Many Americans have much larger homes than they really need and put themselves in a bind trying to pay for them. I applaud you for thinking small and for being creative and organized and making a beautiful home that you can most likely pay off much sooner than if you had chosen one 2 to 3 times that size. Looks to me like you have everything you need. You seem to be a very sweet lady with a happy family and that is what counts in life. Wishing you much happiness in your lovely home, and keep smiling. It's healthy, brings joy to those you love, and promotes peace and harmony within your home. Blessings to you and your family as you continue your journey!
Nice. I raised my 2 in 557sq ft. 2/1. They're in their 30's and on their own. Love that my place is paid for while watching friends and family that are still paying off mortgages!
I think a small round upholstered storage ottoman would finish off that living room with a nice thick shag rug would make it cozy and the kids could use the ottoman to play on and you guys could use it to rest your legs. Super cute home. I can see you growing out of this home soon. Very good use of space and beautifully organized with soothing color pallet.
My husband & I & our 2 kids ages 4 & 6 live in 750sq ft house with a nice yard too. There are so many benefits & you can use your community as an extension of your home. Great house
My home is only 800 sq. ft. People teased that I have a small house. My small house has been paid off for 21 years. I paid $12,000 for a foreclosed house 21 years ago. I've just calculated how much these people who teased me have paid in rent. They have paid an average of $400-$700 per month in rent for 21 years, that is $100, 800.00-$176, 400.00 in rent.
I grew up in a 750 sf house. It was small, but really well situated. As I grew into my teens a second bathroom or family room would have been nice, but on the whole it was great. My home now is larger (1100 sf), but I don’t think I would ever want more than 1500 sf.
Is nobody going to comment about all the dressers that are supposed to hold shoes but don’t 😆. I like how they rigged them to hold toys, laundry, and clothes. Very creative!
I love your kitchen! We rent a 780 sq foot home and while it is small, the counter space is what makes our kitchen feel big. We use a lot of similar organization tools as you, including the pull out racks and storing dishes on top of cabinets. You have an adorable and cozy home.

Love this. Looking to move into a 700sq ft home with my two sons. Afraid it wouldn’t be big enough but it may. Have to be really efficient with the space and storage i see lol.
I have a 900square foot house that is similar to yours. The extra space I think comes from the third bedroom, a slightly bigger bathroom and a separate, externally accessed, laundry. We also have a detached garage and shed. I was so worried that my house would be too small to be practical, but turns out we do not need as much stuff or space as we have been conditioned in recent years to think we do (particularly here in Australia, which I suspect is similar to the US. Other countries with smaller land area I know are different). Great tour. Thank you xx

this video couldn't have come at a better time. I was just here, looking at all the stuff I own and thought to myself, "I want to be a minimalist and live tiny so badly, but I just have so much stuff! I wish there was someone online that showed how to live with less stuff but also was honest enough to show their 'junky side' too." Thanks so much! I really needed this. it shows that you can still have the best of both worlds. I don't necessarily want to just get rid of everything just for the sake of saying i'm a "minimalist" because I do have a lot of things I love. And I worked hard for. not only that, I feel as though everything has a season...and literally a season. I can't wear sweaters in the summer so why would I just get rid of them. Just store them! Thanks again!
No, white is brilliant. It is easy to color-match later, when you have issues that you have to fix. TRUST ME. I have multiple homes, and I wish all were pure white.
Love the simple and clean aesthetic of this house. For the people saying this house is not tiny. When you have four people in a 700 square foot house that equals less than 200 square feet a person. That's basically the size of a bath.
So their house equals the surface of less than 4 bath tubs? That doesn't make any sense to me. I think the point is that what is considered small or tiny is just a matter of by whom it is perceived. I understand it will be to most living in America or Canada for example, but it's definitely not for most people in Europe. I still do agree that it's small though, for a family of four
@@Mar10la a bathtub is something that's in a bathroom. Lol I was speaking of a bathroom that's the size of a master bathroom. Which normally is around 100 to 150 square feet.

Love the kitchen!! You guys did a great job making the video. My husband, 2 kids and I live in an apartment in the bay area and it’s on the smaller side, you gave me great ideas to reorganize our small space.
About 15 years back, meeting at client's lake cottage, as they explain it's too small. I'm looking at about 1200 square feet and think to ask how big is main house? About 8000. Ah, yes, so the 3500 square foot cottage now makes sense to me. Our perception of scale is what we compare to from experience. 700 sf and one bath is tiny to most Americans, I'd venture.
We bought a 980 square foot house and everyone is wondering how a family of 4 can live in a 3 bedroom I1 bathroom house that size! We on the other hand think it’s just right. And on top of that we were able to pay it off right away! And while all of them have a 3k-5k monthly mortgage we are mortgage free :)
I saw your previous video before you did your makeover and you did an excellent job. Your home is cute, organized and looks like the boys are well loved. Your backyard would be my granddaughter's dream to play in. Thanks for showing your home to us and I hope you and your family are doing well during Quarantine like we're trying to do here in NYC.
@@Tasteslovely You're welcome and I'm glad you are okay. Yes, my family and I are fine but my daughter went back to work after a two week leave because this virus is making us worry. 1st the house is gorgeous. You have great taste. 2nd the tour is great, you didn't ramble, there wasn't any distracting music, it flowed very nicely. Instant subscribe. Great video! Best small house video I've seen on here hands down.
I love it. I am single in a 600SQ Ft apartment and I hate landlords! I am really looking to leave San Francisco (Not the city it used to be and never will be again, disgusting here) and fine a great place like yours. This would be huge for just me and my 20 year old spunky cat! If you ever sell please let me know! I have subscribed and like (love) the video!!
I love this! It's a rental that we rented from my sister (an in-law unit of her main home). But I'll try and remember to let you know if it comes up rent again!
Very pretty home. I went from a small house to a bigger home. I regret it we have rooms we don’t use but I still have to clean. I feel like Americans take advantage of their space filling it with lots of stuff we don’t need. Good job😊
Your home is just like you - cheery and bright, it brings a smile to one's face instantly. I love how the white theme with black details ties it all together while keeping it looking clean and organized. Definitely a cool trick!
Hi Ezgi - So glad you liked the video. Somehow it does make it look bigger if you keep the palate for the home clean and bright. I just love a clean, organized house.
I love those Ikea shoe cabinets, I have 6 in my home, one in the bathroom, three in the living room, and two in the family room. I use the ones in the living for shoes, all the others for various things. I love your idea of putting one in your bedroom as a clothes hamper. Your home is really beautiful.
To help aging parents, we are leaving our 3500 sq ft home and going to remodel a 720 sq foot game room into a tiny home. I want to design the space so there is no wasted space. Your video has been so helpful. Will you please provide the dimensions of each room.
I'm in the same size apartment, no closets. Built a platform bed on top of old dining tables and my long dresser. Now I have a super cozy bed with a big storage crawlspace underneath.
I would need more color. I lived in apartments with white walls until I was 33. When I bought my small condo, first thing I did was paint every room a different pastel color. It was 1993, so these colors were in style. I do like the comfy feel of your home & adore your wood artwork in the bedroom.
Your house is amazing. I love the soothing color scheme and the clever use of storage cabinets. I think the word tiny that some commenters seem to be hung up on is relative. You also did a great job on the video. I have been searching for video tours of small/tiny houses like yours rather than the kind built on trailers. I am a fellow chicken tender :) Thank you so much for sharing!
I agree with Tammy that I’d love to see more small or tiny homes that aren’t built to travel. Just small footprint houses that are easy to clean & maintain.
We live in a small red brick ranch home originally 2 bedroom but my husband put a master bedroom addition on which helps but our living room and eat in kitchen is very small. So with 3 kiddos I have to make sure I go through their toys and clothing as much as possible to keep every room simplified and not feeling as cluttered! But I love living in a small home. We spend a lot of time close together ♥️🥰
We had a big house with 60 acres in the country and downsized to 800 sq feet with a postage stamp yard in the city..I love our smaller home and city life! The up keep works for as as we enter into our elder years!
You have a great sense of style to go along with organization - its beautiful! I have a mansion like 864 sq. ft., but you are using your space more cleverly. Great use of shoe dressers! No one can really live in those dinky tiny homes, your home size was more common when your house was originally built.
Even if it was just me, that is as tiny as I'd ever want to go. There is no place in a true tiny house (under 200 sf, which to me is a closet) for someone who has true hobbies like quilting and has equipment and fabric, cutting tables, etc. Too many are going that small and regretting it later, adding storage buildings, which defeats the purpose, in my humble opinion. This is perfect, though I prefer a more rustic color scheme for me personally. Thank you for the tour!
Me too! The storage shed she showed, I have a hallway cupboard about half that size and it is filled floor to ceiling with shelves for all my craft supplies and fabric! I always think that I could never live in a tiny home and give up my love of crafting and sewing! This home is lovely though and her organisation just gave me a kick up the arse to get on and finish organising mine! My house is about the same size, much bigger bathroom though, and bedroom, but I only have one bedroom so that allows the rooms to be a bit bigger overall. I need to trawl the ikea website and get ordering a ton of storage organisers! The only downside of crafting, is it can get messy really fast! Especially when you pop back and forth to bring out another tool or multiple supplies to work with! Am I right? 😂 A neat and tidy home can look like a hurricane swept through the living room in the blink of an eye! Or is that just me...? 😜😜😜
@@tamielizabethallaway2413 I live in a tiny(ish) apartment and I craft and sew. I've got a machine and even a serger, bread maker, big food processor, guitars, two bikes, plants, a quarantine section... I have a metal shelving unit over top my sink so dishes dry over it. My space is 280 square feet and super comfortable.
@@aryastark3148 that's great! But I have disabilities also so need extra space for moving around, one whole kitchen cupboard is filled with medicines. I can't be crawling underneath things to access stuff. I have an entire large chest of drawers filled with just my fabric. I also have a fair amount of memory boxes also, a lot are things from my little boy who died and I can't part with. It's all neat and I have great storage, but if I went any smaller my home would be too cramped for my liking. 😊😊😊
Super cute & very inspiring! 👍 Just one thing I noticed... Large dresser in boys room has sharp corners accessible to their beds. You can get adhesive corner protectors to keep it kid-safe 💕
We used to live in a 300 square metre house in Brisbane, Australia - there were 6 of us in our family. It was sooooooo big, if I had to clean it on my own it would have taken me 2 days to clean it every week but most of the time my 4 children helped with the cleaning and even then it took 5 of us at least ½ a day to clean it - what a waste of time!!!! AND I am very, very organised, I am NOT a hoarder, I have a place for everything and everything is in it’s place and I trained my 4 children to be neat, tidy and clean. My children left home and now my husband and I live in a 100 square metre unit and it only takes me 2 - 3 hours to do the cleaning each week - what joy. I think small homes are nicer because you get to spend more time with your children as a family. I grew up in a small house, again there were 6 of us in our family and I had to share a bedroom with my sister, wasn’t a problem at all. As children no toy was more interesting than playing outside where we were every spare second of every day. My children only had 2 boxes of toys between the 4 of them and the best entertainment for them was playing outside - for them to be inside was torture... which is how it should be...
Thanks for sharing your lovely home. I am very, very impressed by how you made use of only 700 sq ft. Everything has its place, is neat and organized ... and with two children. It's important for people to know how much space they have to work with, and then purchase accordingly (or pare down). As I've seen in some small home and apartment tours, people tend to purchase over sized furniture or have too much furniture that give an otherwise nice space a cramped look. Thanks again.
It's lovely 🙂 you have done a wonderful job. It's not tiny but it is pretty small. Keeping it clean must be difficult. I am sure it takes most of your time 💙
I absolutely love it! It's so airy, fresh and the space is maximized so well. My former two bedroom apartment was about 500-600sq ft and maximizing space was so important.
This home is adorable!! We have a 900sf home that my husband and I share with our 4 girls.. Now that our oldest is entering middle school we're finally planning to move to more space. Also you will want more bathrooms once the kids get older!😅 We share 1 tiny bathroom with 4 girls and it's annoying now that we are home 24/7.
Great work inside the house. Outside storage needs a little work. Shoe dresser all over the house LOVE IT. At the end of the day if you're happy in your home IT'S YOUR HOME! Call it tiny, small or mini is yours to enjoy.
Thank you for the storage solutions. Our house is just a little bigger, but no by much. I struggle with the small room size and finding furniture with storage that fits well. I really like the shoe storage cabinets.
Reading these comments makes me positive I would never have a TH-cam channel. In the US this home would be considered small, and this family lives in the US! This is what society has become? How about being positive? It’s a lovely well organized home, well done.💕
Yes its a normal appartement, here in sa we live in a tinny cottage much smaller than yours. And here we don't have thise lovley ikea stuff, in Johannesburg. .so we make our own shelves and improvise. ..
All these people commenting about it not being tiny boggle my mind. For a family of 4! It's beyond the norm. I'm one person in a 480 sq foot apartment. It's considered "tiny" by everyone I know (even if official tiny is 350 or 400, and micro is under 300). Your place is seriously goals, I keep adding storage to my apartment. Hi Rania - Thanks! We loved making the video. So happy I could share my discoveries.
Very cute place. My house is a detached one with 600 square feet so not that big. I love how you use the spaces and it feels open!
That is awesome!
I love how organized you are. I’m so inspired to do the same with my house.
You can do it! It feels SO good once you're done!
Only in America is 700 square foot home called tiny. You would be laughed at if you tried to claim something like this where I live.
Unfortunately, in America everything is super-sized.
Just about to say that... 700sqf seems an okay size for small family.
I live in Suburbs of Boston, with my family of 5 in 988 sq ft. I also ran a daycare in it with 10 kids under 2 and 4 staff.
Love it! We are a family of four in a 777 sq. ft. house. It’s always so fun to see how others organize their little homes ❤️
Thanks Bailey - Sounds like our houses and families are about the same size. Fun!
Hi Mickey - Thank you so much! I hope you and your granddaughter are safe in quarantine too! We are doing well and are very blessed!
@@Tasteslovely You're welcome and I'm glad you are okay. Yes, my family and I are fine but my daughter went back to work after a two week leave because this virus is making us worry. She is an essential worker but she takes every precaution for herself and when she gets home to us. Stay safe for you and your family.
My apartment was 766 sq ft and rent was in upwards of $2k. Couldn’t figure out many other options at the time but now I know better. 🥂 Cheers to living and learning and doing better because you know better! Very pretty home! ❤️
Really cute. My husband and I live in 340 sq feet. Couldn’t do it without a shed to hold suitcases, waffle iron, iron and board, Christmas tubs etc.
Okay Denise - 340 sq feet? You win!
Woman: you are a domestic goddess and beautiful to boot! Shawn and the boys are very blessed.
You're so sweet Xomara! Thanks you!
I love the use of all of the shoe storage cabinets!
They are awesome Reagan!
Great organization of your space brings mental peace ✌️
Totally! Organization keeps me sane!
1st the house is gorgeous. You have great taste. 2nd the tour is great, you didn't ramble, there wasn't any distracting music, it flowed very nicely. Instant subscribe. Great video! Best small house video I've seen on here hands down.
Thanks so much! 😊
Good job😊
Thanks Elizabeth! So glad you liked it!
Elegant. I loved your style and organization ideas.
Thank you!
It's a lovely small house! Very cute and clean!
Thank you! 😊
Thank you for the video I got some new idea for my home. My boyfriend and I live in 288 sq feet and storage is a big struggle.
Yep Brie - I feel the struggle!
I'm in the same size apartment, no closets. Built a platform bed on top of old dining tables and my long dresser. Now I have a super cozy bed with a big storage crawlspace underneath.
@@aryastark3148 That is a brilliant idea Arya! Storage is key!
I love everything about it. Completely satisfying, appealing, cozy, beautiful, and light. 💛
Thank you so much Ana!
Great use of space for the four of you, so bright and airy too, love it!
You're so kind! Thank you!
I would need more color. I lived in apartments with white walls until I was 33. When I bought my small condo, first thing I did was paint every room a different pastel color. It was 1993, so these colors were in style. I do like the comfy feel of your home & adore your wood artwork in the bedroom.
I like color too but I worried it would make the house feel too small.
Your house is amazing. I love the soothing color scheme and the clever use of storage cabinets. I think the word tiny that some commenters seem to be hung up on is relative. You also did a great job on the video. I have been searching for video tours of small/tiny houses like yours rather than the kind built on trailers. I am a fellow chicken tender :)
Thank you so much for sharing!
You're so welcome Tammy! Glad you enjoyed it.
I agree with Tammy that I’d love to see more small or tiny homes that aren’t built to travel. Just small footprint houses that are easy to clean & maintain.
Wonderful, beautiful, fantastic!
Thanks Gem!
Lovely tiny home...great decorating!
Thanks so much! 😊
It's definitely cozy Sara!
Love the use of shoe cabinets and white color scheme which make it look bigger and with clean lines.
Thanks MK Woo!
We had a big house with 60 acres in the country and downsized to 800 sq feet with a postage stamp yard in the city..I love our smaller home and city life! The up keep works for as as we enter into our elder years!
LOL! I love that you have a postage stamp yard! We do too!
Love how organized and clean it is 💕
Thank you!! 😊
This size and layout is perfect for a guest house my parents are looking to build! Do you happen to have the floor plan?
Thank you! I sadly don't have the floorplan. It was a rental.
I love the alternative uses of the shoe dressers. This is my favorite tip of the year!
Me too!!
Adorable and so ell organized ! And your boys are precious !
Amazing! We don't really need a huge space and a lot of things to live comfortably.
Thanks so much Brent!
Love from the Philippines!
You have a great sense of style to go along with organization - its beautiful! I have a mansion like 864 sq. ft., but you are using your space more cleverly. Great use of shoe dressers! No one can really live in those dinky tiny homes, your home size was more common when your house was originally built.
Wow! Thank you so much Thomas!
@@tamielizabethallaway2413 Not just you!
@@tamielizabethallaway2413 I live in a tiny(ish) apartment and I craft and sew. I've got a machine and even a serger, bread maker, big food processor, guitars, two bikes, plants, a quarantine section... There isn't a single closet so I built my platform bed on top of my long dresser with old dining tables making a crawlspace underneath.
Great idea Karen!!
Sounds like you are one organized lady! I admire that.
Adorable and so well organized ! And your boys are precious !
I absolutely love how you organized with the shoe storage area. I’ll have to steal that idea 😊🌷
You should!
Beautifully designed
Very nice home..well organized..cozy..just right!
You're so welcome! I am so glad you enjoyed the video!
It's lovely 🙂 you have done a wonderful job. It's not tiny but it is pretty small. Keeping it clean must be difficult. I am sure it takes most of your time 💙
Yes, you are right Faiza. I'm cleaning all day.
Love the organization! Your home is also lovely.
It’s so light, airy and peaceful! 😍 Love it!
I absolutely love it! It's so airy, fresh and the space is maximized so well. My former two bedroom apartment was about 500-600sq ft and maximizing space was so important.
Thank you so much Lucy!
Your home looks lovely, really like how you make so good use of space and the furniture and floors look so beautiful together!
Thanks so much! 😊
@@Tasteslovely you are so very welcome!😊
This home is adorable!!
We have a 900sf home that my husband and I share with our 4 girls.. Now that our oldest is entering middle school we're finally planning to move to more space.
Also you will want more bathrooms once the kids get older!😅 We share 1 tiny bathroom with 4 girls and it's annoying now that we are home 24/7.
Yes, eventually another bathroom would be fantastic!
Love the hampers, it’s a great alternative use for the IKEA shoe racks.
Thanks Patricia! I try to be creative!
Beautiful home! It's cool how you keep decor very simple and minimal 😊
Glad you like it!
Wow, so thought out...love how neat over the kitchen cabinets...great way to store toys. . Etc...
Thanks so much! 😊
Great work inside the house. Outside storage needs a little work. Shoe dresser all over the house LOVE IT. At the end of the day if you're happy in your home IT'S YOUR HOME! Call it tiny, small or mini is yours to enjoy.
Absolutely beautiful. You are amazingly organized. Be bless.
Thank you so much!
It's so cute! You make good use of space!
Thanks!
I took my closet doors off throughout my house, installed curtain rods and hung long curtains instead. I live it.
Yea!! That's so awesome! You are going to love it!
Thank you for the storage solutions. Our house is just a little bigger, but no by much. I struggle with the small room size and finding furniture with storage that fits well. I really like the shoe storage cabinets.
You're sure welcome!
love your style of living so organized I just have too many things and keep trying to declutter
You can do it!
Is it possible to have the house plans ? Really amazing how it is organized :)
It's a rental actually!
Your home is so lovely, fresh and clean. Your very creative…
You're so kind! Thank you!
Your home is lovely, so pleased to have seen it, thank you
So nice, thank you Vicky!
Reading these comments makes me positive I would never have a TH-cam channel. In the US this home would be considered small, and this family lives in the US! This is what society has become? How about being positive? It’s a lovely well organized home, well done.💕
Thanks Tanya!
Yes its a normal appartement, here in sa we live in a tinny cottage much smaller than yours. And here we don't have thise lovley ikea stuff, in Johannesburg. .so we make our own shelves and improvise. ..
This just makes me want to pack up everything and move to that tiny cabin in the mountains I've always wanted!
You should!
Above the fridge slideout cabinet is basically next on the list!
Thanks Janet! Storage is key!
