  • This is the penultimate of six preludes written by Robert Führer (1807-1861) in his album "6 leichte Präludien für klassiches Oregelspiel". Führer was Organist of St Vitus's Cathedral in Prague until his dismissal for selling a Stradivarius violin owned by the Cathedral. Read more about him at the following link:

    This recording was made on a Johannus Live III AGO organ, using the sample of the Maarchalkerweerd organ in Zwolle. The sample sets can be heard from four positions: console, front of the church, centre of the church, rear of the church. This recording uses the rear of the church position, affording the most generous recording of the acoustic.
    These six preludes are simple in nature, but serve to demonstrate the different colours available on the Maarchalerweerd instrument.
