I have general surgery exam tomorrow (just 12 hours later) and I have been watching your videos about general surgery for 1.5 hours. This is not normal in my exam times in general.
However, your videos really make on my mind an overview like you say and I learn/remember the pathopysiology of diseases, this makes the informations be permanent.
Like you say on your website “We have two hands. One of our hands for ourselves, one of our hands for others”. Thank you for share one of your hand with us.
Loves and respects form Turkey. With best wishes :)

Outstanding explanation. Thank you so much. I had a Hartmanns procedure 10 months ago in the UK. Hoping for a reversal soon. I have adhesions and your explanation was so very helpful in visualising my issue and the likely outcome. My problems started with diverticulitis. I’d never even heard of it when I went to A&E. Next day they operated and removed part of my colon and left me with the stoma. I can’t stress enough how important it is to not ignore the symptoms and get it checked out. I would have died from the peritonitis if I’d left it any longer. I feel so lucky to be alive.

I'm finally getting a pill cam tomorrow morning. I found a real doctor that studied and practiced in India before moving here so he knows allot more than these doctors that are paid to drag any illness as looking as they can, no wonder America has the worst cure rate percentage in the world but America pays the most for health care.

Very nicely and clearly done. You let a few medical terms slip without definition, such as "necrosis" (which means death of a tissue, anyone who is confused), and "sepsis" which means infection of the bloodstream often caused by "peritonitis" which is infection of the "sac" surrounding the gut, but by and large QUITE understandable by anyone who makes an effort and some understanding of plumbing. Your explanatory and artistic skills are very impressive.

I was quickly diagnosed but the surgeons shield you from all of this. By the time of my 2nd 2 weeks later, I was a google expert and therefore terrified, lol. Thanks for the video. To those who have constipation problems, I wish for you to get better. Here's what works for me:
    1. Stretching your body muscles with typical stretching exercises.
    2. Squatting exercises.
    3. Starjumps and similar exercises.
    4. Moving your hips to the sides repetitively while sitting on a flexible office chair/gaming chair.
It's basically any movement/position that helps you release the blocked gas/stool from your system. But of course, you first need to go to the doctor for proper diagnosis and medication.
I found that after doing such exercises and frequenting the toilet, these things helped me relieve the pain immediately:
    1. Gently massaging the region between the belly button and the crotch, in a downward motion. Doing this while lying down even for 2 minutes really helps.
    2. Apply pressure with your thumb on the DU 26 acupuncture point for a few seconds (you'll need to Google photos of this if you're not familiar with the location). Hold it for a few seconds before releasing (No need to do circular motion). For this particular point, don't be afraid to apply a reasonable amount of pressure as long as it doesn't bleed or cause you physical pain.
    3. Apply pressure/Gently massage with your thumb on the L 14, LV 2, and SP 6 acupuncture points in circular motions for a few seconds for each point.
Hope this helps! I did everything on my own, but if you have assistance from someone else that's even better.

Very clear. Thank you so much, your videos explain my situation so clearly. I had an obstruction in 1999 caused by an adhesion due to a not recognized (it was IBS the doctor said) and healed chronic appendicitis (which began in 1983).The surgeon saw the healed appendix and old scar tissue around it which made the adhesion to my peritoneum. I got surgery but they kept the appendix intact, only cut through the adhesion. (OMG!) They had let me wait 32 hours in hospital before surgery and that explains I got IBS I think (maybe due to less oxigen in the area during the obsruction??) and I got diverticulosis also (due to the pressure from the obstruction??? Then after 19 years, I had an appendicitis again!! (because during the first surgery the appendix was not removed!) and yet the appendix was perforated. (because they again waited too long before surgery: 31 hours).

The type I've had to deal with over the years has been a paralytic ileus in the small bowel, though not in the same place all the time. We think an infection I had back in '12 caused some nerve damage, and it occassionally just shuts down for a few days at a time. Never really sure what sets it off, or how to fix it. This was all very interesting to learn, though, even if most of it doesn't apply to my case usually.

Thank you so so much. I've had distention in my belly for a long while. I dont know what's wrong yet but its caused major problems that I mistook for spinal injuries, had numbness in my gentiles and falls. But nothing was wrong with my spine. After a long time of having numbness in my gentiles I suddenly didnt anymore one day and at that same time i felt something horrifically huge leave my tummy and started on it's way through my bowels. I've gone into shock with every red flag in my brain going off, severe pain in my abdomen, distention, even sepsis i believe over xmas break but like the girl said before me it's super hard to get a diagnosis. Thank you so much for this video I know now what kind of doctor I need to visit who will take me seriously enough to figure out what's causing all these symptoms.

This video is spot on and doesn’t skip a beat! I recently went to the ER for projectile vomiting and severe stomach pains for what I assumed was food poisoning from freshly baked peanut butter cookies I had purchased from the store earlier that day.... yeah I know 🤣 but it made sense at the time considering it was all I had eaten that day. I was told Because the symptoms I had are related to C-19, I had to get tested even though I had no other symptoms other than feeling extremely flushed and like I was going to pass out. My CT scan confirmed that I had severe impacted fecal matter and my test confirmed that I had been hit. Imagine that! Get help and Get tested people and continue to be safe.

@@f0repl4y Hi, impacted fecal matter is a blocked colon (from a massive amount that’s stuck) that requires emergency treatment. Yes, it’s caused by being constipated but for over a long period of time.

@@sonjuiceb0x692 That's good news!! I'm so glad you're feeling better. I had a similar experience! I had projectile vomiting as well, no stomach pain, not sure what caused it. But I remembered I ate mushrooms with guac, from my understanding, mushrooms are difficult to digest. Anyways, I didn't need to head to ER (cause no pain), once all the mushrooms left my system I was able to drink water/digest food. Maybe it was food poisoning?? Who knows. But its good news that you're recovering! I hear horror stories that many people lose their taste buds with covid19! Hopefully you were able gain back your senses.

I had Meckles Diverticulum as a baby and had to have surgery, so I am prone to getting obstructions. Over the past 10 years, I've had a total of 5 big abdominal surgeries to fix an obstruction. You can pretty much do algebra on my stomach now from all the scarring. Gut health is no joke and people should be more aware of digestion and eating as a whole in my opinion.
