@@iliopencovio9056 Weak, never agree or mention that your price is higher, in the grand scheme the sole goal is to build value, if you tell me that the price is higher, I am gonna go where it’s lower regardless of how good the place you sell is.
Also never assume, your job as a salesperson may be confusing to you, perhaps you have bad management, bad trainers, or insufficient experience, however the case is, you want to never downplay something, or make something a negative.
Here’s how to correctly handle that:
Customer: Your price is higher than your competitors.
Salesman: Now that you mention price, you did like the color right.
Customer: Yes
Salesman: And you did like the upgraded sound package, didn’t you?
Customer: I loved it, but I really do want to know if you can get a better price.
Salesman: Hey Bob, I totally understand, it sounds like you are like me and everyone else, it sounds like you are on a budget, right.
Customer: Yea I am
Salesperson: let me worry about that so you can get get all the shopping done, would you like a cup coffee while we are working up all the paperwork.
Customer: Yes (Commits to finalizing the deal)

"This is my first stop" and "I'm just looking" are not really objections. They're statements and best to just acknowledge what they say and proceed. Ex: I'm just looking: Great we have lots of vehicles to look at, have you had any prior contact with any other salespeople here at the dealership. "this is my first stop" Great I'm glad you decided to stop at our dealership first. Have you had any prior contact with any other salespeople at the dealership. Great job Luke, you're doing terrific!!

I would just add and "either or" interrogative. (Regarding to lot shoppers) "I'm just looking" -- Great! blah blah plenty of vehicles, spoken to specific sales man? If no, Introduce and say "my job is to find you the right vehicle, at an acceptable budget in a timely manner--- Go ahead and follow me and lets find you a vehicle you're going to love!"

Not in the car business, but been in sales leader ship and people always hate role-play until they’re in front of a customer and the instinct it creates kicks in and they can handle any situation without even having to consciously think about it because they’ve practiced. Yeah it’s awkward, it makes you uncomfortable. But if you do it enough, it becomes comfortable and that’s when you know when you’re in front of a customer when the pressure is on, you will perform.
First person or 3rd party stories are powerful. You could definitely pull from a story from your own life or tell a story from someone else in your life about the first time your dad was proud of you for taking initiative and doing something for yourself. It will come off less pushy and he will get out of his reptilian brain, making him make the decision to buy off emotion. Especially if he wants to get his dad involved. That means he values his opinion and that would be a dominant buying motive for him if he could purchase the vehicle by himself and earn his father’s respect. You have to make people emotional!
In point #4, your should be you're. Not being petty, just my attention to detail. Thank you sir, you have my attention in my quest to be the best!

One thing I thing important, and I don’t work in sales but, it might be highly advantageous to ask the customer when they say they’re just looking…”What motivated you to just look around?” “Was it a particular car/truck you saw?” A specific commercial? A specific reason you were excited to just start looking around? Here you get into why the customer is there to begin with. Maybe it’s something they saw on tv, online, on the road, from a friend. Like you say, you’re helping people. Find out why they came in and attack that.

I agree, except I’d avoid asking questions that are yes/no as much as possible.
Your first question is a What question, not a yes/no question. Which is good.
The rest are yes/no. People have been programmed since childhood to knee-jerk reaction answer “no.”
Last year I quit a 20 year career in the oil field... and found myself in a BDC! I'm not really interested in becoming a salesman (I seem to have quite the knack for selling appointments), but I LOVE how all of this applies to internet sales, too! If you can't overcome someone who still insists they have to go home and think about it or show the vehicle to someone else you might want to offer them to take the vehicle overnight. When you do that you're going to get another opportunity to sell them again because they have to bring the vehicle back. And by the way if they're for real, they will take it overnight. Great job Andy and Luke, really good stuff!!

How I answer the “I’m just looking” one is: Fantastic! Lucky for you we have a lot of variety of cars on the lot, would you be opposed to walking around with and we can look at a few cars until you find one you really love?
When they say yes to that I begin my questions of: what kind of vehicle do you drive now? Do you like smaller vehicles maybe something bigger? Economy friendly? What is the longest you have ever owned a vehicle? Typically when you purchase a car, what features do you like it to have? While we walk around together, would it be ok if I got an estimate on your trade in value? You’re not obligated to anything it’s just information for you to have in your back pocket, that way if we find a car you really love and want more information on it, you’ll have that trade in value info ready to go.
I am 50 years old, been in sales for most of my adult life. Getting ready to start selling cars for the first time ever, and could use any advice I can get. I consider myself to be really good at just about everything I do, but this is new to me, and I just want to really do whatever it takesto succeed, so my wife doesn't have to work so hard anymore, and she can spend more time with our daughter. Thanks for this video, I will be watching it many more times to come.

i think you forgot an objection... the 2nd objection should've been when someone asks you the price ON THE LOT. and how to overcome the objection of giving a price and leading them back to landing them on a vehicle to get them off of price while with the cars. so you can price them the vehicle they want. if price and payment is more important then is leading them inside to work the deal in a backwards stance easier for them or harder for them to stay in the buying mood?
i'd love to get your thoughts on this since you had seen it.

Andy I am not hating on you man, I watch a ton of your vids & hope I can attend your seminars in person some day. But I do have a criticism... I have been in car sales for only 4 months, but I have worked in the automotive industry for going on 8 years doing commercial parts sales, service advisor, collision repair, & detailing. I know cars. I know people. I am a people person for sure, I love people.
Sometimes it seems like these are more like pep talks than solid advice. because situations with actual customers are far more nuanced than when you have a single objection for a guy you are working with. 95% of people do not back down after you hit them with the first reassuring statement. You have to really find their motivating factor & if you miss it by even a little bit, they are gone. When we applaud these guys for saying a slick salesman like phrase as if that would sway the customer without a doubt, I just find that to be silly. Real people spending real dollars are a lot harder to sway than a sales coach & a room full of salesman/women.
Buit I have learned a ton of word tracks from you & your participants so p,lease do not take this as me being rude & ungrateful. I really do love & appreciate these videos. But the stage is a far different place than the real world & real world people who are not very wealthy singing on for a $550 car payment. They tend to be far more frugal & skeptical. (depending on the person & their motivation). I suppose I am talking about the payment driven people, or the good credit people who want a very specific car with a specific trim level & very specific features. I cant get them to settle for less/different. I really hate dealing with good credit people. I would rather spend 5 hours getting stips & dealing with a 570 credit score than dealing with a 780 credit score. The 570 will buy, & the 780 will wait, or buy somewhere else. & it is quite rewarding to get a 570 into a great car, they are far more grateful & respectful of my time than the 780. The 780 would gladly waste 2 hours of my time & move on, while the 570 appreciates that I will even take the time to work for them. I have had bad credit people with tears of joy & big hugs when they leave my lot. Not saying that all good credit people are ungrateful/rude, many of them are very kind. But a lot of them are such a waste of my time. & they know it.
Personally, I do not have great credit myself. I would never dream of walking into a dealer & spending 2 hours with them only to ghost them. I feel like that is so rude. It is like hiring a real estate agent only to fire them 2 months later because I am only looking to buy/sell a house a year from now. Good credit people make car buying like rocket science.

I have had a few drinks tonight on my night off so I was just venting a bit because this month was a bit rough. By no means am I not appreciative of the content, I watch it almost every morning before work! Don't take my observations as caddy criticism, it is just that, an observation. We all have an opinion. & I listen to these free videos intently, & I have noticed that the guests say something suave & then everyone claps. It is not like that in the real world. If I am offending you I dont know what else to say. I am definitely an open book for constructive criticism & friendly competition. I really do enjoy my job. A lot of my coworkers have quit in their first two months, but I dont plan on going anywhere even through rough times.
Perhaps your course is what will help me overcome the picky good credit customers? If so it would be worth a try, at least to me. I have done other live classes in other areas of automotive & I have had a great time learning new tricks, & making new connections! Hard work is how I got to where I am now. I am making more money now than I ever have, to be honest. I am happy about that.
Where are you located out of? I would need to plan around the trip, because you sound like you are from the southern US. I am up in Michigan. I would have to take time off work because I am working 6 days a week. But that is not an issue if you can help me overcome my obstacles. I am sure I could get the time off if I told my managers that I was going to a car sales course on my own dollar.

I’m the case of “I’m just looking” I’d use the response of “just looking huh?” “Yep” “do you care if I ask you a real quick question?” “Sure go ahead” “if you close your eyes and imagined the perfect vehicle, what would it be?”
See, how all of this goes down is you’re trying to get the customer to tell you what they want and why they want it so then you can get them inside and look for something similar because 9/10 times, you’re never going to have that perfect vehicle.

What would you say to this? After giving a breakdown of payments, prospect says “ I wouldn’t be doing payments, I’d pay full price” point I’m trying to get to, is i think sometimes someone will say this just to avoid the following closes/rebuttles that they know are coming.

Andy, My dealership currently is not allowing us to take test drives with customer because of "covid". How do I make up for the crucial time lost when the customer returns from the test drive?
Just increase rapport massively and be great at setting up the test drive with Solution driven questions before they drive so that they feel like this vehicle is going to be exactly what they’re looking for and then loop around and go back through those solution driven questions explaining that this car has all the right answers for them after the test drive

If you want to overcome high-pressure sales, people do your research before you go to the dealership decide on a price that makes sense for you. If the car meets your needs offer them the price tell them yes or no don’t answer questions like how much monthly payment do you want and whatever you do if you don’t have to never trade your car, they will give you 4-$6000 less than you can get on your own On average.. I buy cars for living and make it easy on the sales people. I don’t even go to the dealership I tell them via text or email. This is my price. If yes, send me the paperwork will start the process.
