      The garage can get full rolling metal toolboxes.
      Emphasis on rolling!
      Mobile tool storage is for out of the house. You know, going mobile! Because a metal rolling toolbox is not friendly, getting in and out of a truck without a forklift!
      That's why my metal knack box has forklift slots built in and also straddles pallet jacks.

    Great show guys. Love the tools but I'm a bit confused about the "Ryobi beat them to the punch..." thing regarding the M18 Forge battery. I bought one a couple weeks ago and it's in my hands.

    • @ToolShow
      @ToolShow  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The one in your hands has lithium pouch technology in it, not tabless cells. The 12ah M18 Forge battery, which comes out later this year, will have tabless cells just like their MX Forge batteries already do, and the upcoming RYOBI battery we just mentioned.

    • @daifeichu
      @daifeichu 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ToolShow Got it. Thanks

    • @brandonhoffman4712
      @brandonhoffman4712 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not lithium pouch technology. It's lithium pouch construction.
      The difference is marketing hype.
      Assembling things is not the tech industry. It's the manufacturing industry, which takes various parts, and assembles them.
      That's some thicc sprinkling of marketing dust there.
      Though pouch construction could be why they have so many issues, reference samsung galaxy note 7.
      Technically though pouch cells can outperform cylindrical cells on makeup. I haven't seen Li-fe cylindrical cells, and a fairly small one fills the amperage demands of large tools. I would guess they outperform Li-po by 400% or so on Amp ratings.

    Maybe you guys should actually go into a Home Depot once in a while. Milwaukee’s M18 Forge batteries started hitting shelves back in November, meaning they beat Ryobi by a few months.

    • @ToolShow
      @ToolShow  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ugh.. you're right. All the best info is in Home Depot.
      Although... we're talking about tabless cell batteries. The M18 FORGE battery they're selling now (6ah) is made with lithium-pouch-cell technology. Milwaukee also announced a new M18 FORGE 12ah battery LAST YEAR, that is coming out later THIS YEAR with the new tabless cells in it.
      As we mentioned in the story, Milwaukee already DOES have tabless cells in their new FORGE MX batteries, but not their M18 yet. So it looks like RYOBI will beat them to the market with an 18V Tabless Cell battery, which is funny because they're sister companies both owned by TTI, but RYOBI is the DIY brand and Milwaukee is the PRO.
      Hence the story.
      SOURCE: I visited Milwaukee in person and saw this firsthand.

    • @brandonhoffman4712

      Seeing as both are made by the same company TTI.
      This smells to me like Ryobi is 1st to market because they don't do as much testing. I highly doubt TTI gave Ryobi 1st crack at the new stuff. I feel like they all have access simultaneously, but all have different manufacturing and testing procedures.
      Edit: by all I mean Milwaukee, Ryobi, and Ridgid. As well as other brands like hoover and Hart.
      And FYI, tabless cells aren't game changers. Though they might help reduce cobalt use.

    I like all the DeWalt drawer systems, but after this 3rd (?) generation, why is there not yet an option for a LARGE 1-Drawer option to accommodate a Circular Saw??? I'm DONE with toolboxes with a flip-up top. (Especially the stackable ones. --Need something from the bottom? Sure, let me UNSTACK EVERYTHING on top of it. 🙄 This isn't rocket science.)
    I guess I'm the only one demanding it. 🤷‍♂️ (Or DeWalt isn't interested.)
    Have you guys seen the New SK Modular Stackable System. (Metal & USA made.) They have LARGE Drawer and DOORS! But they're green and a bit pricier. Might have to invest in them, and black & yellow paint for my DeWalt color scheme. Amazon is selling for them.
    I've been toying with the idea of just building my own.
    C'mon DeWalt. Large Drawer & Doors option. Then it'd be PERFECT. (Well...for me. lol)

    Plugging in a battery powered tool actually makes the tool perform at a lower rate compared to the battery power. Sure, it is convenient if you run out of batteries, but if that is the case, then buy more batteries, as it will pay for itself in the near term with better production.

    • @brandonhoffman4712
      @brandonhoffman4712 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What tool does that?
      I was watching milwaukee show thier new packout vacuum (big one). It gets about a 25% boost in power when plugged in. From 125scfm to 175 scfm

    • @brandonhoffman4712
      @brandonhoffman4712 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Here is some math.
      120v × 20amps = 2400watts of power.
      18v x 15amps = 270watts of power. (5AH cell based off standard 3C discharge rate for cells)
      This is why milwaukee has thier high output line made to maximize fuel products.
      Because 18v × 24amp = 432watts (8AH cell based off same 3C discharge rate)

  • @brandonhoffman4712
    @brandonhoffman4712 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Dear Ryobi. Cell size doesn't effect power output or longevity...
    Cell makeup does, as well as total pack capacity.
    All I'm hearing from this is Ryobi decided to use better cells when switching to 21700. Might even have been that their old Cell makeup was so bad it can't be found in 21700 cells.

      Or maybe they’re all secretly owned by the same people who just want to give you the illusion of choice and in fact the same people get all the money no matter what tool you buy.

      Sorry it's not your cup of tea! But it's the tea we're serving. We carefully listen to our audience when crafting our show. It's nearly impossible for us to make as show that fits every person's viewing preferences.
      That's pretty evident by other channels that go full-bore into a "character", ignoring how many people actually like that character. Eventually they lose audience.
      So we just try to be ourselves. Sarah and I joke constantly. It's literally who we are, and how we talk to each other. So you either like us, or you don't, and no answer will ever offend us. Appreciate the feedback none-the-less, and hope you can still find something to enjoy in our work.
      We're currently working on our new tool testing series, which will be all voiceover and less funny stuff. You might enjoy that a little more.
