  • JackTrip is just software. You can get whatever hardware that suits your needs! Here's what we recommend:
    - Connect your computer via Ethernet to your router
    - Use wired headphones
    - A decent microphone for your voice/instrument
    - An audio interface to connect your microphone to your computer
JackTrip Bridges are outdated and no longer required:)

If you have more than two microphones, we recommend that you get an audio mixer to mix/pan your individual channels there, and then output the stereo sum to JackTrip.

There are many headphones out there that will perform just fine, as long as they are wired!
We personally like Beyerdynamic DT-770s, but there are more affordable options out there.

I understand Ethernet is key for low latency. A lot of iPad hubs have Ethernet options. So it would not be out of the question to have an iPad connected to Ethernet. With that in mind, have you guys considered making an iOS app for jamming? I use iPad, MacBook as well as mpc hardware in my music production.

Great questions! Yes, you're right about iPads allowing to connect to Ethernet. This will certainly lower your latency, as WiFi encoding/decoding takes more time than direct wired transmission. Since there's currently no mobile JackTrip app yet, you'll need to use the browser, (which adds latency as well).
