Personally, I get a kick out of these bluegrass covers, and always thought this song could never get the down-home treatment. Boy, was I wrong! Put a big smile on my face, I'm pretty sure Freddie would have loved it. I'd love to see Brian and Roger's reactions!
Wow. As a huge Queen fan with a significant collection of BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY covers, I was skeptical, but this is just amazing. The subject matter of the song is just so perfect for bluegrass. I am so in love with the "Ain't gonna let you go". Just fantastic.
You think Heyceed Dixie are good here? If you ever get a chance to see them live, move heaven and earth to get there. Hands down the best live gig I've been to for sheer unrestrained joy, and the talent is stunning. Desperately hope I get to see them again before I die.
Genius. The world is a happier place with these guys in it & doing their thing. Saw them live a couple of years ago; hot-shot musicians for all the joking around.
Brilliant band live - Never thought I would say that mixing Classic Rock and Bluegrass would work but I've seen them 5 times and the gigs are bigger and better every time. Keep up the work guys!
Hailing all the way from Brazil! Wonderful music! I lived in Texas and South Carolina for 12 years and got to listen to and really appreciate Bluegrass music! Kudos to you guys! Absolutely wonderful!
So, I just discovered Steve N Seagulls which brought me to Iron Horse which brought me to this. It's like whole awesome genre of music. Bluegrass rock. I'm loving it. Can't get enough. I think I like the bluegrass versions even better than the originals.
***** I agree. I like all music that's performed with passion and that takes talent. Anything auto corrected isn't for me. If you're really a musician, you shouldn't have to have a machine keep your pitch for you. It inspires mediocrity.
Basically the same thing, just switch Iron Horse and Steve'N'Seagulls. As someone who like bluegrass, folk and country more than rock this combination is one of the best things I've come across in a while.
Never thought it in a million years...but as a fan of many genres of music, this actually works. Bohemian Rhapsody with bluegrass instruments and harmonies...wow.
PS. The original working title for Queen’s massive 1975 hit Bohemian Rhapsody was The Cowboy Song. Freddie Mercury had written the line “Mama, just killed a man …” while still at art college in 1968. Struggling to compose any music to go with it, he used to sing the lyrics while playing the theme from The Beatles’ A Day In The Life on the college piano.
I think this is the first time in my life that I laugh listening to this song. That's incredible. Unbelievable. Unthinkable. This is the kind of song which does not have any good covers - or they are rare. You guys are fantastic. This is original and actually really great.
Sad to see that people like don't remember Freddie as a performer with a powerful voice and 100% dedication to give everything he had on stage. There was more to him than just his sexuality.
Freddie was the ultimate showman who knew how to fully involve the crowd in the show. And that voice was absolutely incredible. Freddie will live forever!
brilliant. turning this on it's head and making it sound like a bona fide country song where the lyrics magically shifted into the genre as soon as the banjo picking and bass kicked in was genius. best cover of this song i think i've heard--tongue-in-cheek or not!
I never think that someone could be able to transform this master piece in a song which is really funny and happy, really I love this version, it´s great
Daniel Chervin 2:21 when someone flips the table, cards and beer fly everywhere and people start throwing punches and yelling "Sum' bitch!" and "Git over here!"
You boys can play! And sing! Excellent musicianship, and a brilliant transformation into bluegrass style; I particularly admired how you transformed part of the final section into what sounded like an Irish jig; well done!
Amen to that. Some people just gotta' say stuff, y'know? I discovered you on Pandora ("Dueling Banjos") and we immediately went and downloaded the "Hot Piece of Grass" LP, thank you for your wonderful music. I love every single tune. Thanks for your years of hard work and practice and your insightful arrangements. You are true blessings.
It's a different take on the song, so the pace is up to the artist. However, if you do want it nice & slow, trying playback on YT at 0.75 speed... it works.
I live in belgium and we don't have any country music like in usa. So I don't associate this style with some kind of men. I m neutral and I have to say it : THIS IS AMAZING! Go on and make my day!! Thank you Hayseed Dixie, you rock!
This has to be one of the best covers of Bohemian Rhapsody because it doesn't try to match the quality of the original. These guys are serious in their work but don't take themselves to seriously. That's why these guys are the best
i searched for new rock bands in google, and they are the oldest faces among others that i searched, that's why i came here in youtube to hear their songs, and they are amazing.... thanks that i'm not disappointed :)
This is brilliant - I saw them do this live two days ago (30th June 2011) at the Half Moon in Putney (London). Great band and very friendly always come to the bar after to have a drink or two with the audience. They're playing in Camden later in the year, guess I'm buying more tickets!
if ya cant tell by my screen name, im a BIG queen fan (old and new) and as a recent hayseed convert and a long time bluegrass lover, this basically just made my life!

Check out greensky bluegrass, they have some good covers of Pink Floyd and the Beatles
@@Alanviberson, the goards gin and juice is a good redo

I am so in love with the "Ain't gonna let you go". Just fantastic.
I love these boys. Saw them live a couple of years back, and get to see them twice this summer... EXCITED!
You think Heyceed Dixie are good here? If you ever get a chance to see them live, move heaven and earth to get there. Hands down the best live gig I've been to for sheer unrestrained joy, and the talent is stunning. Desperately hope I get to see them again before I die.
They are awesome saw them a bike rally called storming the castle
Genius. The world is a happier place with these guys in it & doing their thing. Saw them live a couple of years ago; hot-shot musicians for all the joking around.
Love it. Not just the music. The facial expressions. Fantastic.
I saw Queen OPEN their show in St. Louis right after this song hit the charts. I know Freddie is laughing and loving this version. Great job.
Brilliant band live - Never thought I would say that mixing Classic Rock and Bluegrass would work but I've seen them 5 times and the gigs are bigger and better every time. Keep up the work guys!
An impossible to cover song covered impossibly well.
too fast
Robert Raymond it’s bluegrass. It’s gonna be more country like- and a faster tempo.
Robert Raymond, listen to The Dead South’s cover of House of The Rising Sun
I love this band.
gotta love the "ain't gonna let you go" part.
These guys are just genius! You can't help but smile, I will never be ab;le to listen to the original again!
U just played bohemian rhapsody in 3 and a half minutes. And didn't fail one bit. I tip my hat to you sirs.
Hailing all the way from Brazil! Wonderful music! I lived in Texas and South Carolina for 12 years and got to listen to and really appreciate Bluegrass music! Kudos to you guys! Absolutely wonderful!

Same here guys ;D
Yall should try Blue Grass Rap
Never thought it in a million years...but as a fan of many genres of music, this actually works. Bohemian Rhapsody with bluegrass instruments and harmonies...wow.
This band has a lot more talent than I think most people will realize. It's hard to take a classic from one genre to another.
Yeah, you are so much better to recognize talent than most of us. We live in your shadow😊
@@bennylloyd-willner9667 Listen and learn…
One of the greatest bands of all time! So glad I got to see these guys, wish they would come to Rockford, IL again!

I didn’t think this song could be any more perfect than it already was!! But Wow!! Love it so much!!
The best Bohemian Rhapsody cover ever. I approve.
Minato Namikaze Pretty good.
Just the same, check out Weird Al Yankovic’s Bohemian Polka.
Génial, quel talent.... bravo les gars !!!
Me: "Bohemian Rhapsody can't really be covered well. It's too perfect."
Hayseed Dixie: "Hold my beer..."
Me: :-O

Infectious listening. Love bluegrass..always a happy sound, so get ready

Inspired by this, I'm going to leave my current job at software developing and head to more lucrative market, moonshine business.
I think it matters how many teeth you have.

Poot, I think lohphat means “I think it matters how many teeth you don’t have” Cain’t have too many teeth to moonshine🤣🤣🤣
I just love this. I saw them at the Little Orchard Cyder Fest as the weekend. What a group!
The album should have been called "A Night at the Grand Ol' Opry"

Bravo! Great multitrack, original cover and funny video. I loved it!
This is absolute brilliance.
Came for the hilarity, stayed for the musical perfection.
Thanks for sharing it here, gentlemen.

These guys are f****** brilliant. I heard their version of "Shook Me All Night Long" on my way to work and have been in a great mood ever since.
This was a great cover, but who looks at queen and thinks"This needs to be country"?
This isn't country music, it's bluegrass.
*slowly raises hand*
Hayseed Dixie do 😂
The working title of the tune as it was being composed was The Cowboy Song (look it up). So this HD cover makes plenty of sense from that perspective.
so much fun, thank you guys
This is the original version.
Serious Queen fan here (and was in time -- got to see them repeatedly in the seventies), to say this effing rocks! How fun. 😎
Looking to see if they ever do- Ballroom Blitz by a band called Sweet

it's bluegrass. duh
LOVE this! And stickerooni, I also love both Queen and bluegrass. So cool to hear this song with a banjo.
Is this blasphemy of Rhapsody?
Nah, I bet Freddie would have laughed his cock off.
He once said that he didn't care what people did with his music, as long as they kept it interesting.
OMG!!!!!! the best cover version by far Freddie would be proud
saw them for the first time sunday 24th November at the fleece in Bristol Uk love this and Hayseed Dixie
