@@Macephtopheles I don't know why, but inhumanly long fingers is one of my biggest phobias. Even worse if those hands are attached to abnormally long and bony arms, and those arms are on a creature/monster that's too tall.
Bonus facts: you can't save during the game so you have to play it throughout from start to end although the game is very short. And there are alternative paths you can take should you want to replay.
I played it without one and had fun, I remember renting it and being like... Welp, that was two hours long and it's only Friday and I've finished the game already lol
No worries. The Spirit Halloween store closes on November 2nd, so the next episode will still count. We can count that whole weekend and Monday after as one big Halloween!
I'm amazed the only romhacks are for lightgun support and translation. This could actually be fun with modern FPS controls (like alien resurrection had) and maybe some sort of points or experience system. Say what you like but those models and cutscenes are top-tier nostalgia cheese. Love these WGE videos - hope they cover Fallout: BoS sometime.
I like to think if we did in fact use the "Pottorian Calendar" I would be born on the 69th of Benuary, which of course is the 420th month. b-b-b-b-blaze it! :)
Part of me wishes capcom retcons ethan’s backstory and make it so that he’s the guy from survivor. FYI idk if he has an established one bc I am not allowing myself to finish re7 until I finish 5 and 6
Enter one room, it has 2 doors, door 1 is locked, door 2 has a key for door 1. Rinse and repeat 20 times and thats Resident Evil Survivor. Bad game but at least one version has guncon support!
I very vaguely recall completing this game in around an hour when I was younger. Just a load of trash.... And I love Resi enough to have an Umbrella tattoo!!
The construction of the mansion and the weird puzzles and traps, as well as its designer are mentioned in the RE1 remake. And it's explained in the original Resident Evil 2 that the police station used to be a museum which is why there is artwork everywhere that doesn't belong in a police station. There's also document that mentions that they hid the keys in different places because the zombies wouldn't be able to solve puzzles and therefore couldn't get the keys. But it's also clear that, even if you handed a key to a zombie they wouldn't know what to do with it, so why bother hiding them. So that's pretty flimsy at best.
Bought this week of release and was so hyped. Played it for less than an hour and didn't play another Resi game until 5. Hated the aiming, think that was a key point to me giving up so early.
That dog glitch is the emulator, ive never come across that in my plays on the ps1 disc nor have i seen it in any other videos on youtube played on a ps1.
I played this years ago and good god it was shit even then. I also was really confused by the umbrella security guys, were they people or monsters? They talked like people but then the designers seemed to change their minds half way through making the game and have them be monsters but with guns. So confusing, and so bad.
Rented this game from Blockbuster, so stoked to have a new Resident Evil game to beat. Id spend my Friday, Saturday, and Sunday playing this game...well until I beat it in 1hr and 29mins. Im not a speed gamer or anything. I never got through the other RE games fast by any means, i just played the game. 1hr 29mins..
I actually like this game. It is a bit rough around the edges (well, a lot) and perhaps also a bit of an acquired taste, but there's a lot of classic RE charm in it.
I also enjoy it. Its basically a simplified, shorter and faster paced version of a classic resi game (with a first person perspective obviously). plus it has a lot of resi fan service by letting you fight so many iconic enemies in the franchise in short intervals (lickers, hunters, mr x, etc). sure, the 3d environments look awful even by psx standards and the game is way too easy and short but its still fun nonetheless. ive beaten it several times and will probably keep playing it every now and then. definitely a more casual resi experience.
@@G33kCulture i like the movies lol. And I've played practically every resident evil besides the one on gameboy. And i also liked all of them as well. Including survivor, 5, and 6.

Ughhh Resident Evil Survivor is literally a pile of dog shit set on fire i fucking hated this game as a kid I've beaten it and just thought what the hell were they thinking
I liked it back in 2000. Controls were quite poor compared to RESI 2 and 3 but the game was a nice distraction. Easily better than Umbrella Corp, OPRC and RE Resistance.
Honestly? Everyone takes their turn to crap at this game and that's really too easy. To me, it's bad but NOWHERE near as unplayable as most people make it out to be. The music is quite excellent, and so it the atmosphere on top playing with an actual Lightgun really makes this a solid RE experience. I've seen worse out of RE, such as the horrible live action movies.
My best friend had had RE Director's Cut, RE2, RE3, & Survivor. & this was the only one I could play. I never made it very far, but I borrowed it _constantly_ The graphics had me in awe & the first person view had me on edge. In fact, I only recently found out this was a "bad" game. In my memory, it's still one of my favorites.
@@mr.sentient7344 They are but in the PAL version you can completely control the game including walking and movement with the Guncon, which really changes the way the game plays, it is a really interesting gameplay loop, and definitely quite ambitious for it's time. Exceptional editing on this episode. Some great visual gags, especially early on. Great work, boys (OR GIRLS)
While it is undoubtedly a bad game. It blew my mind as a kid. Playing it with a lightgun but also being able to walk around, was next level immersion.
I still kinda miss the player select screen from vidiots. With the swinging arms y’all did.

Alien Resurrection was worst than this game imo. The bad controls and constant change of protagonist killed it.
Am i the only one who saw the typo on the brightness screen? Visible was 'vivible'.
They couldn't even get into the game without a flaw showing through
