Been awhile since I heard this song, was one of my favorites by Jim Croce. It's funny because for the last few years I have felt lost and alone, but hearing this reminded me of who I am. I am part of Jim Croce, he had such a strong impact on my life. Hearing this and another song called "Age" is like a shot in the arm, because I believe I just found myself again. I Got A Name...

Come September 20 it will be 50 years since Jim's plane ran into that pecan tree. Plus we lost another great singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot May 1
Jim was on the verge of becoming the King of this kind of music when he died so suddenly. A tragic loss felt to this very day. Unlike his contemporaries, Jim had "no fillers" on his albums.
I would have agreed a few months ago. But damn. What a story legacy he left through ALL of the works we are able to hear. CHILD OF MIDNIGHT & I REMEMBER HER.. two amazing songs unknown by too many. I think I remember her is about a hooker... LOL
@@reesecolbo3442 it's so beautiful. I don't know why, but it always makes tears come to my eyes. Maybe because we lost him way too soon. Heartbreaking. I love his music... ❤️
You have to ask: How the hell could Jim write with such understanding of life (looking backwards - song's perspective) at age 28/29 when the song was written?! Amazing ability to have absorbed life experiences he had heard through other people and then translate that into meaningful lyrics. He would of gone on to be one of the best artists of the 1970's and perhaps beyond. It's one of my Top 3 fav Croce songs!
