When using the Employee Onboarding template, how do you associate a list to an individual new employee who you are onboarding? It looks like all the fields in the list are 'things that you do' for onboarding, but how can you identify, for three different employees, which list items are in what status for each of the three employees?

In this particular template, I believe the intent is one list = one employee. You could for sure customize further to add another column to indicate the employee.

    Hi Team,
Any option to integrate Microsoft Lists with Outlook Calendar or just to get a calendar view of the lists/to-do items? Please can you respond. Thanks!

Hey Rajesh, it can be a little challenging to see everything in one place. I'm not aware of an integration at the moment. But you may find some of the info in one of our other videos on the topic helpful Which O365 Task Management Tool Should You Use? m.th-cam.com/video/-KM3gsHTmQc/w-d-xo.html

Hi! Great video! Would you know if there's a way an alert/e-mail could be sent to a user once a task is assigned to them?

Thanks Ruth! That's one of the downsides to Lists is that a lot of that "smartness" needs to be manually configured. If you're looking for something out of the box, Planner may be a better option. If you want to stick with Lists, you'll want to look into Power Automate. You should be to create a flow that uses a trigger like "If an item is created", send and email to whoever is in the "Assigned To" field.

Do you know if you could create a task out of Microsoft Lists? I'd love to create a task from an "Assigned to" column for the work progress tracker, but it seems the only type of alert I can generate is an email or text in the "Add alert" option.

Hey Mike! You can use Power Automate to create a Planner task from a List item. In that flow you could assign the user in the "Assigned to" column to the task as well. Let us know if you have any questions!

Very helpful video. Do you know if Microsoft has in development a dashboard similar to the board view that is now available in Outlook calendar but that would integrate lists, tasks, calendar, etc. into a dashboard-like view? I envision it as a landing page where I can keep sticky notes, lists, tasks, goals, etc. Thank you!

Thanks Elizabeth! I'm not sure! From what we've seen, Microsoft has been putting their cards on Teams as a hub for personal task management (aside from the features in Outlook you're talking about). If you haven't seen the "Tasks in Teams" app yet, we talk a little about it in our blog here: www.bulb.digital/blog/task-management-in-microsoft-365
But we'll keep our eye out any upcoming features that would aggregate all these things into a sort of dashboard.

I like the Asset Tracker template. Two questions: 1. Are we able to use Microsoft Lists outside of Office 365? My new company doesnt use 365. 2. Are we able to create our own columns on the lists? Currently, I am sending Excel Tables with todo items back and forth with several employees :(

Hi Youssouf, thanks for watching! The simple answer here is it is definitely simplest if everyone has an account and has traditional access to the tool. But, if your site collection allows external account access, you could give someone member permissions to view the List.
Yes you can customize the list by adding your own columns/removing them etc.
Excel tables with tasks is definitely not an ideal way to manage tasks, sounds like you found the right channel :) You might like our other video here: th-cam.com/video/-KM3gsHTmQc/w-d-xo.html

They're rolling out in stages between now and the end of October. No way to know exactly when, but should be soon!

@@BulbDigital ease of use working with people outside of the organization, forms, a fluid functionality, multiple views, setting project end date, and forms to start. I would add, SharePoint is holding this and other products back. It is clunky no matter how you look at it.

@@cybermonkeyusa Yeah it seems MS has one too many disparate tools related to project management. If they could somehow combine Project, Lists, and Planner, I'd be happy. But doubtful that will happen. One thing I'd love to see that would be feasible is to be able to connect something from Lists to Planner, where Planner holds the tasks, and Lists tracks the overall effort.

I wonder how onboarding works when you're onboarding multiple people at different periods in time. How to keep track of all of them.
