Nice video, that ticking noise you can really hear at 7.26 & 7.50 near idle, is that normal or is it viscous fan or injector like noise? Our TDV6 D4 makes the same noise but both my 3.0TD & 2.8TD Hilux's doesn't.
Discovery Sport does not have low box and it would be easy to blow the clutch on a manual and overheat an auto. Two totally different types of 4x4, Sport a soft SUV the Discovery 5 is a true off roader not to be confused
I towed 3800 kg a 1000miles with 2.7 d4, thought it was 3500, but crane operator weighed 3.8 , on steep climbs that were very long, I was passing b doubles that were in crawler cog, the aftermarket temp alarm shrieked once at 109c, I pulled over let her idle 10 mins, away ago, I was staggered that the disco was not pushed around at all, the trailer brakes failed in the rain coming down Cunninghams gap, she never budged I came down in the lo range, 2.7 engine pulls like a train

Thanks Scott for showing the D5 doing Fraser easily. I have done some videos on the D5 as well. It is a great 4X4.
Yes it is - we just took delivery of a New 2024 model ;-)

The Go Pro was on a clamp mount on the antenna on the nudge bar - so its just the engine doing its thing ;-)
is there much difference between the Disco 5 and the new Disco Sport in terms of of off road capability?
Ian - The Disco 5 has a LOT of extra features in general - but the Sport would be fine on the beaches and around Fraser ;-)
@@fishingwithScotto thanks, answered precisely!

Hey mate, what nudge bar do you have on your D5.
That’s an ECB - the only other one I have seen is from Luck8 in the States 😉
Are they 20" rims?
Yep + BFG 275/55R20 115/112S KO2's ;-)
What engine do you have ?
3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel ;-) Just Ordered a New 2024 D300 due in July ;-)
@@fishingwithScotto got the d5 d300 last year. So so good
Magnificent
