I'm quite late to this video (actually arrived here after searching for "Pixel Buds 2 foam tips") Came to the comments to make this exact statement. I have a pair of LG Tone bluetooth IEMs and a pair of VOTOMY (no idea the model number - got them on Amazon, and don't see a model listed) wireless bluetooth IEMs, and *both* have had substantially increased bass after I added foam ear tips...
Of all foam tip brands...Comply eartips are top notch quality, fit, and last longer....but honestly, their costs are obscene! I go with cheap Chinese clones of Comply....order in a batch, gently hand clean them w warm water and gentle liquid detergent soap, let air dry overnite. If u have extremely soft gentle bristle tooth brush, or Q- Tips it helps. If u r too aggressive cleaning any brand foam eartips, they can crumble. I get 4 months w gentle cleaning of my foam eartips...if they show any crumbling i toss them, do not need foam pieces in my ears. You may want to do a short eartip cleaning video what soaps u use, and if washing w a cloth, brush, fingers, etc....i say this because u were on point, a dirty eartip may have bacteria that can cause ear infections or general irritation, most earphone owners do not practice good eartip hygiene, i learned the hard way too!
I've to agree on the cleaning part. Seriously, I've had a few ear infections during the years I've been using all this earplugs. Foam. Silicon, sponge even plastic and rubber needs some cleaning at least once a week. I simply clean mine with baby wipes and add a little antibacterial spray to it.
never EVER had ear infection and i never clean my tips, listening to music at least 2 hours a day EVERY day for like 15 years... Maybe it is not for you and you should use other types, not IEM?

I've had good luck with the spinfit ear tips the cp100. I also got a good seal with the Symbio ones. But the spin fits were the most comfortable the Symbio ones are very rigid and unforgiving! So if you got IEM's that don't line up with your ear canal your skin on your inner ear May pay the price for it!
I found memory foam tips quite useful to "clean" an over the top bass on several bass heavy earplugs. I would recommend using foam tips if you find your new earbuds have an abnoxious extra bass.
The memory foam are much more comfortable for me and keep the buds in my ears considerably better. My understanding is some memory foam replacements contain trace amounts of latex, which can lead to allergic reaction for some folks. As far as sound goes, I haven't noticed any difference but will guess if the foam is too large and gets squeezed down, this restricts the duct carrying sound. It'll take some experimentation to optimize but I chose the similar size as the best fitting silicone tips and so far that's working well for me.
Solution to advancing ear infections! (what I wish I knew about when I was a child) at the onset (before you feel pain, but notice that your canal is swollen) spray colloidial silver or a dilluted water with an essential oil of choice thats anti bacterial (tea tree or lavender definitely wont irritate) this has always stopped it for me before it gets painful and the swelling is gone by day two. It all depends. The foam ones worked well with my Powerbeats pro but with the Jabra 75t the soft silicone ones work best since the they don’t put so much pressure in your ears.
After testing over 50 brands of ear tips on my high-end IEMs, I've found that only two are keepers: Campfire Audio Marshmellow foam tips and SONICFOAM memory foam ear tips from Amazon.
I guess I will buy some memory foam ear tips to use when I am working and I will use my silicone ear tips when I am relaxing at home and want that extra bass. The silicone ear tips are uncomfortable for an 8 hour shift and they tend to slip out my ears.
I backpack with the Comply tips and have the ones that have a shield. I think it's actually called a waxguard. They definitely can be cleaned with some Dawn soap and warm water. Just roll them in your hands, then give them a squeeze to wring out the water and dry for a while. I could never justify the cost if they couldn't be cleaned. Oh, and don't be an idiot like me and mistakenly drop one in rubbing alcohol. They literally disintegrate.
I need a pair of foam tips that cut down the treble and BOOST the bass. I have a pair of CCA A10 which have excessively boosted treble. Medium bore silicone works fairly well but I need to place a small piece of foam into the bore to cut down the treble. It also boosts the bass slightly. Second I tried a few foam tips that have a rubber bore and that doesn’t work since it boosts the treble. Third I tried some foam tips without the center core and that worked extremely well at cutting out just enough of the treble without losing the sparkle. Bass suffered so I placed the s,all piece of foam into the bore of the tip and I gets some bass back. That’s the best I can get them to sound so I need to know which foam tips would give me the same effect. If there are none I would have to place a small foam filter over the nozzle and use a quality foam earplug and make my own tips. Anyone use foam tips that possess all the traits I’m looking for? Cut down the highs and boost the bass?
I have senitive hearing, as in I worked in a settng were I had my ears tested regularly and always tested top percentile. As such MOST headphones, or stereos, or TV speakers, are tinny and treble heavy. What I do is EQ everything. If I cant EQ it, I dont use it. Seriously. Lot of subjective experience in terms of sound, so my suggestion is try out different ear tips. See what works for you, but for real, try using programs that offer in depth EQ settings, eventually youll figure out a basic EQ curve you can apply across different programs or even physical settings.

In the last few years I’ve been able to own or audition several iems and headphones and I know what my preferred tuning is. Once you get into the $100 + price brackets the sets are tuned fairly well. I have come across a few $50 and under sets that are capable of remarkable performance. I do have a hardware EQ just in case I need it.
Beg to disagree....foam tips are NOT one size fits all ....a medium even between manufacturers can vary in size, and comfort. Depends on the size of your ear canal to order sm, med, lg...on what fits best. Even the shape design plays a part, some are round, tapered, beveled, etc....Hole opening diameter on ear side plays a part in the sound. If a user is unsure of the exact size, order a multi size pack, 3 prs, 3 diff sizes.
Comply says 95% of the people use medium size tips so its one size fits all unless ur the 5% in which case you probably already know to order bigger or smaller ones

i only got ear infection in two cases 1.others using my earphones atleast once is enough 2. i use their earphones result : the pain inside the ear will terrifying and i always get only swelling and puss formation ofcourse i had a super dupper ointment works like charm and burst out swelling part in minutes and also sanitizer to clean eartips . i advise prevention is better than cure use santizer if ur keeping earphones used by others to be specific our own bacteria doesnt infect us . i used a earphones for more than an 16 months no infections . but cleaning eartips with cotton is must coz u dont want to ruin ur expensive or long usage earphones
I would say that disposable ear tips are definitely being disposable when you like sharing and you like to share hygienically is like a pro because you know cuz people tend not to clean things before we share them so I think no so I would say like go for the memories a lot of people forget to clean the air tips

I purchased the true grip foam tips assorted pack. I used the smallest ones there are so it can fit. I think the medium and large will be too big. I think I know what you mean, and I would say yes. Buy some cheap chinese ones on Aliexpress or Ebay and try it out! my pair of 3 large cost me 1$. It's nothing compared to the absurd 20$ of the comply ones... And I had that vacuum feeling when I finally got the right size with silicone. But it disapeared with the foam tips.
Commenting to push this up higher. Put em in a shot glass, swish them around for a few seconds, boom, cleaned. Also, buy multiple pairs of foam and simply expect to replace them yearly; theyre like $10 for 3 pairs.
It's the opposite of what you are saying. You use silicon cos of more bass and don't like foam cos of lack of bass, but it's vice versa in reality. Foam provide much better isolation and therefore you have sense of having much more bass that is 1st to be masked usually. Foam tips "absorb" highs so that further increases perception of having more bass next to isolation. People go for foam for more bass and if earphones are too sibilant or bright.
Try using the Ostry OS-100/200/300 model . They are a silicone eartip w screen filters. Read an early review online that they help...tame the sibilance and harsh treble in the KZ-ZS6 ...they marginally help, along w an EQ 5db dip around 10khz, and white braided cables. Need to clean often as u suggest for silicones, especially w metal screens. I like both os-200 and os-300. Worth a review on them from you!

I’m right there with you on punchy bass (Sabbat E12) vs stability, although recently my ear ‘tips have been getting stuck in my ears when I take out earbud or even when readjusting them while running. Another issue is sweat. Seems silicone gets “slippery when sweat”. Any advice on 1. avoiding tips from popping off earbuds (ie glue them to earbuds) and 2. Avoiding slipping out of ears due to sweat when running? Thanks great video!
I am allergic to silicone, so i went with memory foam. The cheaper pair I bought couldn't get wet or they would disintegrate. So then Z recommended Dekoni audio bullets, and well, even though I picked small, they are sliding out on me. Though they aren't quite memory foam in a traditional sense. Guess I might try the Comply, same price as the Dekoni. Any experience with those? Or ideas on what I might be doing wrong? I tried washing them, will do it again, and I also see it is imperative to keep your ears clean, so will try that. Thanks
@@osamaasiri1910 It isn't really that much money, it is worth it if you find something good. Most every cheaper memory foam set I have gotten disintegrate pretty soon. So, 20 bucks isn't bad. Problem is, that is what 20 bucks every three months that you keep them, assuming 1 pair lasts 30 days? I screwed up and bought the small, didn't figure out I needed bigger until later, but I started wearing medium or large of the slow rebounding style, rather than these, which are more like dense foam that retain their shape pretty quickly. I ended up getting multiple of the KZ SZN, often trying to stick with the silicone for a bit. I like the ease of use of them but feel like I need to adjust them more often. Here is the kicker though, so I can't wear them to bed for too long as they are uncomfortable. But I noticed with my head against the pillow over my iem that if I held my ear up and to the back a bit, I get rich full sound. But only if I hold it there. So I have 1 more thing to try, I am going ot custom make some custom tips that fill my earlobe area and if that don't work IDK what to do. I don't want to go back to over ear headphones, my ears sweat real bad and they get sore from the pressure. Also my open back tend to get full and it feels like I amd using earplugs instead of like when they are new and air pressure can vent when I stick them in. I don't have much of a budget as well, so if it is a quality issue I may never know. Nothing against Z man here, but I don't know why he would waste time with the cheapies when he has all that higher end audio equiptment, so while he praises them it is hard to know what long term values are. I sweat a lot so that might be a factor. I am going to get some smaller ones to lay down with and maybe it was mistreatment plans. I could also try some of the better Best of luck to you!
I just bought some galaxy buds , and I hate the tips lol. I hate when making home calls or just talking while wearing them. Makes me feel like my voice sounds uglier. Anyone else feel the same? I just switched to android , did away with my iphone and apple watch and now my air pods and got my gosh watch and buds. That's the only thing I haven't liked so far lol the tips. I prefer the airpods type where they dont insert into the ear canal. But I guess it'll just have to be something to get used to

Do anyone know how to clean the form tip?
I'm looking for a tip with the least outside isolation so I can hear things while I'm wearing my earphone, what would you recommend to me?
Probably any will do just get a size or 2 smaller- that should do the trick.
Use Hydrogen Peroxide to clean the silicone tips. Peroxide dissolves earwax on content.
Commenting to push this up higher. Put em in a shot glass, swish them around for a few seconds, boom, cleaned.
Also, buy multiple pairs of foam and simply expect to replace them yearly; theyre like $10 for 3 pairs.
Is there a earbud tip that is slightly air inflated, so it give a better sound underwater?

It's the opposite of what you are saying. You use silicon cos of more bass and don't like foam cos of lack of bass, but it's vice versa in reality. Foam provide much better isolation and therefore you have sense of having much more bass that is 1st to be masked usually. Foam tips "absorb" highs so that further increases perception of having more bass next to isolation. People go for foam for more bass and if earphones are too sibilant or bright.

Rigidity always a downfall of foam tips as much as I love them.
Try using the Ostry OS-100/200/300 model . They are a silicone eartip w screen filters. Read an early review online that they help...tame the sibilance and harsh treble in the KZ-ZS6 ...they marginally help, along w an EQ 5db dip around 10khz, and white braided cables. Need to clean often as u suggest for silicones, especially w metal screens. I like both os-200 and os-300. Worth a review on them from you!
Excellent info. I’m right there with you on punchy bass (Sabbat E12) vs stability, although recently my ear ‘tips have been getting stuck in my ears when I take out earbud or even when readjusting them while running. Another issue is sweat. Seems silicone gets “slippery when sweat”.
Any advice on 1. avoiding tips from popping off earbuds (ie glue them to earbuds) and 2. Avoiding slipping out of ears due to sweat when running?

All I want is silicone.... yet I cant find one..
I am allergic to silicone, so i went with memory foam. The cheaper pair I bought couldn't get wet or they would disintegrate. So then Z recommended Dekoni audio bullets, and well, even though I picked small, they are sliding out on me. Though they aren't quite memory foam in a traditional sense. Guess I might try the Comply, same price as the Dekoni. Any experience with those? Or ideas on what I might be doing wrong? I tried washing them, will do it again, and I also see it is imperative to keep your ears clean, so will try that. Thanks

@@osamaasiri1910 It isn't really that much money, it is worth it if you find something good. Most every cheaper memory foam set I have gotten disintegrate pretty soon. So, 20 bucks isn't bad. Problem is, that is what 20 bucks every three months that you keep them, assuming 1 pair lasts 30 days?
I screwed up and bought the small, didn't figure out I needed bigger until later, but I started wearing medium or large of the slow rebounding style, rather than these, which are more like dense foam that retain their shape pretty quickly.
I ended up getting multiple of the KZ SZN, often trying to stick with the silicone for a bit. I like the ease of use of them but feel like I need to adjust them more often.
Here is the kicker though, so I can't wear them to bed for too long as they are uncomfortable. But I noticed with my head against the pillow over my iem that if I held my ear up and to the back a bit, I get rich full sound. But only if I hold it there.
So I have 1 more thing to try, I am going ot custom make some custom tips that fill my earlobe area and if that don't work IDK what to do.
I don't want to go back to over ear headphones, my ears sweat real bad and they get sore from the pressure.
Also my open back tend to get full and it feels like I amd using earplugs instead of like when they are new and air pressure can vent when I stick them in.
I don't have much of a budget as well, so if it is a quality issue I may never know.
Nothing against Z man here, but I don't know why he would waste time with the cheapies when he has all that higher end audio equiptment, so while he praises them it is hard to know what long term values are.
I sweat a lot so that might be a factor.
I am going to get some smaller ones to lay down with and maybe it was mistreatment plans.
I could also try some of the better

DON'T clean foam tip with alcohool. A friend of mine done it once and they basically desintegrated.
I just bought some galaxy buds , and I hate the tips lol. I hate when making home calls or just talking while wearing them. Makes me feel like my voice sounds uglier. Anyone else feel the same? I just switched to android , did away with my iphone and apple watch and now my air pods and got my gosh watch and buds. That's the only thing I haven't liked so far lol the tips. I prefer the airpods type where they dont insert into the ear canal. But I guess it'll just have to be something to get used to
