Those frames back then was made of some real steel. Not recycled garbage like today

I’m having a blast! It feels good to on another project! I’m considering either a ford 9 inch or a Dana 60. I have buddies who used to build mud trucks and they might have some dana 60’s for the rear end I could buy.
Now I gotta pony up and steer spending money to progress! clean up frame and paint and install new springs axles and everything…then I gotta find a motor…
Keep yer eyes peeled! stay safe!

What’s the orange tool called you used to lift the body?

Its called an engine hoist, or cherry picker, depending on who you’re talking to!

how in the hell did you get that body down off the jackstands on top of the ramps with the engine hoist at the back wthout it falling off? you didn't show that part!

I just went in the opposite way, rolled out the frame, and went around and lowered it a couple inches on each side until it was on the heavy duty wooden cart I made!
nothing to crazy! but if i had to do it again, i think id invest in a gantry crane…
