In this Microsoft Planner for beginners tutorial I cover everything you need to know to use Microsoft Planner. I'll show you how to use Microsoft Planner from the web (from office.com) and also how you can use Microsoft Planner in Microsoft Teams.
⬇️ Microsoft Planner Quick Start Guide, available as a free PDF download 👉 pages.xelplus.com/planner-qui...
Microsoft Planner is a Kanban solution that simplifies task management for teams. It's a fully customizable, visual tool that's super-easy to use. It uses a simple card-based interface with files, checklists, labels, and more to track progress and deadlines. Best of all, it's fully integrated with other Microsoft apps like Teams. You can use Microsoft Planner to manage your teamwork and to make sure everyone in the team knows which tasks to do. Planner is also great for personal task planning and organizing. You can schedule tasks in Planner and get a visual overview of task distribution within the team as well as task due dates and more.
You can filter tasks in Microsoft Planner based on different criteria, such as person responsible, task label, due date etc.
In this complete guide I'll show you how Microsoft Planner works and how you can successfully track your tasks.

When adding plans to Teams you are only able to do this if you created the plan based on that Team Group. If you don't so this then you can't use the embedded app, but...you can add it to a Team using the website app/tab in your Teams channel. Fun tool. Great overview!

Thankyou for sharing this information on Planner. I work for a not-for-profit organization in Australia and we moved over to O365 and MS Teams just around 18 months ago. Many of my colleagues use Planner but not in the most efficient way and definitely not taking advantage of all its features that you have so clearly explained! I will be sharing this video with them soon! Thanks again for such brilliant content Leila! Cheers from David in Australia. 👍😉🙌

Hi Leila, wow really awesome training one quick question: Does Microsoft planner have a Gantt chart? If not, is there some workaround to generate a Gantt chart? Note: Our company doesn't want to use MS Project because we don't have any complex projects neither dependencies between tasks. Also, we want to work in a Canvas using the Agile approach.

People hitting the Dislike button must have dyslexia and thought they were hitting Like. I have been providing training and consulting to the Fortune 50, including Microsoft, for 25+ years and Leila's content and presentations are exceptional. When someone tells you for what uses a software application is not appropriate, they are not just detailing features but also have a good understanding of the overall business need as well as other applications which fulfill that need. It is nice to see someone so talented doing so well.

X can assign task to Y and after completion of task Y will update the same and X will get notification. Can Y assign the task to Z ???
For example one lead (X)assigns the task to designer then Designer (Y) completed the task and assign the same to reviewer (Z) . After reviewing task is completed reviewer will update in task planner.

Fantastic!--not only are your videos introductory and give an overview, they also go into a details which really helps. Thanks Leila.
Can you please plan to do videos on Planner-->PowerAutomate/Flow-->PowerBI? (I think the route might be Planner-->Flow-->SharePoint/Excel-->PowerBI?) The videos on this topic are just too complicated to follow and the easy ones I saw were in Spanish! (so hard to follow!) My team is using these tools....and I am encouraging the use the of PowerAutomate into PowerBI. Please provide an update if this is a topic of interest for you and your team to make a video on! will be eagerly looking forward!
