Great video lyd ! That place sells off scratch n dent, canceled orders, light shipping damage, and customer return cabinets. They use a lottery system of first 250 people to arrive. You recieve a wrist band with a number on it. (I saw a sign in the door, said something about it. ) They draw a number and then let that person in. Becareful when going around back those big buildings ! You never know what's back there. Make sure you take your bazooka with ya ! Thanks for a great video !
We have a beautiful old DIY building sitting empty here in Ashtabula, as well. My ex wife was part of the opening crew back when it opened. I remember them all being so proud of all the work they put in. So sad that it didn't last very long.
It’s so sad! These places insist on tearing down a perfectly good building, then put up brand new buildings. They last about twenty to thirty years, then fold 🙄
See...when I was in my 20s, I would have loved cruising abandoned and closed malls and stores. Now that my 20s are far behind me, I was yelling at your video; "get away from there - don't try and get in!!"
I really enjoyed the railroad video you did. There is something appealing about that industrial style structures. Be safe and thank you for sharing your adventure
Enjoyed the episode, I definitely remember shopping at DIY but the prices were better at home depot and lowes so basically they put DIY out of business
Great stuff, I always look forward to your videos. You should come up to Toledo sometime, we have more abandoned buildings than you could explore in a lifetime!
Great video, subbed. Warren, Howland, Youngstown, Niles, all bustling cities when I was a kid there back in the 60s. I should take a drive around there again, last I remember that whole area was all just a shell of its former self.
KraftMaid Cabinetry sells their reject cabinets here. They'll have sales here every few months or so as reject inventory piles up. KraftMaid has 2 plants 30 minutes away in Middlefield and 1 plant in Orwell. I actually worked for them.
Nice building. Kind of reminds me if a home depot. I could see that being a concert venue. Thanks for sharing your explore. See yoi on the next adventure 😉👍
You are very adventurous but be cautious trying doors . In some parts of the country that's called breaking and entering and looking at abandoned buildings are one thing , touching is another . Thank you for going where most people don't go . There are safer ways to proceed . I just wouldn't want you to have your explorations to end abruptly . Have a great day and safe travels :)
Stambaugh Thompsons Hardware Elm Rd. Warren, OH - Originally Built - Researched - it was a Youngstown based company with a lot of stores in the area, including Boardman - DIY occupied afterward.
That was a good video! And yes I remember when it opened it was the first thing around before Home Depot or Lowe's etc. Just today I was across the street from there at Mod car wash! 😎
Wow, I haven't seen that name in a long time. They were very popular in the 90s, then home depot came around. There is an abandoned DIY Home warehouse in Ashtabula too, it's been closed for 20+ years and the building was never used after that. It's in the same lot as the Ashtabula mall.
A cool abandoned building in Parma is the closed YMCA on Ridge Road. Might be worth checking out. Cool pool. Cool insides. So sad to see it closed. It is for sale. If I win the lotto, we could buy it!😂😅
I grew up in that town. The town cares, that area had that store put in right next to a big grocery store around the same time but then it all went to hell at around the same time. There was a brief plan at one point to turn that into a club type bar thing but them plans died fast. The city is dumping money into the downtown region right now so them places just wait for whatever.
Yeah, somehow I remember the old DIY on Brookpark Road growing up, and I think that’s where a Bazaar Flea Market spent a long time at. Not sure THEY were even in operation anymore. I thought they were gonna relocate to where the Value City Department Store used to be? I don’t think THAT ever happened. LOL!
No I believe D.I.Y home warehouse was originally their own stores from what I remember builders square and handy andy hardware stores were the only competitors before home depot, lowes and menards stores moved in the northeastern ohio area
Europe uses buildings hundreds of years old & keeps them nice . This country is so wasteful !! I am 71 years old & I have seen countless buildings like this built , used for under 30 years , then abandoned or torn down in Ohio . What a damned waste . While they destroy more farmland doing the same !
It's absolutely sickening when I watch videos of not only abandoned shopping malls, but the factory buildings, and hospitals throughout the entire country. But in particular, that northeast region. New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, etc. A hospital corporation will just decide to shut down a hospital that is underperforming economically, and leave over a million dollars worth of perfectly working medical equipment behind to be destroyed by vandals. All the waste of construction materials, land and money, then they want me to buy some piece of junk electric car so I can reduce my 'environmental imprint' to save Earth from Global Warming. You're 100% right.
@@edwardschwenk3100 Yes . Just like they forced the ( more efficient ) appliances on us to save energy. The junky appliances only last about 8 years instead of the 50 or 60 years that we used to have . So now the landfills & scrapyards are mountains of appliances !!! Discusting waste.
Warren OH. yeah... SH! 2022 I was driving east on 82 headed to Brookfied to deliver a coil... just before island of woods on the staight away, a little crapbox car comes by & just as it got to the front of the truck a round is fired at me... hits my Kenworth at the cab bunk seam... just below and behide my ass in the seat. Warren OH.? what a dump.
It has been empty ever since they left cause the company won't release it from their lease..I don't know why but that's the info I had gotten on it 5 years ago
The lights are still on, so some activities are going on! Nice place to look around! ❤ 🥰😸😘😍💜 I would run to those flowers and grab a small bouquet for you ❤ 🌹💐9:19 Smile 😁 you're on camera!
Gorgeous brick work. The Taj Mahal of Warren. The lawn is impressively well cared for.
Lol the taj mahal of Warren!

Capturing Ohio for historical purposes. This is great
We have a beautiful old DIY building sitting empty here in Ashtabula, as well. My ex wife was part of the opening crew back when it opened. I remember them all being so proud of all the work they put in. So sad that it didn't last very long.
I'm 19, been here my whole life and it's been a point of interest for me as I've never seen this store open. Super interesting to me
Thanks!
It’s so sad! These places insist on tearing down a perfectly good building, then put up brand new buildings. They last about twenty to thirty years, then fold 🙄
If there is no heat on the inside of the building, that will happen. Mortar crumbles etc.
This building has someone in it.
I like the one u did of great northern mall. Sears I think. Awesome job Lydia.
See...when I was in my 20s, I would have loved cruising abandoned and closed malls and stores. Now that my 20s are far behind me, I was yelling at your video; "get away from there - don't try and get in!!"
Thanks for all your videos. I found you over the summer and look forward to each new adventure.
Hey. U also do abandoned car dealerships and other. Stuff Lydia. Love that u do abandoned buildings in Ohio great job. Keep it up.
This building is used for selling scratch and dent kitchen cabinets from Craftmaid
It great that u do abandoned places in Ohio. That is so awesome
Great content !! Thank you for the close up look at a old business.
Great job Lydia.
Damn, that was a long walk ! Thanks for taking us along Lyd

Reality TV at it's best. Thanks again Lyd! 🧱
Thanks for the video and FYI...they tore down the abandoned Burger King at Broadway and Libby in Maple Hts. within the last few days.
I remember when that Property was a Manners Big Boy, with the carhop service.

This place is definitely being used for something! Cool video!

Another great video Lydia! Thanks for sharing!
Stambaugh Thompsons Hardware Elm Rd. Warren, OH - Originally Built - Researched - it was a Youngstown based company with a lot of stores in the area, including Boardman - DIY occupied afterward.
This building is actually the warren warehouse for Kraftmaid. Every so many months they would have cabinet sales at this location.
9:00 CWG stands for Cabinetworksgroup, who owns KraftMaid Cabinetry. They sell reject cabinets here.
That was a good video! And yes I remember when it opened it was the first thing around before Home Depot or Lowe's etc. Just today I was across the street from there at Mod car wash! 😎
I don’t remember it and I thought Home Depot and Lowe’s was around forever and I didn’t realize that they had put this place out of business!
Those were originally builders square own by sears

Great video lydia
It was a kitchen and bathroom cabinet and countertop auction/scratch and dent discount store a few years ago. Still may be 🤷♂️
Oh yeah, used to shop at one here in Cleveland. That’s crazy that the sign is still there ha ha ha ha
It's a shame to see places closing like this it seems everything is getting worse
in the last 3 years.
Somebody’s keeping the exterior of that place nice and tidy. I’d like to sneak inside there with you and fool around. ❤
A cool abandoned building in Parma is the closed YMCA on Ridge Road. Might be worth checking out. Cool pool. Cool insides. So sad to see it closed.
It is for sale. If I win the lotto, we could buy it!😂😅
This was a store such as Lowe’s or home depot after closing Kraft Made used it as a warehouse to store their cabinets or awhile.
There was some kind of business going on in there for a while but it looks like they cleaned up shop.
I grew up in that town. The town cares, that area had that store put in right next to a big grocery store around the same time but then it all went to hell at around the same time. There was a brief plan at one point to turn that into a club type bar thing but them plans died fast. Kinda reminded me of a Target from the brickwork on the side 😁
Home Depot kinda moved in on their turf and put them under. The final store closed in 2001 I believe.
I’m in south Jersey ❤❤❤
My mom used to work there, they just were in that building last month.
Yeah, somehow I remember the old DIY on Brookpark Road growing up, and I think that’s where a Bazaar Flea Market spent a long time at. Not sure THEY were even in operation anymore. My grandad worked there. I live two miles down the road from there.
Be careful, be safe.
I really hope that someone will save those industrial ceiling fans shall the building ever get demolished.
I worked there in 98 and 99.
It's too nice. There still using it I think. Great job cutie.
Lyd. Looks similar to our old TEMPO DISCOUNT STORE From the 1970s. Except Twice as big..... TEMPO was in Nebraska Kansas. And nearby States
That building is owned by Kraft Made and store over stock and unclaimed projects, then have auctions on a regular basis.
Wadsworth Rite Aid on High St. Last Day is tomorrow before they close forever.
Jack Frost donuts Wetzel Ave ...whats going on back there ?
Property maintenance looks to clean to be abandoned, mowed grass, clean floors, clean windows, someone is using that space.over flow warehouse?
My uncle and aunt met each other while working at the north randall location back in the 90s also my mom once worked at the bedford location
Weren't they originally builder square
No I believe D.I.Y home warehouse was originally their own stores from what I remember builders square and handy andy hardware stores were the only competitors before home depot, lowes and menards stores moved in the northeastern ohio area
Hello beautiful from Charlotte NC
Be careful in those areas.
IMO, the tow sign is in too good of shape to have been outside for 20+ years.
Now if you can find some remnants of a Handy Andy or Forest City.
🆒 Find Lyd !!!
They have one in Ashtabula
Idky but for some strange reason the outside looks like a service merchandise I'm probably wrong
Your so gorgeous. And great job on the video
A beautiful lady
Someone cut the grass, that's good.
It was like Home Depot
Where do you live ❤❤❤
The outside looks incredibly nice, maybe the nicest abandoned place in all of Ohio. thanks for taking us on another adventure
It’s not. There are a few castles here.
I’m in Lorain.
May I say this? You are rather cute.
No,correct that,you are super cute😅
Now that I have commented on your cuteness,I will say, this old DIY place,it’s still electrified, still lit up.
That is curious.
It’s not abandoned, it’s still being used for storage. That’s why I didn’t bother filming it. Still a cool find.
It would be cool to go to "Hell Town" in ohio I never been there
