Best way to get money is to go to the omega ruins and stay near the save sphere, just circle around and you get battles with the lizard and the chest. First you open the chest and usually its a monster. Now you kill the lizard and then the monster and you get about 55,000 for one fight or 110,000 if any one your 3 characters has a weapon with the "gillionaire" ability in it. I get about 2-3million gil in 30minutes.
Seems much simpler to me to just fight the One-Eye and sell all the armor he drops. That way you don't need to buy armor and customize it. I get money real fast that way.
I like to farm One Eye for his weapon drops. It's weapon drops can be great starters for super AP gaining weapons (via Don Tonberry). Just sell the weapons you don't like.

Only tipi would suggest to make it even better is to not fight dingo, use Tidus or anyone's celestial weapon and choose 99,999 Ohko monsters like sleep sprout because with the victor overdrive setting you only need to one kill between ever Kotos fight to recharge your overdrive (defeating Kotos counts for your overdrive even if you beat it with an overdrive) 1. Kill sleep sprout with Mug (gets item and charges OD, drops items for sale/custom) 2. Fight kotos 3. Use slice & dice to ohko kotos 4. Repeat
Simple breakdown of the stats to prove its most time effective when using the variation demonstrated in my live streams on twitch 23 seconds = average time to OHKO Kotos with Tidus or Waka (use victor overdrive and their celestial weapons please) 2,250= price of one tetra armor bought in Kilika from the elderly woman 40= number of healing springs earned for each Kotos kill 12= numbers or springs required to customize SOS Regen onto the tetra armor 6= number of armors you will be able to give SOS Regen after 2 Kotos kill 46= number of seconds it takes to OHKO Kotos twice, earning enough springs to customize aforementioned 6 armors 21,000= average sales price of counterattack weapons Kotos occasional drops 37,781= exact sales price of the armor you bought in Kilika for 2,250 gil, after you customize it with SOS Regen 35,531= sales price after you subtract your initial payment to purchase the armor In 46-48 seconds you have earned enough healing springs required to customize your armor for a total sales price of 226,686. 1,800= a half an hour converted into seconds 39= how many times 46 seconds goes into a half an hour Each 46 is worth 226,686, so a half hour is 46 seconds, 39 times 30 minutes allows you to sell enough armor to net 8,840,754, which is a total profit of still over 8 million.
you forgot to factor in the time it takes to buy said armors, travel to kilika, and back to the arena. you also need to account for the total space for having said armors to add in the counter weapon sales. we can ignore sales time since it'll be equal in all cases. this is in comparison to killing something like one-eye in 2 attacks, or sleep sprout with Mug and First Strike (Auron with celestial weapon), and that's if you wanted to make Evade and Counter weapons to sell back.
+Pinking Lily your right I killed two birds with one stone doing it that way I collected the Gil plus I gathered ap before I was able to do the ap farm trick
I use Victory for OD gain as Wakka, and he charged his OD full in 2 victories (including the Kottos fight), so I just kill 1 kottos then another fight (i pick the first dog from first island), and kill Kottos with Wakka 2nd OD.
Solit Tse so many people arguing that mimic is faster and you and I are just sitting here going "people still need to gil farm" I stopped needing gil after realizing that I could one shot kotos with slice and dice then one shot sleep sprout with mug and then return to one shot kotos with slice and dice... I just timed myself and made 1.5 million in less than 9 minutes lmao
Or go to Omega Ruins and fight the Mimic in the chest, if Rikku has her weapon with gilliare on it the fight get 100,000 gil each time. I got a mil just from that.
In the original version, hunting Mimics would be easier, wouldn't it? Kottos is harder to kill in the original because Anima's overdrive is one hit instead of sixteen and can't instantly kill kottos!
If you have characters hitting for 99999 and auto-haste armor, you can kill Kottos in around 45 seconds. 3 kills is 120 healing spring in a Little over 2 minutes. Including time spent on customizing it's 3 minutes for 10 armors. Lets say you're slow and say you do 3 kills + 10 customizations in 4 minutes, the profit per armor is 33K, so you will be earning 330.000 reliably every 3-4 minutes. Without having to constantly fleeing from non-mimic battles.
Yeah i made that comment when i was still farming to get ultimate weapons. all i do now for cash is farm what species monster i need to get for certain spheres *going for 255 in all stats* just farm away on them, they will always drop a weapon as well as the spheres. ranging from a 20k sale, to a 250k sale.
I made about 13000000 gil total profit in around maybe 45 minutes. Finding some mimics, and and hoping the chest doesn't have an item, and then slaying it(which is easy at high levels) takes around maybe 4-5 minutes. 13*4=52 or 5*13=65 minutes. This is faster for me, especially if you can stock up on a lot of kilika armors, and get used to this trick. And from a psychological aspect, I like selling all the armors at once, to feel I made a hell lot of gil. For more, sell armor from kottos too.
I use that monster to farm basic spheres fast. That said, is painful to see only two psheres dropped, because it is because the monster dropped Dark matter, and it matters more.
Not so sure about that. I’m playing the remastered edition on the ps3 and that’s not the case. Auto regen sells for- 112781gil SOS regen sells for- 37781gil While per each item it’s true that auto regen is the better sell, that’s not the case for how many healing springs it takes for each item Auto regen takes 80 healing springs SOS regen takes 12 healing springs When you do the math, for every 80 healing springs you can get about 6.7 SOS regens. In other words, even when you round down to 6 SOS regens per 80 healing springs, that means you’re making 226686 Gil per round of selling. The SOS regen makes more than DOUBLE the amount of Gil than auto regen. Even if you take into account the 5 extra armors you had to buy (which is 13500 Gil) it still doesn’t offset the amount you’d profit. (It’s 213186 Gil btw) Bottom line- SOS regen is the way to go 👍
@AMakYu Yes, this appears to be the PAL (European) version; in the US version, Oblivion is a one-hit attack, capped at 99,999. In Europe, it's 16 attacks, capable of 99,999 each. Americans would need to level Yuna a bit more, so that Anima's regular attacks hit for 99,999 as well. (about 80 STR should be sufficient.) That means you have to hit Kottos five times, meaning you'll take damage, meaning you'll have to come out to heal at the Save Sphere, but it's still quick and easy Gil.
I know this video is old but but whatever. Everytime you beat one-eye you get a tripple AP weapon. When they have Three customisation slots they are Worth about 20 000 - 30 000 gil. Since it only has 150 000 Health it can be taken down in 2 hits and is therefore alot faster.
Yes, but in the NA version, those "multiple hits" don't really do any damage and are just for show. I have my game on quick summon mode, but Anima still maxes at 99,999.
They do for mine I got the NA REMASTERED and I have the quick summon and at the end it shows damage at a 1,000,000 or around there. Maybe the remastered is different but it counts on my game, but I’m not for sure about each version either

the best way to beat kottos is to get tidus's strenth to where he hits 99999 damage like Auron and do Blits Ace on kottos and tidus hits kottos 9 times so if yours strenth is high with the 99999 XD because kottos is weak you can over kill him and get dark matter or 40 healing spring in 2secs with 1 move
Ha, been looking for a video like this man. But try adding the the hp+30% and mp+30% plus sos regen, you sell it to the guy for about 66,000 $. I made like over 8 million gil in like 30 minutes. But thanks anyways man
Shane Bergman yeah and that's not even the strongest hit she can make. If I recall properly anima can deal over 1 milion damage with her overdrive when maxed out.
Shane Bergman Any move that does more than one attack (wakka's attack reels, tidus's slice and dice, and to some extent blitz ace on low defense high HP targets, anima ultimate and magus sisters ultimate, mindy's passado) can all go over the secondary damage limit.
I prefer going to Omega Ruins with Gillionaire and killing the Mimics, takes much less time for much more money + I don't even have International version, just vanilla NA
at a certain point, you should kind of assume everyone who plans to has seen your live stream, or if they commented a year ago and never since, don't care.
You can also do 1 Fight against Don Tombery. All Override Mode (Rage? In German its "Zorn") and Tidus Override Mode "Askese" (where you must get dmg.) During 1 fitght you fill all overrides. Than you Fight against Kottos "Kampfteufel" and uses the Special Yunas Override on Anima. Next Fight you uses i dont know the english word "Abgeben" and you can use Yunas Override again. So you make 1 Fight against Don Tombery and than 7 against Kottos "Kampfteufel". (Dont Forget to customise your defense items after 2 Fightes with Kottos "Kampfteufel" so you dont trash your customise items) I Think its the faster Way. And Thanks for Vid.
@verikukko lol how ofton do you see that lizard...only if your lucky youll make money like that..but for get it id rather fight and beat kottos in 1 mins and get 40 Healing Spings for SOS Regen Ability And it Equiped to tidus's Tetra Shield which turns into Regen Shield ..i can sell each Regen shield for 37781 and i bought 90 Tetra Shield ... soo 90 x 37781 = 3400290
100k with gillionaire but the fastest way is to fight one eye over and over and keep 2-hitting him as he drops on average a 30k a battle weapon/armor drop and you can beat him 30 times in 10 minutes.mimics give you more but take forever to encounter
LordJustinDB i thought there was a monster that you can kill really quick that drops even better gil priced stuff.. could be wrong, one eye is what I use lol
I recently live streamed from my PS4 proof that "mimic farming" is useless unless you want to farm time wasted and fruitless efforts. I'm doing so again all in twitch, showing how to become a billionaire in no time
you must have a first edditioin, they didnt release the version wiht the damage/hp/mp break, ultimate weapons and dark aeons version till 2 years or so after release. x
@reddevil312612 i still prefer killing one-eye over n over agn n hope for a triple ap weapon dat has 2 more open slots, den selling it. cuz the thing is dat if u can hit for 99999 dmg everytime den dis would be an extremely easy method, as u would only be required to hit one-eye 2 times for overkill. and the second advantage to this method is dat u can hope for dark matters. i amassed a total of 86 dark matters using this method.
one question : does these overpowered monster the trainer creates last forever ? i mean, if i defeat one of them once, do they dissapear from the list ?
is faster if you buy armors at calm lands customize them white HP +30% and MP +30% and SOS regen/auto-regen is really fast Faster than mimics in my opinion
Why bother wasting this much time? Fight One-eye instead, only 2 hits and you got an overkill. After the fight, it will give you a weapon with triple AP (Very common drop). Each worths 22-67k gil depends on which character the weapon belongs to. Minus 8k gil as starting fee for fighting one-eye, you'll get around 14-59k gil per battle, and it only takes about 10s each.
True. That's why I don't kill the dingo. I just have Yuna equipped with Loner OD mode and I use the battle with Dingo to fill up her OD bar so that she can grand summon Anima and kill Kottos quickly with Oblivion. Mind you, that this video does not have max stats in question.
Thats bullshit lol. I know its a great way to farm but seemingly for my current run I've ran into a mimic one time, the rest I keep getting turbo ethers and mega potions and crap. Its getting annoying
this guy is playing a diffrent version of FFX lmfoo how is this guy going to tell everyone to kill kottos with oblivion cant you see the damage limit 785023 wtf my Anima cant do that mine only does 99999 damage
this is dumb you can get 100,000 gil with rikkus godhand in omega ruins buy killing the treasure chest monsters you can get 500,000 in 8 min if you really wanted to ive gotten 2,000,000 in 25 mintues tops and thats being lucky on the chest showing up often this is a waste of time
Adam Strife sorry but that's proven to be slower, this video using a slow version of kotos farming. All you have to do it kill one-eye with two mugs in a row, then kill Kotos with one slice and dice. Then return and kill one eye with 2 mugs and then back to kotos with one slice and dice. All overdrives set to victor of course. I have made up to 10-15 million gil in an hour depending on which monster I use in between each kotos to charge my overdrive. It doesn't take very long to turn 99x an armor that cost 2,000 gil each into armor that sells for 37,000 gil each. That's over 3,500,000 gil including the ridiculous amount of gil earned by selling one eyes drops. It's been proven to be much faster especially since mimics are unreliable and this method is 100% guaranteed. If you're "unlucky" you will get dark matter occasionally which is a good thing
Adam Strife I don't need to prove it in a video because all the astoundingly experienced players know that I am correct. Also you aren't thinking in the bigger picture all together. Running around killing mimics is a waste of time because all it gains for you is money. Why only farm gil? It is much more efficient to farm gil (faster) while also farming key items needed to customize weapons and armor, while simultaneously farming attribute producing spheres such as luck and fortune spheres. My current save file is 458 hours feels and I haven't defeated ever boss in the entire game, including Penance. Trust me when I say that I'm only providing time saving advice when I say that it is a large waste of time to farm gil off of mimics, when you could be killing several birds with one stone. Once you get to the point where you are fighting Dark Anima, and Dark Magus Sisters, the Omega Ruins has nothing left to offer. At around 300 hours I decided to stop playing blitzball and messing around with other small pickings and finished collecting 10 of every monster. Once you have 10 of everything, all places on the map become virtually useless for any sort of gil/item/weapon/sphere level/ grid maxing because the monster arena is far superior in every single aspect. These are just logical statements. Early in the game when I was maybe 10,12 or even 17, I thought the Omega Ruins were the greatest thing in the world. Then I learned that you can just get 99 sphere levels in 5 minutes off one monster, and cash in millions of gil in mere minutes. By far there's no point to any of the map after you've maxed AT LEAST Tidus, or whoever you so like to play with. Personally I never leveled up Waka more than 20 sphere levels or so until after I was trying to beat Dark Yojimbo. 4-5 hours later I had him maxed minus luck (around 205) had his ultimate weapon because I love blitzball and already had 70+ wins and and racked up something like 14 million gil.
Adam Strife sorry I can't really provide you with a video I would actually be more than happy to, but I'm in he military and just recently became married, so my funds are a little tight ATM and I have not purchased any devices for quality recording. I could just use my PS4 to record I guess... maybe I'll make my first ever TH-cam video to show you :D

Bevelles destruction sphere is required to complete since you cannot revisit
The way its done in this video is NOT WORTH IT. I tried it and realized halfway through just how stupid it was.
how to get that overdrive of yours my yuna only have stoic
+orange18 That is Loner overdrive mode. Yuna learns it when she reaches 180 turns total while being the only character in battle.
No you can repeatedly fight them over and over.
the best way to beat kottos is to get tidus's strenth to where he hits 99999 damage like Auron and do Blits Ace on kottos and tidus hits kottos 9 times so if yours strenth is high with the 99999 XD because kottos is weak you can over kill him and get dark matter or 40 healing spring in 2secs with 1 move
Ha, been looking for a video like this man. But try adding the the hp+30% and mp+30% plus sos regen, you sell it to the guy for about 66,000 $. I made like over 8 million gil in like 30 minutes. But thanks anyways man
785023 dmg ... did I see that right??
Shane Bergman yeah and that's not even the strongest hit she can make. If I recall properly anima can deal over 1 milion damage with her overdrive when maxed out.
Shane Bergman Must've been because of all the damage that the first part of oblivion makes.
Shane Bergman Any move that does more than one attack (wakka's attack reels, tidus's slice and dice, and to some extent blitz ace on low defense high HP targets, anima ultimate and magus sisters ultimate, mindy's passado) can all go over the secondary damage limit.
I saw it too, i was like whoaa wtf damn my mind went blank from that much overkill damage. How is it possible to do that?
@dreamweaver60 its "yojimbo" you typed "joyimbo" lol
I prefer going to Omega Ruins with Gillionaire and killing the Mimics, takes much less time for much more money + I don't even have International version, just vanilla NA
Potpourri I used a stop watch on my twitch live stream just now and made over 1.8 million Gil in less than 10 minutes
at a certain point, you should kind of assume everyone who plans to has seen your live stream, or if they commented a year ago and never since, don't care.
I'd probably watch his live stream if he didn't run around spamming it all over the place
@Brian Reese Oh man this is a oold comment haha. IIRC, this guy was commenting on every thread to watch his live stream
(Dont Forget to customise your defense items after 2 Fightes with Kottos "Kampfteufel" so you dont trash your customise items)
I Think its the faster Way.
Wow, I didn't know that. It would be the PAL/int. version then because mine is the same.
how the hell is this better than mimics? 50k gill per kill.
One eye is just the fastest overall.earth eater drops 150k items a lot though
thats what I was thinking lol earth eaters are a pain but yeah i thought there was something better.
.
Lol I know it's from Xenosaga, but what is the son played at 0:20? Great video by the way.
killing malboro king might be better.Enter fight with resistance to confuse dark and stone, and beat on him.
LOl just farm one eye and you could get weps with triple AP and sell em for 63k
where you got tidus golden sword?
what grand summon do any way?
but... Mimik??
I recently live streamed from my PS4 proof that "mimic farming" is useless unless you want to farm time wasted and fruitless efforts. I'm doing so again all in twitch, showing how to become a billionaire in no time
where i can find tetra ring ?
You can buy them from wantz inside Macalania Woods at the entrance they are 100k I believe.
+gerald white Wrong, you buy the ones that were in the video from the vendor at Kilika Port, they are only 2250 gil.
Er.....
One Eye, has items from 60k to 130k has under 150k hp, Anima does 2 attacks and it's dies.
sorry to say this but condor is kind more easy and don't hit so you could use condor its cost only 18 gold
I think one eye and mimics are way way better
thanks dude i may get yojimbo on this way or maybe not
Nice Xenosaga reference.
you must have a first edditioin, they didnt release the version wiht the damage/hp/mp break, ultimate weapons and dark aeons version till 2 years or so after release. x
Problem in-game economy?
what's the second song?
the 2nd is from FFVIII
Anima Tweek including the intro music
Nobuo Uematsu Only a Plank Between One and Perdition
I like da mimic stragety better. I heard da One-eye stragety is better, but i'm 2 weak 2 no
@reddevil312612 i still prefer killing one-eye over n over agn n hope for a triple ap weapon dat has 2 more open slots, den selling it. cuz the thing is dat if u can hit for 99999 dmg everytime den dis would be an extremely easy method, as u would only be required to hit one-eye 2 times for overkill.
and the second advantage to this method is dat u can hope for dark matters.
i amassed a total of 86 dark matters using this method.
2000 X 50 = 100000. why doing this-- its very silly >??????
one question :
does these overpowered monster the trainer creates last forever ? i mean, if i defeat one of them once, do they dissapear from the list ?
No, you can keep fighting them, but it costs 8k each time
is faster if you buy armors at calm lands customize them white HP +30% and MP +30% and SOS regen/auto-regen
is really fast
Faster than mimics in my opinion
isnt mimics better cuz it gets u 100k gil in like a minute
Y we not funding this
cool song
thx man, i got sooo much money from it!!!
Is this the international version? I don't think you can get past 99,999 damage in the NA version. o_O
you used comrrade overdrive mode or loner?
lol why did you use a Xenosaga song?
wow that actually works....
I shall try this.
this isnt faster then mimics man, u kill a mimic u get 100,000 gil. with gillionaire of course. and mimics are easy to kill and find
or.... kill mimics in the omega dungeon...
omega ruins with gillionaire will make you tons more cash than this.
use cheat-disc from action replay and have infinite gil!(for joyimbo!)
you dont have yojimbo?
Yes I do, though I didn't want to rely on luck.
Why kill the dingo in the first place??? You gain nothing from it!
Auto Regen giveses u 225,000
@khaghaghohan your anima aint tht strong iver
Wow that really didn’t do anything
@lobbywww Thanks a mili dude :D
this guy is playing a diffrent version of FFX lmfoo how is this guy going to tell everyone to kill kottos with oblivion cant you see the damage limit 785023 wtf my Anima cant do that mine only does 99999 damage
Just finished a live stream and using my iPhone stop watch where I earned over 1.8 million Gil in under 9 minutes. It was easy as shit
JIELIKEJW
@lobbywww if int is international then yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
this is dumb you can get 100,000 gil with rikkus godhand in omega ruins buy killing the treasure chest monsters you can get 500,000 in 8 min if you really wanted to ive gotten 2,000,000 in 25 mintues tops and thats being lucky on the chest showing up often this is a waste of time
Adam Strife sorry but that's proven to be slower, this video using a slow version of kotos farming.
Adam Strife I just timed myself using my iPhone stop watch and I earned just a hair over 1,500,000 in 7 minutes
Brian Reese doesn't mean jack shit when you don't have a video to prove it
Adam Strife I don't need to prove it in a video because all the astoundingly experienced players know that I am correct.
Its impossible to deal over 1,5 or 1,6million damage unless ur cheating...anima deals about 15-16 hits and max damage is 99,999 so do the math.
i think my method better than you
