    Great video. I have a 2004 Cadillac Escalade that I plan on building out. I was so worried about the floor not being completely flat. You have definitely inspired me.

      It’s definitely worth it.. so nice to pull over whenever you’re tired and sleep for the night with your own pillows and blankets!

      I’m so glad we left an area we can sit up straight, while parking stealthily! I feel like they are making it harder to overnight park!

    Store blankets and extra pillows in those vaccuum bags with the pump so you can pump the air out and when they arnt being used, they wont get moisture and take up a lot less space. This was a great video. 👍

      I used to put them away but since we use them every night I just gave up! 😅 We try to wash everything on laundry days, so nothing gets funky! Thank you for a great idea! 🥰🥰

    You should drill some "weight relief" holes (3/8") into the wood to help reduce unnecessary weight.

      I’m kinda torn between having a cooler in between the seats and having it open to get to the back more stealthy! Since it’s newer there are tons of wiring issues right there so it’s kinda scary to feel like we’re wrecking it! 😂 we actually put the 500$ deposit down on a Suboverland but couldn’t make it work out and definitely didn’t need two trucks! 😭🥰

    When I see these bills what do you do OK when you are in a normal vehicle when you open the door there’s a little light goes on and if you don’t close the door that light stays on indefinitely it can make your battery go dead. So I’m wondering how do you guys in general deal with this issue? I have a 2001 GMC jimmy and I used to commute between Santa Cruz and Rio Vista and I needed a place you know it’s a thing to rest and all I did was I put the backseats down and made a flat surface that’s a memory foam cut it out you know made a bed put pillows and stuff and a blanket and it was it is still very very comfortable but the whole thing from the backseats I mean excuse me from the two driver side and passenger side front seats from there the entire back is the bed because there’s backseat but you have to fold it down and it makes a flat surface and this is not for me living in it or even camping at it it’s just if I don’t feel good and I need to pull over and rest for a while I can climb into the back into a nice cozy warm or cool bed. So anyway yours looks very nice very very nice I’m impressed

      We slept so good and cozy in it last night, we really enjoy running a little fan and white noise machine too! I’m working on a video to show the little red light that shows the truck alarm is on, nice to know it would go off if anyone was messing around with our doors!

      It’s one of those “travel clothing rack/bars” people use for their car back seat, that stretches from handle to handle, then I just zip tied it on so it wouldn’t come loose! I think we got it at Target!

    It looks like there are bolts sticking up after removing the 3rd row seats. Did you lay the wood directly on top of those, or did you have to do any modifications?

    • @lukezier9616

      Also, is there a slight angle (incline or decline) when lying down? I know the Suburban is higher in the back for towing, so I am wondering if that creates a slope?

    don't those seats fold down flat?

    • @thompsonmobilecommand
      @thompsonmobilecommand  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      They fold flat but would still take up all the same volume wise that the drawer system we made would! Since we don’t need them we’d rather have the head room above us! 🥰

    • @thompsonmobilecommand
      @thompsonmobilecommand  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They do not have the opening down into the floor to collapse down into, like the Stow and Go vans do! We used to lay a mattress directly on them but needed more storage! 🥰
