I've actually used pennies inside a box to fig CoG on my 3d printed rc warships, the weight of pennies are more or less the same so you get good precision.
This „cheap“ copy flies better than my original E-Flite Convergence…

Back in "ancient days" with Air Hog rc planes, they had a biplane. If you took off one wing and cut the other wing down it looked like it would never fly, but it flew SO MUCH BETTER. Good times.
I think I still have one of these kicking around, which wing do you remove and what length do you cut the other one?

@@otm646 remove the ones without the props.. and I remember there being a "break" that you could just sort of pull away just outside of where the props were. It will look crazy small when you're done but it's much more stable and fast.
I did this too! I had 2 of them, one I made into a single wing and the other i just trimmed the bottom wings in half. We used to try to ram them into each other to knock the other plane out of the sky.

I have this plane, and I love it. You did a great job of pushing this thing without seriously breaking it. Usually the actuator mechanisms in the front break. If you get this plane, make sure you’re up pretty high and in a wide open space before you go to plane mode. It books.

Awesome video. Just wanted to let you know I'm into the nerdy stuff, the solar plane and autonomous boat videos are still my favourites.
Now take the idea of how that VTOL aircraft works, and scale it up into something made with a cargo bay. Like have it pick up and drop off an RC car. That would be funky.

There's a challenge where people try to fly an RC plane autonomously across the Atlantic Ocean nonstop. So far the only planes that have done it are gas-powered. I think RCtestflight can do it with a battery-powered RC plane. Will you take up the challenge or at least see if it's feasible?

I love these VTOL's I have the XD and this one, bought two as never flown before buying the XD so when the JJRC came up on black friday at half price I grabbed it not for if I crash but when but a year on no crash's I now have a couple of drones as well now those I have crashed several times.
Did you try the 3D stunt mode before you butchered it LOL, and maybe if you extend the rear tail pieces a little it would stop the oscillation according to my all knowing RC pilot neighbour. I have only flown a couple of times in the 3D mode and was really glad of the red button and quick transition to multi rotor mode or vertical, before flying I only did 5th scale gas and 6th & 7th scale electric off road trucks and buggies so was well out of my comfort zone flying. Loved the tongue in cheek vibe in the whole anyone can do it cheers lads cheered up my dull friday afternoon.
Itll be cool if you had a camera or two that film those low flying sections, so you can judge better.
Ive never owned a drone but have a friend that has full VR set up.

I just bought my first FPV drone and i wanted the skyhunter that you had in your gone wrong video 4 years ago but I don't know what all to buy with it for the more basic stuff its in the description but for camera, transmitter, controller both handheld and flight controller I have no idea what to get.
Fun and interesting FPV and VTOL plane video, even the goats and dog were entertaining.How does that raw goat milk taste nourishing i'll bet!

Can I chat with you about how you got rid of the twist from V2 to V3? You talked about doubling the spars in V2 but I don't recall if you talked about the design of V3.

Sorry did not mean to make a reply to your comment. I meant to make my own comment to the video lol. But to answer your question it is in Christiansburg, Virginia. I actually work for a designated FAA test site and Wing is one of our partners. They established the first commercial drone delivery operation to serve the community after receiving approval from the FAA. Check out wing.com for more infor. I'm fortunate enough to have just bought a house in the delivery zone!
