m so un-australian in that I don’t love Tim tams. I like musk sticks, but I always preferred the fruit-flavoured sticks instead. We have Twix here too, not really anything like a boost, but I appreciate you trying 😂 does anyone remember Furry Friends having pictures on them ages ago or is that just me? Now fairy bread, is my absolute favourite. It should honestly be a food group. I think I enjoy eating it more than any kid I’ve ever met. Works great with wholemeal bread too, but the best kind is super soft white bread (wonder bread or tip top here in Australia), real butter and sprinkles. I prefer the long cupcake sprinkles because hundreds &thousands are too hard for my adult teeth now 😂
I’m 33 and don’t remember pics on furry friends only the wrapping having it. I remember it always having Cadbury written on it. I now buy them for my toddler daughter along with kinder surprise and freddos as a special thing
In the Netherlands they eat something similar called Hagelslag, it comes in a large variety of flavours and is much softer than regular sprinkles, so kinder on the teeth when chewing.
I remember watching Emmy in her apartment in Japan eating snacks from the Philippines. One move across the world, two kids, and millions of followers later, here we are; Emmy Eats 💕

I think the TimTam Slam was done with warm drinks because the warm drink melts the coating and filling. I bet warm milk would have been even better. We don't have as much Eucalyptus in Northern California since the Oakland Hills burned and people discovered that they are essentially fire cannons due to all the oil in them.
That is indeed how it's generally done, well, in new Zealand anyway and that's basically little Australia. A lot of people do it with hot chocolate or coffee
I'd definitely stick to cold milk. Dip a chocolate biscuit in hot milk and it will fall in to the mug and ruin your drink. Or perhaps I just have shocking time management 😂. I had a few bad experiences as a kid. I feel awful gum trees are a pest in California. You are right, they are designed to burn. To regenerate. But you guys don't have that kind of eco system.
I've grown up watching these videos and while it's less often that I watch, when I do I still get that overwhelming comfort. Her voice and calm nature is just magic.

Hi Emmy, the lovely box is Australian Wild Flowers, Bottle Brush and Flannel Flowers. Flannel Flowers are always creamy white and the petals are very soft feel like velvet, they germinate and grow best after bush fires. Fairy bread, fresh bread, lightly buttered cut into triangles then the butter side pressed onto a plate of sprinkles. It's not a kids party without fairy bread.
I thought I was one of few who would be old enough to remember rolling Jaffas down the aisles of a movie theatre and was about to comment. Can't do it now that cinemas are carpeted.
We tend to more so eat eucalyptus drops when we have a sore throat, but some people enjoy them when not anyways. They’re not cough ones but they can be used like that because eucalyptus has a soothing affect like honey
Ah yes, please try fairy bread! It's an Australian children's party staple! I'm glad you love your biscuits! Tim Tam's are the bomb. You've inspired me to go down to woolworths and grab a pack
I've actually never even thought about it before to be honest but if I think about it they maybe rose flavoured because the first time I tried traditional Turkish Delight it did remind me of musk sticks. The musk sticks you can find now aren't as strongly flavoured as they were as a kid but are still the best.
@@Yunalezcarh Oh yummy :) I wish we had them here so I could try them in my taste testing videos !!! Ive already tried TIM TAM cookies on my channel and they R delicious !!!
Oh my! Eucalyptus drops! 🥰 in every kids pocket when I was a kid in school. Now my kids love them as well. Yum! Also, excellent form on the timtam slam! 😅
Aussie here, we call the eucalyptus candies "lypties" (pronounced lip-tees) childhood classic! Fairy bread is always fresh soft white bread (not toast!), sometimes with the crusts cut off, buttered and topped with hundreds and thousands. I'm also not a fan of musk sticks, but a lot of people really like them.

"Ah-nuts" - one word. 😊 I absolutely dislike musk sticks but these have been a staple for centuries. I also suggest slamming the caramel in a hot cup of coffee or tea! They're amazing and gooey 😃
@@lmaree200886 Reading how to say the brand is a little misleading. The sound is definitely more the AH, rather than ARR. Kiwis and Aussies pronounce our R's differently to the way Americans do, but it's absolutely more "nets" than "nuts" after the Ah sound.
@@Jovixgal Here, link to old Shapes ads. th-cam.com/video/tL8WLMFau0o/w-d-xo.html These are the way it’s pronounced, it’s more arr than ah. It’s not pronounced as in ‘ah ha’. @@lmaree200886 I'm just saying the way we pronounce our R's down this way is VERY different to how Americans pronounce it. If you wanted a true, feet on the ground, pronunciation of this brand in AUS or NZ it comes out as an AH rather than an ARR.
I’ve been away from Oz for nearly 9 years. I was concerned that I’d be missing the snacks. Starting with musk sticks…not so much. I’ve didn’t ever like them, but Emmy is right, they smell like a granny. My grandma smelt amazing, but that doesn’t mean I want a snack with that flavour.

You should definitely come to australia!! However, at the moment Australian's aren't even allowed to leave or come home .... so uh, might be awhile 😕 Maybe one day aussie's will be allowed to travel again
I never had toasted fairy bread as a kid but a plain old slice of white bread, spread of butter or margarine and you press the buttered side into a plate of sprinkles and eat! So nostalgic I haven’t had it in yearsss xx
Well, seeing as you asked lol, in New Zealand we say "ar-nits". And you're saying jaffas wrong, but I can't explain how we say it haha You gotta have tim tams with a hot drink, it melts the biscuits and makes them deliciously gooey! Yes of course the butter holds the sprinkles on, and it has to be real butter, not margarine, and white bread, crusts removed, and cut into triangles lol one of my favorite party foods. The Kiwi is New Zealand's national bird. And that is a "kiwi", not the fruit 😆 the fruit is a "kiwifruit".
It’s Arr-nets here in Aus! Different accent and vowels. She’s saying Jaffa correctly just with her accent it’s more heavy sounding, kinda like saying the name Jafar from Aladdin! I also agree with the kiwi vs kiwi fruit thing! Many overseas call it the kiwi bird which is kinda like saying koala bear! Also pavlova is Australian as you guys take the cake with the lamington!
It's kinda funny seeing these phonetic spellings because to a typical American "Ar-nits" would sound like them saying how you'd pronounce "arr-KNITS" (think a heavy 'r' sound, like a pirate would make) and "Arr-nets" would be pronounced similarly, except with emphasis on NETS. Phonetic spelling of Arnott's for an American would be more like "AH-ntz" but to get the distinction between a typical New Zealand accent and a typical Australian accent on the last vowel would require something a little more heavy-duty than what a keyboard can represent (and a lot more knowledge of linguistics too.)

Mmmmm musk sticks! My favourite! They taste a bit like rose water or Turkish delight. Yes, fairy bread is made with fresh (not toasted) white sliced bread, spread with butter. Arnott's - pronunciation: mild emphasis on the first syllable, no emphasis on the last syllable, make it completely neutral - ah-nuhts or even ah-nehts
Yep ah-nets 🙂
It’s a “schwa” vowel sound in the second syllable, really neutral vowel

And didn’t know we wanted
Ann and Emmy, the two most wholesome creators on the platform. Love the crossover
@@SMRCEC I must be thinking of something else, but honestly can’t think what. Maybe milky bar or something 😂
Furry friends sure did used to have pictures of the animals that were on the packaging. I'm 41,and still keep them in my bedside drawers for a treat.
In the Netherlands they eat something similar called Hagelslag, it comes in a large variety of flavours and is much softer than regular sprinkles, so kinder on the teeth when chewing.
Furry friends are so adorable. I found them at an airport once. I think Sydney. Probably not any more 😬.
I remember watching Emmy in her apartment in Japan eating snacks from the Philippines. One move across the world, two kids, and millions of followers later, here we are; Emmy Eats 💕

Hello 👋 how are you doing?
Yep!- looks like a Banksia- maybe I’m showing my age- but I still feel suspicious when I see banksia trees- thanks May Gibbs (Author of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie- in which Banksia men are the “bad guys”)
Yes, Tim Tam Slams are best done with tea or coffee
I'd definitely stick to cold milk. Dip a chocolate biscuit in hot milk and it will fall in to the mug and ruin your drink. Or perhaps I just have shocking time management 😂. I had a few bad experiences as a kid.
I feel awful gum trees are a pest in California. You are right, they are designed to burn. To regenerate. But you guys don't have that kind of eco system.
I know people who do that with hot chocolate....

Jaffas used to be rolled down the isle during a movie at the cinema in the old days. A favourite snack at the movies with popcorn.
Aussie version of Milk Duds or Junior Mints 😀
jaffas are also used to throw at unsuspecting movie goers 😁
I thought I was one of few who would be old enough to remember rolling Jaffas down the aisles of a movie theatre and was about to comment. Can't do it now that cinemas are carpeted.
We tend to more so eat eucalyptus drops when we have a sore throat, but some people enjoy them when not anyways. They’re not cough ones but they can be used like that because eucalyptus has a soothing affect like honey
Ah yes, please try fairy bread! It's an Australian children's party staple!

Musk sticks are so nostalgic for me. I use to go crazy for them as a kid. I still love them to this day.
Do they taste like rose / rose water ? id love to try them in one of my taste testing videos !!!
I've actually never even thought about it before to be honest but if I think about it they maybe rose flavoured because the first time I tried traditional Turkish Delight it did remind me of musk sticks. The musk sticks you can find now aren't as strongly flavoured as they were as a kid but are still the best.

Ann and Emmy! My favorites! This makes me so happy!
"Hundreds and thousands" is so much cuter than "sprinkles" ❤️❤️
You Aussies intrigue me hahaha

"Ah-nuts" - one word. 😊
I absolutely dislike musk sticks but these have been a staple for centuries.
I also suggest slamming the caramel in a hot cup of coffee or tea! They're amazing and gooey 😃
More like arr-nets (lived near the Sydney factory for years), that’s what the workers call it!
@@lmaree200886 Reading how to say the brand is a little misleading. The sound is definitely more the AH, rather than ARR. Kiwis and Aussies pronounce our R's differently to the way Americans do, but it's absolutely more "nets" than "nuts" after the Ah sound.
@@Jovixgal Here, link to old Shapes ads. th-cam.com/video/tL8WLMFau0o/w-d-xo.html
These are the way it’s pronounced, it’s more arr than ah. It’s not pronounced as in ‘ah ha’. The Mexican accent said it like it’s spelt.
I’ve done a few languages courses and can now hear lots of nuances in accents and pronunciations even with being half deaf currently with an ongoing ear infection! 😁
i think of it as arnuts but said real fast.
@@lmaree200886 I'm just saying the way we pronounce our R's down this way is VERY different to how Americans pronounce it. If you wanted a true, feet on the ground, pronunciation of this brand in AUS or NZ it comes out as an AH rather than an ARR.
Without watching the video in entirety, Just gave a thumbs up👍for my two favorite people from TH-cam!!

And you're saying jaffas wrong, but I can't explain how we say it haha
You gotta have tim tams with a hot drink, it melts the biscuits and makes them deliciously gooey!
Does it have to be butter to hold the sprinkles? Can't I use Vegemite instead 😋?
@@karmesindryade That's not funny
@@lmaree200886 I did not want to offend anyone. I really LOVE Vegemite 💖💖💖💖💖 And I like the combination of sweet and savoury. 😋
We used to get Jaffas at Aldi in Germany growing up.
The flowers are known as a bottle brush from a callistemon plant

@@Qaotl Those on the box are scarlet banksias. More dense needles and much larger leaves than a bottle brush.
