Thank you for your kind replies .
There have been so many stupid comments on the internet from people being nasty for no reason , The owner had a incident that can happen to anyone at any time , and we are car lovers so most of us with sympathise with Richard rather than reply with childish comments .
This beautiful car will be repaired to the highest standard and will be enjoyed again by Richard for many more miles .
Thank you again from myself and OBO Richard for your support and kind comments .

Some people havent a clue when it comes to bodywork repair and assessment, always spouting shit for the sake of it. The damage done to that cossie is not that bad at all, the only thing that would bother me is sourcing the parts, which you gentleman have. Such a shame to see this beautiful iconic fast ford like this. But the guy must feel so gutted. My heart goes out to him. The cosworth has always been a unicorn to me. Something I could never get. Elusive. And just out of my price range. I’ve had an H plate xr4x4 and a 2.8i Capri. Among other fast fords. But I still would love to get a cossie. Sounds like it’s in the right hands now and I hope the ins is kind. I know it will be back on the road soon and I am looking forward to seeing it. The guys in this field of expertise are totally gifted. And it’s so good to see people like this still looking after these beautiful machines. Looking forward to the updates on this. It's in the best hands, you wont be able to tell it's been in a crash when it returns. One question - if it was down to the owner and no one was involved, why bother with insurance? that will catagorise the car now and impact on the value? maybe the owner never plans to sell or whatever but would it not have been better to fund the repairs himself? is it just down to the repair cost that the insurance are involved I assume?

I have driven a layer cosworth as the turbo has a fair bit of lag and then comes on pretty hard so on a wet road with tyres not used often I can imagine spinning is easily done,

This guy clearly knows what he's doing but why drive it when it's making that noise something is clearly wrong why not push it rather than run it

As soon as I seen the thumbnail I was like aww nooo. She's still beautiful tho. They have a lot of power standard its easy to think you can handel it until it hits something. Cosworths are the best fords ever made then its the mk2 escort imo. I have ever owned Aussie fords but have also owned 4 ford escorts my last ford escort was a rs 1600 mk2 2door i look back on that and think how stupid I was to sell her
