Dan...Great video...I especially liked the detail you provided on making sure the impeller fins are properly oriented.. I had an impeller replaced at the shop and they oriented the impeller fins incorrectly which caused an overheat problem..
VERY GOOD VIDEO.. do you have any video's on yamaha outboard 50 or 150 to clean out the carburator?
thanking you for this wonderful video

Dan you mentioned a wooddrift key that you could not remove. If I were to remove does it just pull out with pliers?

Man what a great video I changed the impeller put it all back together but when I tried to bolt it back up I could not get the shaft to go all the way in. I wiggled and pushed for an hour nothing. I put it in forward gear and it went right together but stuck in forward gear. What Now?

@finderoftheway You will have to drop unit again, make sure you have the remote in neutral positon, on the lower unit the splined shaft the controls the forward and reverse needs to be turn so it is in neutral to know if you are in neutral the prop will spin freely.

excellent video. I have a suzuki 140 ---- and did you place the motor in neutral when you pulled lower unit? Pretty much the same type engine design mines just larger.
    Thanks Russ

I have did mine several times and always leave it in neutral. Just make sure it's in the spline is in the same position when you put it back. Easy to check when you get it bolted back up the prop should spin freely.

@MrCoonass32 - I am not sure about that, mine has been running great for a year or so. I am thinking those are just relief holes for when you hook up your water hoses.

Nope, just the speedometer tube. Remove bolts and it lower unit just drops out.

Dan, thanks for the video. This was very helpful. I do have a questions, after I installed the new pump I had a great stream coming out of my motor but I also had water coming out of the small holes on either side of my lower unit. It looks like yours was doing the same thing in this video. Is this normal?

Thanks for the video. I'm getting ready to do my 1991 55 HP. It looks pretty straightforward.
