@Jman because the city put a lot of money so people would spend more when they visit. Instead you have crackhead pissing and shitting everywhere. It's not about rights, even a tourist can sleep in a public bathroom.
It would be cheaper to pay a person to sit in a little office to give a key out to use the toilets when needed, might deter them from squatting like this , it's getting silly
None at all. They lost their dignity and their ability to feel shame at some point due to so many factors...abuse/neglect as a kid, mental illness, inheriting the genes that predispose one to addiction/alcoholism, PTSD from serving in our armed forces...All of the above, no doubt, for some of them. "Those people" USED to float around the edges of society, be kept in institutions and/or just die in a ditch somewhere. Some could pay very low rent rather than stay on the street...But there aren't any places low-cost enough to rent, especially if most/all of the cash they get goes for drugs/alcohol. This is why you see the most people living on the street where the local economy is thriving. Landlords demand more for rent and developers knock down low-income housing to build high-income housing.
That is the reason why cities are reluctant to put public restrooms in a city. If you are out and about running errands on the street where do you go restroom. I usually find a large gas station or a McDonald’s. Either that or wait until I get home. I notice at night a lot of gas stations put “out of order” signs on their restrooms. This is the reason.
This shit is sad. It the same thing at the playground next to my house. They keep it locked 24/7 now because of scumbags sleeping and getting high in there. Wtf has the world come to that we can't even have public bathrooms anymore 😔
This was a problem a few years ago when I used to body board at Venice. You couldn't use the restrooms at all because the homeless people would have their stuff stacked in them
Respect to the Police who deal with this daily and very much respect to the sanitation workers. This is horrible to have to do day after day knowing your taxes pay for the homeless clean up instead of politicians who would do right by a city. CA is in a terrible state of affairs with their ossified leadership that lives in neighborhoods far removed from people's reality.
I do not care how hard up it may get, I would never sleep on a public restroom floor. Need to start charging these people to taking over our public facilities like this. I know some people wont like that but it fixes this type of BS in the long run. That last few years of zero accountability has caused all of this here.
I cannot imagine raising a kid in that. Great that the city does clean up sweeps, but that is not a solution. It is simple a very poor band aid. Make the restrooms pay to use with a timer that unlocks after 30 minutes or so. These sweeps should use fire hoses to remove these people. There are ways to deter from this behavior, California just chooses not to. They do not take care of tax paying citizens and only cater to the bums.

I guess it's better to be homeless in a rich city than a poor one. Seattle has the same problem. I used to think it was because it was too expensive to live here (which is true), but now I'm convinced there are migratory patterns towards places where they can get maximum government benefits and where the left leaning rich people feel guilty. I'm just being objective, not derogatory. I've been homeless myself for 6 months. It could be anyone. I know that already.
The best solution would be to force the homeless into rehabilitation, provide support services for everyone experiencing homelessness, provide good paying jobs for those that can't find work, fix why they are homeless and provide housing to all of them. I mean what else will work? Obviously the homeless need housing but housing them won't work without support services. If you throw a drug addict or mentally ill person into housing without any additional help, they will just end up homeless. again. They will trash their homes, won't be able to hold a job, won't know how to manage money, will be bad neighbors and will violate lease rules. All these things is what will cause them to become homeless again.
Sending Children to School Against their will is slavery and means you're taking your child's freedoms away. Bet you didn't realize that. This is why non homeless are actually dragging society down not the homeless since non homeless choose to support evil corrupt government and society. And the world looks like shit thanks to the non homeless with all these houses covering the Earth that everyone thinks they need.

The people sitting at the top of government all round the world should be ashamed of themselves. Everybody deserves a home I see so much homelessness around the world and it could be solved so easily if the people in charge weren't so evil and money hungry
If people are willing to live this way then why not build blocks of 8x8 shelters with communal facilities that people who need the help can register and use? Have lights and cameras for security and certain conditions like maintaining a tidy living space etc.? Hell, build storage type facilities with an electrical outlet and a light? Gotta be a cleaner, healthier option than this?
I'll tell you why this doesn't happen it's because our government doesn't care. And it's the non homeless choosing to support evil government for the most part and since government is ultimately slavery and enslaved certain races ancestors ultimately, we're immoral trash for choosing to support government in the first place. And we send our children to school against their will enslaving them. Our parents failed miserably
Sure, but how are you going to force "them" to go there and stay? I mean, without violating their civil rights as defined by homeless advocates/activists? The addicted, alcoholic self-destructive homeless want to be close as possible to high-density urban spaces where they can have part-time jobs, easily access services, prostitute themselves, panhandle, collect recyclables or steal and, most importantly, buy the substances they are dependent upon. IF we could put them in a basic, humane, supportive and safe facility as you described and make them stay there, would you let their dealers access them or allow a liquor store to set up shop? @Jman because the city put a lot of money so people would spend more when they visit. Instead you have crackhead pissing and shitting everywhere. It's not about rights, even a tourist can sleep in a public bathroom.
@@Gods_Harbinger_2_The_12_Tribes where was the lie?
How dare they call these public rest rooms. Its called disgusting rest rooms. I would never allow my kids to use those nasty toilets.
California’s Airbnb… Gotta love it
Used to be a old saying don't sleep where you shit.
It would be cheaper to pay a person to sit in a little office to give a key out to use the toilets when needed, might deter them from squatting like this , it's getting silly
Seriously. & great idea btw. It’s simple logic like this that the whole state of California needs a dose of. Reality 🌈⛈️
Santa Monica does something like that at Tongva Park. They interface with the homeless and lookout for crime.
They do it in Mexico. Public restrooms have an attendant and you pay to use it.
How about the person safety that's handling the bathrooms how's that going to work
@@paulsupronojr.4976 Not exactly, what you pay for is a clean, safe place to shit because the attendants keep the bums out.
Living that beach life takes a new meaning.
They actually let them camp on Redondo beach
It’s so dumb. I paid 500$ to share a room at the beach. I just worked at a coffee shop. They are truly BUMS
That is absolutely disgusting. Have they no shame? No dignity?
Gentrification causes homelessness or wealthy cities have homeless programs and extra food in the trash to eat from at restaurants. @lwscijunkie
Not a world, USA...go to Europe
No doubt some will stand around for as long as possible, hoping that they will simply give up ...
How sad and disgusting I use to use those restrooms and was totally oblivious to the fact that this was going on
Oblivious to the homeless people in America?
So much for being able to use those washrooms if you needed to.
This was a problem a few years ago when I used to body board at Venice. You couldn't use the restrooms at all because the homeless people would have their stuff stacked in them
I would of taken a big healthy DUMP 💩 right on thier STUFF
@@Cassie00111 I never tried to use the restrooms either. The ocean is basically a big restroom as far as I'm concerned.

First question... Why is it that when rents go up exorbitantly there is an increase in homelessness? Geniuses
How did they manage to fit a mattress in there at 34:54.?
Calling HOMELESS people 'unhoused' is like calling a rat 'unclothed'...they choose to be homeless. the end.
Tremendous feats human beings are capable of once they abandon dignity.
I do not care how hard up it may get, I would never sleep on a public restroom floor. Need to start charging these people to taking over our public facilities like this. I know some people wont like that but it fixes this type of BS in the long run. That last few years of zero accountability has caused all of this here.
Well, this is now living in America
@@bernadettewohl8062 It does not have to be.
"These sweeps should use fire hoses to remove these people"
Use flamethrowers first.
How about providing actual shelter so people don't have to resort to sleeping in bathrooms?
@@samanthawright7053 They HAVE shelters. These losers WANT to live like this. Don't believe me? Ask 'em!

I've been saying the same thing! They should lock the toilets every night at midnight and that's the only way! And it's just from bad to worse. This will never end at all. And I said that it will never end or stop!!😟😧😩💔😥😢💔
The only way this is gonna end is to demolish them!
It's being done on purpose -- homelessness is multiplying by the minute.
this is a sad situation for sure but it is hard not to see the humor in the guy trying to act like he was just trying to take a shit @32:08 while he's laying on a mattress in a public bathroom stall by the beach with a girl. "oh, this? I bring this everywhere!"
The bearded old shopping cart man is the Innkeeper. He advises when there are available units and keeps a 24 hour vanguard on the community
I NEVER use a public bathroom. I’d rather wear a Depends than go into one of these stalls. Home is where I do my business unless I’m in a clean, decent place.
So the second they finish cleaning....the homeless moves right back into the restroom and locks the door.....lol.
With all the belongings these people gather shows they are competent enough to get their life together regardless of using drugs or have mental issues. I believe the government needs to address the issue to get homeless off the streets. With all the money government gives people to live on the street use the money in proactive programs and get them off the streets. Sanitary conditions are bad for the public who are not homeless how our government even allows this is crazy. It's nasty. It's time to get tougher on homeless use some tough love. This is gone beyond having compassion enough is enough already.
Wow , a huge beach to sleep on and they pick a dirty urinal space 😮
Keep calling them “unhoused”. That will help. Wiser generations called the “bums”.
I guess sleeping in a public toilet is easier for some people than getting a job and having self respect.
Yeah this was how they wanted their life to be. I mean I have a roof over my head and a good job, but that could quickly end. A little empathy and understanding go a long way my dude.
@@TaeKwonMoe if you would allow this to happen to yourself... so be it... I've been homeless and would abort myself before I would stoop to sleeping in a public toilet.... but good luck with that my condescending liberal dude.... perhaps you should try saving someone else's planet.
Don't they disinfect? Sanitize?
Wow park rangers, public safety, the police, the city ,park and rec .All those resources to check bathrooms ? Your tax dollars at work .
That's just disgusting , the bathrooms are always foul and destroyed whenever I go to any beach because of homeless junkies
They should have gloves on touching those grotty door handles
Just pipe some classical music in there 24/7.
It's a real headache to certain types, and they be running off.
They do this in oceanside California. And it works 😂

An office chair, a futon, a mattress,a full length mirror, two or three bicycles. Those are some spacious restrooms. I mean dwellings.
This is why I stay in Rhode island. I've had the money and time and wanted to vacation to the west coast so many times but won't even cobsider it due to the high volume of drug activity and homelessness out there. The cities do nothing about it. When the cameras are on they pretend to care, but they really don't
Los Angeles county is a shit hole. Orange County is clean and nice
A lot of these people should be in an institution that can give them the care that they need and not give them a choice. Others, like druggies should also be held in an institution. An insane asylum due to their same repetitive behavior.

Make sure u walk on eggshells now when u type this. Don’t want to offend anyone lol Grow a set and say it how it is.
Anyone have a good solution to stop homeless from living in the locked restrooms???
The best solution would be to force the homeless into rehabilitation, provide support services for everyone experiencing homelessness, provide good paying jobs for those that can't find work, fix why they are homeless and provide housing to all of them. I mean what else will work? Obviously the homeless need housing but housing them won't work without support services. If you throw a drug addict or mentally ill person into housing without any additional help, they will just end up homeless. again. They will trash their homes, won't be able to hold a job, won't know how to manage money, will be bad neighbors and will violate lease rules. All these things is what will cause them to become homeless again.
Absolutely disgusting, the whole situation, these people are absolute wastes of society
And what exactly are you?

This is absolutely heartbreaking,
Maaann! Just when it looked like Venice was solving their homeless situation, there's still a bunch more people not housed. Any word on whether St Joseph's knows these folks are here? Someone give them a pamphlet or a phone number or something
A lot of people aren't looking to be housed
The homeless use pamphlets to line floors of bathroom.
They have found homes for many but these have mental & drug problems. They can't put them in a hotel.

Why don’t they just get rid of restroom since the public can’t use them anyway?
The restrooms are not being used by anyone but unhoused and addicts. Who wants to get close to those bathrooms anyhow? with drunks puking in there? Want a problem solved? Shut those bathrooms down. Lock the doors throw away the keys.
Everyone else uses a cafe or home..no need to maintain those bathrooms anymore.
Maybe keep two out of the whole stretch.
that's what I'm saying, rip this bastard of a bathroom down it's unusable at this point
I remember years ago the “influencers” who filmed a deceased gentleman in the bathrooms. It was sad it was posted online and it pointed out how ugly it was back then. It’s been bad in Venice for a while. Sad.
The people sitting at the top of government all round the world should be ashamed of themselves. Everybody deserves a home I see so much homelessness around the world and it could be solved so easily if the people in charge weren't so evil and money hungry
Most of those living like this has lost all dignity, hopefully they still have some self-respect remaining to try and do better.
I don't have any answers.
