I am 70 and have been doing your bodyweight exercises and I must admit it is slow going but I really am feeling more positive about everything. Thanks Tim!
Seen from a Tai Chi /Western Martial Arts perspective this movement mimics longsword movements (head is less exaggerated) it really does loosen up the mind and body. Peace and respect from Australia.
Love this! I can feel the unnatural direction, how amazing that's going to be, just watching! I try all your snax and do this type of movement at the gym every day! You should see the looks I get!
So I've been doing total body correction and this opened up SO MUCH of my scapular plane all at once it was ridiculous. Thank you for sharing this movement with me. I will definitely hold on to this one.

Tim! I'm so bloody grateful for this, and for all you've gifted me/us. All your stuff has truly made my life better, and i (truly) don't know how to thank you brother. Regardless: thank you. best, jeff
Good stuff!! I smashed my lower spine nine months ago, and I've been sick over and over for different reasons since, all these traumas really triggered my auto-immune disease. BUT you know what, these movements should really stimulate and heal me. Will comment again in the future after rehab. Thank you for sharing, good sir!😁
Thank you for sharing this. I like this idea/concept, though I know that integrating the top and bottom, back and front, left and right, come together at the hips, the center of the X, where the two “arrows” >< in the X are pointing to. I would encourage you to reconsider what you start with. Making small infinity ♾ signs with your hips and being aware of the breathe with eyes closed would be a more suitable start, increasing the scale of movement in that region, as you develop familiarity of the movement. Once that foundation of familiar movement and especially rhythm is there, then add the hand-eye movement to increase the complexity and overall system engagement / activation. How much your hips move will also depend on the spread along with the degree of knee-bend.
Dang, this is so good Tim. I love all your videos and am grateful for your service to humanity. I'm constantly sharing your vids with .y clients for corrective home exercises. Much love and light brother.
Today this came in my FB feed and I decided to do it every TuThSa; I’ll benefit from it more as keeping balance is not trivial for me while doing it. I have a rare neuro degenerative condition where core strength or tiring the X is super important. Today I did it for 3 mins. Love the OS gentle but super effective stuff.
Have been using the infinity sign for years now, it is part of the Eden Energy Medicine practice I have been doing for close to 20 years. I go big with it to close my morning Energy routine ,(the cross crawl is part of the routine too) then for things like relieving tension in my head or for someone who just hurt themselves for quick pain relief. I just ran across you from an interview you did with the owner of Zero Shoes, yesterday. the video was included with the weekly email I get from him. So far I have read 2 of your books since yesterday. I will do this "reset" from now on and am looking forward to building up to a 50 yard sprint on all fours by the time my next birthday rolls around when I'll be 73 then. I'll also do this infinity movement every morning too. Have a good one and thanks for thinking this up for me to do.
Holy Moly, John! You're amazing! Thanks so much for sharing this information with me. I had no idea! But wow, I look forward to your crawling report! That's really awesome. Thanks again for commenting and sharing!
I hadn't quite realised how sore and tense I was. The first dozen reps were pretty uncomfortable but then everything got back to normal. Honestly, I think this is a better reset for me than cross crawls or rocking. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Tim, any tips/advice you wish you would have known or received as you entered your thirties? (Or are the answers in this video?!) I don't know you personally, but I feel you as a mentor of sorts.
There’s probably a lot I wish I had known, I’ll give it a shot: - You are not what you do, for a living, or as a hobby - It doesn’t matter how much weight you can lift, no one cares - Glory is an illusion, it’s gone faster than it comes - Don’t make exercise an idol. - Savor your time with your kids - Forgive yourself - every time - Whatever it is, is it worth it? - Don’t be an ass. It’s a choice. - This will pass, you can heal. You will heal. - You have a purpose. Discover what it is. - You are enough. - Ask anything. - Breathe - Trust Like I said, I’m sure there is more. But here are somethings I had no clue about...
Tim you are a creative genius. The movements you share with us are unique, easy and fun. Plus they actually do work. I feel better after practicing any of the movements in your videos. Today is day 1 of the 21-day infinity challenge. I love it already. Thank you so much.
This is a really good one. I'm really trying to build my vestibular system because extreme neck extension causes dizziness for me. Doing the infinity movement with exaggerated head movements directly targets the weakness for me. Will have to work on this one!
@@OriginalStrengthSystem 21 day report. This exercise is a great morning movement, warm-up, post workout (though a bit harder when fatigued), get out of your chair 20-second stretch, etc. Feels great, thanks Tim!
Hi Tim Happy New Year!!!! I want to tell you how much you have helped me over the years. Since I stumbled upon Original Strength I have been watching and doing various videos with you. I'll try this tomorrow morning when I get to the studio. If I can ever help you in anyway Ti let me know.
Tim, any thoughts on the relationship between vestibular health and relief from anxiety/depression? Or on playful floor movement for mood and such? (Moving like a child restoring one’s inner/psychic child as much as restoring one’s outward/somatic child?)
I absolutely think there is a relationship. From the easiest example of what you’re saying, a person with vertigo will likely have anxiety and depression. And certainly, playing and moving well lifts emotions, mood, countenance and thoughts. Movement is perhaps the easiest entry point into lifting the soul. It’s hard to combat thoughts with thoughts, but you can sneak in the back door with movement. Great question! Thanks so much!
Wow man I was waiting for this kind of video..new subscriber 😀 Will this be helpful for improving stability in pelvic..(always get into posterior or anterior pelvic tilt) Waiting for your reply 🙏🏻 Thank you in advance 😊
Yes it will. So will deep breathing exercises and crawling on the hands and knees. and thanks for subscribing! I hope you find the channel very useful!
And boom (i believe all the cool kids are saying this so it's another way for me to stay youthful :) ) - once again (from the Original Strength film studios) something that seems so simple, and yet is so powerful in so many ways. Opposite hemispheres working together, tying the "x" and so much more. Thanks for doing what you do Tim and Happy New Year to all.
Tim this video is great! I came up with a similar 'reset' before and I used to do it after getting up from chair every half hour or so in the office! :D Do you think that the Weckmethod rope drills do a similar thing? Have you ever commented on a rope as a tool before?
Thanks Michael. I do think Weckmethod rope drills are similar as they are midline crossing and “infinity-like.” I also think sledgehammer work on a tire provides similar benefits - crossing from one side to the next. I actually just made a video about that on my other channel. The only rope videos I’ve made deal more with Battling Ropes and their wave patterns. Thanks so much for your question!
Hey Tim, have you tried it with an Ultimate Sand (or water) Bag? Would it change the effects? As in, is it best to keep the palms together and unloaded? I know a while ago you made a video with a similar pattern holding a weight plate, but I don't think there was the same eyes-head following.
I guess you could load it if you want to. Any load or change will change the outcome. I like the way this version feels and it’s overall Tonic effect. It is good to hear from you Alex!
My intention is to activate my vestibular system by tracing the infinity symbol with my eyes, head and torso. It does great things. Try it and see. You can stand how you want. You can separate your hands if you want also.

Then a second later, my core felt so worked out, like Mike Tyson had used my abs as a punching bag, and he was angry. So cool. What muscles does this work? How does it work the core so well? This works the muscles between the pelvis and the armpits (the core!). It does this so well because the head is reflexively connected to the center muscles of the body. Come on Tim....the loading..crawling...carrying ..pushup stuff is amazing stuff for total body strength and health ( or as healthy as one can be)...... But the mumbo jumbo....long life stuff is stretching it ..way far!!! The human movements patterns are hinge..squat..push..pull etc....and just because we perform these patterns doesn't guarantee long healthy life!! In my circle of family ..friends etc.. They are in their 70's and above and don't do yoga..or exercise of any type...I just perform better than them!! Just another example from life that one is really at the mercy of genetics...somotype and sometimes ..just plain dumb luck!!! Infinity signs?????
A good friend of mine always tells me to take what is useful and leave the rest. You may know my friend given your reference of the human movement patterns. Personally, I do infinity circles every single day. I believe in their value so much I wrote a book about them and their benefits. But that’s me. I just share what I know, love, and do. Long life is no guarantee to anyone, but quality of life is somewhat in our choosing. Our genetics don’t actually have the final say on our outcomes either. We can actually affect how our genes express themselves through the choices we make. We can actually encode the genetics we pass to our offspring through the choices we make. Yes, genetics help, or hurt, but we do also affect them. Some people drink and smoke and live long lives. Some don’t. Some people train and exercise and live long lives. Some don’t. But it’s the quality of life - that’s the rub. Are they happy? Do they feel good? Are they free to live life the way they want, to the best of their ability and choices? Often it comes down to belief. If you believe something is good for you, you’ll likely do it if the reward is great enough. I believe the infinity circles are good for my nervous system, so I do them. I even enjoy them. Every single day. Thanks for the conversation!

Rock on!
I go all the way from straight up above my head to bent over with my infinity symbol hovering just above my feet.

Just breathe. Don’t try to match the breathing with the movement
