I mostly listen to podcasts, and Monk's are the most well balanced for that. I I have FAAEAL's, and they are really bass heavy and warm. They are definitely constructed better, but I don't know that they have a balanced sound, or are good for podcasts or books on tape.

I tested these earphones and have found that: - The VE Monks are great for Jazz and Classical. Emphasis on mids. - The Vidos are great for rock and metal. Noticable v shaped sound. - The Faeels are kind of like the middle ground with a slightly scooped mids.
I believe the integrated sound card on the laptop you tried these, is not barely enough to drive them properly. Especially the Monks, which I can drive on my Fiio X5 Mark III only on high gain and they sound fantastic.
Vido with mic doesn't have a J-style cable. Also I don't know what's the settings beside the mic but it enables me to listen to hidden and back vocals. What a magic without using audacity and other mixing equalizers to lower the main vocals lol
Vido earbuds best earbuds ever under $10!! Highly recommend this to anyone who prefer earbuds than iem. It has impressive imaging and instrument separation. Resolution is on par with those expensive headsets. You get a wide soundstage and a full size headphone-like airiness to it. Sub bass is a little bit below average but mid bass is acceptable and has a decent amount of kick on it, but this is not for bass heads. It's more of a neutral sounding earbuds imo. It sounds like my brother's razer headphones only with less sub bass and bass. But the sound quality, really?? for the cheap price compared to my brother's headphone. You'll never think of it as cheap earbuds. I was really surprised!!
I have those 3 earphones. Vido is the best sounding feels like so relax and balance, next is the warm sounding Faeel Snow Lotus and the Boomy VE Monks. All three are very nice.

Have you tried the Seahf AWK-F32 ($6.50)? They also sound seem to share the same shell but have a lot more bass than the monk plus, especially with two foams (one full, plus one donut). Curious to see how they compare. They also have what seems to be a silver calbe version for $14 (AWK-F32S)
Beasteds get me confused all the time What are the earbuds with speakers called. Not the 1s with rubber suction cup that rips out ur eardrums or the 1s that rubber covers that fall off R stays in ur ear when take them out But the original 1s with speakers

I feel like this sound quality comparison was: Vido has better base, so it's the best. The comparison completely misses a person's sound preference or what they're using the earbuds for: running, podcast listening, prefer a warm, bright, or deeper base sound, noise isolation, environmental sound awareness, jazz, classical, pop music, imaging, sound stage. On the other hand, the review is short.

Dude, Edifier H180 and Philips SHE3800 are the same earbuds, just rebranded. I'm in China and I can tell for sure. Maybe just a different batch has a different sound, cause it's really cheap and not so much quality control, lottery. BTW, in my opinion they sound really bad.
I had a Faaeal Iris that lasted for about 6 years that I just lost this year. Can't remember where I put it. I'm into learning songs by ear (mainly bass and guitar). Any suggestions for a better pair of earbud, considering on how I use it? Or just buy another Iris?

What version are you talking about is it the 1.0 , or the 1.0plus , or the 2.0? planning to get one pair between the 1.0plus and it 2.0 version I have heard a lot of good reviews on the 1.0plus but the 2.0 seems to have much fancier specs, silver plated cable etc2.
My monk got faulty after a few use(like after 4 xD)... I like the sound quality, but the cable totally trash, it was a wasted 8 dollar. Faaeal seems to have so much better build quality.
It dosent matter how much it cost, if its trash, its trash. A better cable would cost them probably 15 cent more, but they make it with shitty cable because they want to pollute the world with trash.
I'd say the Vido's produced the best bass and sound but they are all almost identical. just whatever you do don't purchase the ones with the transparent shells. for some reason the transparent shells destroy the sound with these earphones.
These earbuds have natural sounds unlike ZSN. I tested both Vido and Monks myself. I'd rather chose them over ZSN. ZSN has some good lows and mids, but the highs are freaking fatiguing to listen to, its so piercing. This is just my 5 cents.
watching this with my cca c12. i have the zsn pro but it`s a bit fatiguing for long listening session. So i upgrade to the cca c12 , better sound. Im planing to get my first earbud tho. Any recommendations?
I have the vidos. They actually sound great and gives you more of a concert-like feel compared to most IEMs(in ear). The only downside to these earbuds is that the bass can't be as good with most iem in terms of bass rumbles. This can't go low as those and cant ever be for bassheads. But the vido has bass and you can enjoy watching movies on it bec it sounds like you're actually in a theater because of it's wide soundstage. Try it and you'll be happy with it.
More bass does not mean sound quality. I bought Faaeal Iris because of this review and the bass is just too much, the Soundmagic ep30 is way more natural and open sounding.

I have Vido with no mic. Seller informed me that the manufacturer has changed all units to straught style cable.

The Monks has a higher impedance over the two, maybe an amp is needed to properly drive them. You're talking about 32 vs 64 ohms here.
32ohms is well within a normal music players range. 50ohms is still acceptable
