I was just getting to this section in an old school shaper manual that I downloaded, and you have given a very elegant explanation that is much clearer than what the textbook writers used. Thanks for sharing, if I can EVER get my shaper together again it will be indispensable information for me!

And even this is not exact. The speed is higher in the middle of the part then at the ends.
