Don Tomberry's karma is efficient only if you have played a lot and have killed a lot of monsters in the game. An even faster way for those who didn't start improving the magic defense in the sphere grid is to fight the first round of Dark Ixion, He always counters every attack with thundaja (always os 99999) and only attack your characters one by one. And what always surprised me is the fact that you can run away in this fight. Just use the same configuration as the video for each character.
Quick Hit is to maximise the number of turns you get before he stops using Karma (ie. when he reaches your characters). Remember, the more times you get hit by Karma, the more xp you get.
@RebornAleph the music plays fine; it just got a bit jarbled while recording. As for it being on an emulator, I do have a PS2 and I played this using my own FFX disc. I've also clocked a good few hundred hours on the PS2, through multiple playthroughs. However, the PS2 doesn't allow you to upscale to HD resolutions. It doesn't allow save/load states. It doesn't allow for easy recording with as good quality.
@redstorm593 with that boss it deals a shyte load of damage but still easy to manage cos its so slow. setting your overdrive charge to comrade would boost your overdrive a shitload when you've got 2 teamates taking 70,000 damage which gets converted to ap with the overdrive to ap weapon modifier. could use whatever monster you wanted to but would be the most economical way of doing it. havnt done this myself but am assuming thats how it works?
how do you get mega phoenix in is it the same in this version and U.S version idc can you tell me so i know i gave up hope now i went to omega ruins to please tell
@DaBunnyMasta if it says you've reached the limit it means that you've caught the max amount of that creature, you're only able to catch 10 of each fiend so you must have caught 10 Nidhoggs already. I'll PM you a list of all the fiends at Gagazet and you can figure out which ones are missing.
You can get 99x Mega Phoenix for unlocking Pteryx in the Monster Arena by capturing 4 of every bird: Condor (Besaid Island), Simurgh (Djose Highroad), and Alcyone (Sanubia Desert). Alternatively, you could bribe Alcyones (2x for 8,600 gil) or Ghosts (Cavern of the Stolen Fayth, 38x for 199,000 gil).
2 questions (3 but your see why i said 2) 1. where do i find Don Tonberry to capture him 2.If you can't capture him what monsters do you have to capture to unlock Don Tonberry 3. How Much HP does he have
@DaBunnyMasta its most likely the black flan, I think that one is the most rare in Gagazet plus you need magic to kill it so its hard to capture since you can't capture something with magic. what I do to fight them is I use an aeon because they have an automatic scan and use weak attacks with that aeon so I can it doesn't die right away from a powerful attack then when its HP is low enough I use regular attacks, they're only in the gagazet mountain cave...or it may be Behemoth.
@darkmanrules To maximize overdrive filling I guess, damage taken by allies here is the most worthy way to gain it. Then overdrive to AP does the rest.( I guess, not sure though )
to get chocobo wings you need to go to calm lands - arena, then talk to the old man and fight either "Cactuar" or "Qactuar" or if you have "Cactuar King" like me you can try him too, but watch out for his 99999 Needles and 10000 Needles. The way to get the chocobo wings is by getting any character and use steal on them. Note:May only work once or twice.
@DaBunnyMasta on your way and it makes an annoyingly long trip more meaningful if you know you're gonna get an ultimate weapon at the end. if you're already past Zanarkand it means you have another annoying trip to make all across Gagazet, which includes the mountain cave and all of the water creatures so be sure to get a capture weapon for Rikku, Tidus or Wakka. Aurons is also super helpful if you're gonna max your characters stats because it hits hard if his HP is low. other than that I...
@DaBunnyMasta I've actually unlocked him since I asked this, you have to capture 1 of every fiend in the Cavern of the Stolen Faith/Sunken Cave (the place you get Yojimbo). he's actually not that hard, just long and boring, every hit is pretty much automatic KO so you should have 2 healers and 1 fighter (how powerful his attacks are, are based on how many fiends that specific character has killed so the healers may not die automatically if they don't fight often)
@DaBunnyMasta I would recommend you get Yunas because its a lifesaver and its hands down the easiest to get, I unlocked it without even realizing. I'm pretty sure you find her stone on the beach in Besaid Island, you have to swim out as far as you can and theres a small area of land to the left of the screen hidden by the cliff, you'll find a chest with a stone, I forget which one though, as for the sigil, all you have to do is capture one of each fiend in Gagazet which is conveniently...
You also need Triple Overdrive. With this ability your overdrive bar would fill out three time as much (Duh!) and since your overdrive growth if converted in AP you will gain more AP and even more with Triple AP that you already got. Lower HP also yield more because of the calculation formula. I didn't do test but I use only one character to attack in Stoic mode and the 2 other only defend while being in Comrade mode. The Stoic character gain overdrive (AP in that case since he has Overdrive -> AP) when being hit and the two other also gain AP (Still because of Overdriver -> AP) when the other character is hit.
Alexandre Brochu Oh yeah I forgot about the Triple Overdrive, cheers. I just need to get some Winning Formula to be able to customise it onto my weapons. Thanks :)
The video was captured at ~30-40 FPS since my computer back then couldn't handle emulating the game as well as capturing the video at the same time at the full frame rate. I then sped the captured video up to the normal 60 FPS (which is the PAL default). Basically means that no, the video was not sped up for the battle.
@DaBunnyMasta only got those ultimate weapons and Wakka's which I never used. not worth all the blitzball I played to get it imo but the reels I got were useful I suppose. I think Lulu's would be very useful to get but I can never get to dodge 200 consecutive lightning bolts, I got to 170 once and missed one and ruined the entire thing. last time I checked I've dodged a total of like 900 and something lightning bolts but not consecutively *sigh*
What’s the point in playing the game just to cheese it? Actually, nvm. This is way better than dedicating countless hours into a decade plus old game just to be able to say you maxed out all your characters the legit way. Literally nobody gives a rat ass how you do it really. Same reason I laugh at idiots who get their panties in a bunch over someone cheesing dark aeon fights or the penance fight with yo Zanmato. Imagine feeling like a superior person because you spent god knows how much time actively beating penance the legit way. Literally one of the longest journeys In gaming is the one the penance, but people still get mad that you’d rather get the shit over with ASAP.
You know: all those items are rather expensive to acquire. Do you have a suggestion for how to make the some 100 million gil it would take to bribe all the monsters to get them?
BloodyRed when you get armor with autophoenix and reach 99.999 damage, the fastest way is buying a stock of 4 empty slot gear from wantz, than go to zoolab and kill 2 times kottos with overkill, you'll get 80 items to put autoregen on the gear you just bought for 100k gil and you can resell it for 225k. if you kill kottos with ease this is the best way.
Alas, I still face a catch 22: in grinding for the some 100+ million gil I'd need to get this epic set of armor, I get tons of AP. Now with millions of Gil, my stats are maxed and I don't need AP anymore, thus making the set of armor no longer feasible.
Eric Missy Cathcart It's a truly impressive trick, but unless there's some overlooked trick to get millions of gil ridiculously quickly (like 10x faster than the mimic method), I'd say no. Impractical for normal leveling, but perhaps something fun to do after you've completely done every other possible thing the game has to offer.
You don't need to have all the equipment before attempting this. You can start with 1 or 2 characters and get them decently leveled before moving on to the rest. If you are near the end of the game, you should be able to farm the equipment for at least 1 or 2 characters in a reasonable time frame. It'll only get easier after you level them up.
Me personally i like ff 10 lvl system because the possibilities for your characters are endless and they can learn and do so much thats why i think ff 10 and 9 are the best ones
bazokarpg1999 nope it's a don tonberry. You can get him if you get all the monsters from the sunken cave i think... i got him but i don't really remember
I remember a friend of mine who played this game for several years non-stop. He did 99999 damage even with yuna, he went across the whole sphere thing many times with every character always eraseing and recreating power ups. that was freaky..
fanaticz666 well I don't know for sure how long it took to make her hit 99999, but he defeated the black magus trio without yojinbou after 3 years or something. he had alls stats maxed, just like every member of the black trio, it was luck who whould strike first and stuff, but he won after a few minutes without using yojinbou.
RPG It took me a week to max stats with everyone.you don't need to erase any slots, just fill the empties. If your friend was fighting the Dark Magus Sisters all at once they were doing it wrong. You're supposed to be chased and they separate. Fighting them all at once is the penalty for screwing up.
years? i don't think it tooks years. my yuna does a 99999 after 2 days of training in the zoolab with this trick. in my team only yuna tidus and auron did this amount of damage. i don't know your friend but i played final fantasy X for about 90 hours and 3 of my PG are near to the max.
Yeah me too. And to do it i had drawn the whole "sphere thing" (don't know the name in english sorry) on the wall of my bedroom. THAT was crazy, man ! xD
@DaBunnyMasta anywho, you don't need your maxed weapons to beat Don Tonberry, its just helpful to have either Tidus' or Aurons because they hit hard and it helps to bring down his massive HP quicker. totally possible without it just more time consuming and annoying. ChaosDaughter Quelaag i remember that a special monster arena might gives you a full weapon with those abilities when defeated. his name is ultima buster. you get it after capturing 5 kind of each monster of all spira. Sorry my english is bad :(

They only attack the tonberry so it will counter with karma. The longer this goes on the better. Using overdrives would just be a waste.
It's called an overkill bro... high damage done on low hp and low defense will do that even in real life. I think its pretty awesome that YOU can do an overkill, and gain more AP... they can also do the same to you.. seems pretty reasonable to me.
Holy fuck I've never been so curious about a nameable protagonist's chosen name by a certain player in my life.
It's Aolin. I don't understand what's so bad about it, though.
There is nothing quick about Auron's Quick Hit
This a sped up video. So this took longer than 7 minutes.
Sound was recorded with potato.
i thought with a tomato....
more like mud
You named Tidus Aolin

@redstorm593 that wasnt tidus' celestial weapon so it never wouldv had 'NO AP' on it?
for getting Winning Formulas do u hav to unlock all of Area Conquest and Species Conquest?? or just Area Conquest???
how do i get Light Curtains and how many Mega Pheonixes do i need to make Auto Pheonix
@TheMaliciousStorm Yeah, that's right! My overdrive mode's on Warrior!
Thank you, I'll put on Comrade now =D
how do you get mega phoenix in is it the same in this version and U.S version idc can you tell me so i know i gave up hope now i went to omega ruins to please tell

@DjArHoN1 you didnt get it did you??
Audio quality feels like im getting uploaded to a floppy disk
So Double AP or SOS Overdrive don't count as boosting up your char.'s AP?? :(
Could Toki give more ap than donberry? With his retaliation at each attack, two auto phoenix characters and a full stash of phoenix pinions
@darkmanrules To maximize overdrive filling I guess, damage taken by allies here is the most worthy way to gain it. Then overdrive to AP does the rest.( I guess, not sure though )
how do you unlock the Don Tonberry in the monster arena?
Ragnorok, FF13, you remeberr?
Really loving this sound remix man haha
I am now going to call my child Aolin
how u know
time pls
screenshoot
Jesse Pinkman PokeymanTrainer No need, all you need to do put the video speed on 0.25 and watch... xD
it's right lol Aolin -_-
Wait where do u get those wepeans?
triple overdrive where do i get that?
Why is the quality so good?
@TRISTEZAGUDAlive he was using overdrive to ap, thats why he got so much AP ;)

why is Tidus' name censored?
I've got the Triple-AP but I'm only getting 10-20 S.lvls per fight, do you earn more based on your characters damage output? Anybody? :)

Alexandre Brochu I don't think I'm strong enough yet, well I don't know if I am or not really but my characters are creeping up to 6000 HP :)
i got about to 40-60 S.lvls depending on how much i stay in the battle. i usually kill don tonberry anyway
How to get font like that, mine looks fizzier
oh man, this takes me back...
What is “quick hit”?
About how much HP does Don Toberry have??
480 000
Where do u find that fiend
:P why fastfoward?
Looks like an emulator.

he actually finished the battle in 14 minutes
wtf why was tidus covered
Prob named him fuck or shit didnt wanna get demonotise
how much hp does don tonberry have

I need help I don't have anima or the magus sisters and I can't beat one eye
EmeraldLord 360 go train at the omega ruins. Heaps of AP boost there.

Michael Davaz That's what I was wondering. By the time you grind and max out your stats to be able to pull this video off do you really need the 99AP?

Wieso is dr name zugedeckt ?!
tidus is in the witness protection program and did not want his name to be known
is that tonberry king, i thought he was only in FF8
no I think it's a normal one
Tomberry's are reurrent in FF
bazokarpg1999 nope it's a don tonberry. You can get him if you get all the monsters from the sunken cave i think... i got him but i don't really remember
Why you block the name of your Tidus? D:
It's the best option available for non international versions. Unless you have a PAL PS2 you cant get int version in the states.
I remember a friend of mine who played this game for several years non-stop. He did 99999 damage even with yuna, he went across the whole sphere thing many times with every character always eraseing and recreating power ups. that was freaky..

I've been trying to figure out how he gets all that AP. Thanks for explaining!
why u didn't use dameg apeiron??
go to options somewhere there u could change it to that
why only level 4 characters?
You CAN add BDL if you had a weapon that has 1 more slot open. |:/
THE MORE MONSTERS A CHARACTER HAS KILED THE MORE KARMA DAMAGE!!!
Isn't this sped up? Been a while since I've played 10..
Tidus name?
@DaBunnyMasta anywho, you don't need your maxed weapons to beat Don Tonberry, its just helpful to have either Tidus' or Aurons because they hit hard and it helps to bring down his massive HP quicker. totally possible without it just more time consuming and annoying. I beat him without any of them equipped I'm pretty sure.
nice quality bro
how did u manage to get so high stats in such short time?? I saw 60 hours!! I played 40h yuna is at 60dmg with hit tidus at 3k....
Viagra is a hell of a drug
how do you knowh the name is Aolin anyway ? I try to but can see it never XD
Why isn't it working with me?? '-'
Is this the Japanese version?
Does this work on remaster?
Yes, it does.
Thanks. I don't suppose you know any efficient ways to farm some wings to discovery or anything that would help me create the weapons and gear for customizing the equipment in this video?
ChaosDaughter Quelaag i remember that a special monster arena might gives you a full weapon with those abilities when defeated. his name is ultima buster. you get it after capturing 5 kind of each monster of all spira. Sorry my english is bad :(
ChaosDaughter Quelaag I don't remember off the top of my head but, completing monster collections earns you a lot of the items. 7:06 on 0,25 is 2spoky4me
ill level up everyone in 35-60 hours with this method, :) thanks! never fought the dark aeons
why hide his name xD?
Wow imagine having to do that with no phoenix downs O_O
Do you understand the purpose of this video? He's not trying to kill the tonberry he wants the tonberry to damage him. He has it set so Tidus' overdrive fills when his allies are damaged. D= I gotta play this again!!!! Last time I passed it was when I was like 16, gotta do it again.
I have all the requirements except Auto Haste, I'll have to catch Machea first and get some gil...
@2011hansenyf he is looking at the lantern! :P
I think its just because the characters have auto haste
woah awesome idea dude....all i could think to get more ap was that tripple ap xD
It's called an overkill bro... high damage done on low hp and low defense will do that even in real life. I think its pretty awesome that YOU can do an overkill, and gain more AP... they can also do the same to you.. seems pretty reasonable to me.
This would require quite a few pheonix downs.
u used emulator?????
@xXxAntixXxSoraxXx Or maybe he named Tidus something like "BigDick."
but your fight looks valid lmao but yeah no one wants to watch a 15 min fight unless clothes coming off
Just get the HD version when it's released! 3
that hurt my ears
Wait... why is this in HD? I'm so used to shitty quality on any FFX video..
THIS is TRUE HD 720p!! NICE!
how do you use cheats
huh the music is a higher tempo
