  • Ever wondered how internet latency works? How can you optimize your latency in JackTrip to truly make music in real-time? And what's the difference between bandwidth and roundtrip latency?
In this video of our 'Get Started with JackTrip' tutorial series, Jan shows you some concrete things you can do to make sure you minimize your delay. If done right, you will be able to play together in under 30 milliseconds!
Note that you can create a Virtual Studio in over 70 locations around the globe with us right now, and many more are coming very soon!

We need JackTrip to work with the internet infrastructure folks to work on a solution for addressing whatever causes the latency after 500 miles and fix it. They would make millions

I have sensory percussion 2 hooked in with mic through focusrite solo . Shouldn’t cause latency. I was 80 miles from host it 1300 day before . 12

Hey there! You can host your own studios simply by creating a new Virtual Studio and connecting to it! Here's a video where I explain how to sign-up, host and join:

This system does not work. I’ve tried several times with different people, different countries. Does not work.

Hi @ovortron72, sorry to hear it didn't work for you. You've mentioned that you've tried JackTrip with different people in different countries. May I ask what the distances between your locations were? Again, the internet is only "so" fast, which is why we recommend for all musicians to be within 500 miles or less to achieve less than 30ms of roundtrip latency, which is usually perceived as real-time without noticeable delay!
Might that have been the problem? Thanks:)
