When adding plans to Teams you are only able to do this if you created the plan based on that Team Group. If you don't so this then you can't use the embedded app, but...you can add it to a Team using the website app/tab in your Teams channel. Fun tool. Great overview!

I would like to create a planner for Crew A and Crew B cannot see and vice-versa. But planner only goes to General. Is that possible to do? Thanks in advance.

People hitting the Dislike button must have dyslexia and thought they were hitting Like. I have been providing training and consulting to the Fortune 50, including Microsoft, for 25+ years and Leila's content and presentations are exceptional. When someone tells you for what uses a software application is not appropriate, they are not just detailing features but also have a good understanding of the overall business need as well as other applications which fulfill that need. We use Planner for tracking recruitment activities, and move a candidates card through the various stages. This is the kind of simple project that Planner seems to work really well for. I don't think I could make it work well for many other types, if you did a follow up video with real world examples of plans you may have ran through Planner that would be useful.

However, I see two fundamental parameters missing in the task creation: One, how do I allocate time to that task, maybe I need someone to start this task at 09:00 and another tsk at 11:00, etc. Two: fields for address, where do send that person to carry out that task, maybe I want to give one person a couple of tasks at different address and time? I will be grateful if you can comment.

What about creating a new video on Microsoft Lists

I really love these training and or informational videos. What really sucks is that the actions available shown here do not show on Planner 07/2022

You had mentioned what Planner is not good for, then recommended MS Project. Does Planner integrate well with Project? I’m thinking Project could be useful across multiple organizations/departments to create a grand design/view of a large scale project, while using Planner to fill in the minutiae from one’s own single organization/department, and to then add to that grand design.

Hi Leila, congratulations for the video, for the didactics and for sharing your knowledge. There are so many productivity tools available that sometimes productivity is lost in trying to use them all. I am currently using MS To Do to keep track of my personal and professional activities. Are To Do and Planner complementary tools, or are they different ways of doing the same thing?

My (experienced) understanding that To Do is leaner and integrates with Outlook, and Planner is more complex and integrates with Teams. So I would think complimentary as far as the general toolbox, but I'm not sure if one would use both on the same project. Happy to hear other perspectives.

Fantastic video! Planner is an excellent tool. One thing to be aware of is that there is currently no way to back up or restore plans or files stored in plans. Depending on the situation, it may be best to store links to files stored in SharePoint rather than attaching files directly to the plan.

This looks great, but I don't see Planner in my Office apps. Could I add it myself or would I need to convince someone else in the org. to add it?

X can assign task to Y and after completion of task Y will update the same and X will get notification. Can Y assign the task to Z ???
For example one lead (X)assigns the task to designer then Designer (Y) completed the task and assign the same to reviewer (Z) . After reviewing task is completed reviewer will update in task planner.

G'day thanks for the video. I have a question about the custom labels. But they don't reflect in the other 'plans' within the planner. How do you make the custom labels appear in all the plans for all the tasks regardless of plan or bucket?

Does the planer schedule also integrate with the Outlook calendar?

Hi at 16:06 you show the planner as an excel Gnatt chart- this is really useful and what I'm looking for but i don't see anything that shows how you obtain that output?

Hi Leila! solid tutorial! Just a query, may we add target dates/deadlines to subtasks as well? Thank you!
